“The essential ETL component for a data warehouse”
Pros
I have worked with both on premise and cloud operating models using Talend Data Integration (TDI). While the cloud model changes the way objects and environments are handled it very much simplifies access to the TAC. Also it removes all barriers for managing and maintaining the administration console. The added features in the Cloud Administration Console like Data Preparation and Data Steward are a great addition too. And on the TDI side, it perfectly addresses all our integration needs from handling different data sources to producing Datamarts. Its noCode mode and comprehensive documentation make it easy for new developers to integrate into projects.
Cons
It has not really changed much in the last decade to be honest as the technical features remain largely the same. However the only change I noticed is that the pricing model has become much more expensive since Qlik acquired Talend.

“Gets the job done”
Pros
Talend Data Integration promotes collaboration between different services and simplifies data ingestion from multiple sources like Azure, AWS, on premise etc. Also it supports nearly every file type and I find the data quality check features are excellent.
Cons
The connectivity with external services like Azure is not as smooth as it is with Azure Data Factory. Also when I am dealing with large data volumes, it tend to slow down compared to other services.
