About the software

Pros:
I like how easy it is to keep a track of patient progress with Allscripts. Unlike many EMR companies I have used, Allscripts always takes into account our suggesting while rolling out any updates. This goes to show that they truly care about their customers. I like how we can see the history of the past 5 patients we prescribed medicines too. The scheduler is simple and effective.

Cons:
The only issue I face is with the untimely updates that hinder our daily tasks. If only they could roll out updates after business hours that would be great.

Wonderful experience so far

Pros:
Since they already had many Pediatric specialty clients, it was easier for us and them to customize the system based on the needs of our practice. During the implementation process, we made sure we take our time and make as many changes and additions we need before going live. The training process was simple and the representative from Allscripts was well equipped with all the information. Customer service is capable and pleasant.

Cons:
I am already paying for the product, charging me for additional upgrades sounds a rip off to me.

More than Satisfactory

Pros:
We have been with the company for more than a decade and can safely say that it has evolved with time. Allscripts EMR is intuitive and the system is accredited with all the necessary regulations and regulatory bodies. It’s easy to maneuver. Editions and changes can be made easily instead of discarding a certain template and restarting from scratch.  This feature especially comes in handy for the new hires.

Cons:
If they could mirror the same features in the offline system as they have in their online one that would be great.

Easy Charting

Pros:
I was skeptical of going electronic but that’s the need of the hour and so we did. We chose Allscripts because of its ease of use mainly. Customization, charting and referral have never been easier for us. I like how smoothly we can send out e-prescriptions to the pharmacies.

Cons:
Their upgrades are done frequently which for me is a bit overwhelming for someone who has used paper charts throughout. However, their customer support is always there to assist us with any challenges we face.

Security

Pros:
This product has all the latest security measures in place which makes it secure for me to send out any referrals. Allscripts EMR is updated with all the latest accreditation and government regulations. Apart from that, it is easy to maneuver and the overall workflow is very efficient.

Cons:
One drawback that I found out was its inability to run on all kinds of applications which I hope they will work on.

Comprehensive EMR

Pros:
This EMR has everything a practice should need. We are able to document and keep a track of the volume of our patients effectively. Moving from paper charts to electronic was not an easy decision for us to make. However, we are glad we decided to go with Allscripts after sitting through a number of demos with other EMR providers. Everyone is able to access the data they need without any trouble.

Cons:
None so far. EMR has a lot of features and I’m sure in going to run into problems while exploring but I’m relying on their efficient customer service for assistance.

Efficient EMR System

Pros:
I know there isn’t a perfect EMR software but I believe Allscripts has come relatively close to it. I knew that we are never going to go with a default version of the EMR so we worked hard during the implementation process and customized the solution so that it fits the needs of our practice. I pretty much like everything about the system and especially how we can tailor it for our use.

Cons:
Their entire system is highly efficient except for their scheduling part. I want the ability to be able to schedule the patients from their charts which I am unable to.

Excellent Selection for our practice

Pros:
We are so happy with the system. The implementation team at Allscripts helped us with the transition and we had some of the best staff from their company to train us on the product before we went live.  The product is simple and easier to use which makes the workflow pretty smooth.

Cons:
Hardly ever faced issues and it could be perhaps we are still exploring the system. Just some trouble with lag time and delayed responses but not too often to even notice.

Allscripts for primary care specialty

Pros:
Locating and accessing data in this EHR system is very convenient and does not require too many steps. I previously used a different Electonic Health Records system at my previous practice, transitioning to this system was fairly easy. The advantages are including back office reports that are kept running on a weekly basis for different projects, for example, Meaningful Use, MIPS and PCMH.

Cons:
The system freezes too frequently. There are some features that do not work as they are supposed to and leave much to be desired such as the in-app emailing service and faxing. I hope they improve their workability in future updates.
