“The essential ETL component for a data warehouse
Pros
I have worked with both on premise and cloud operating models using Talend Data Integration (TDI). While the cloud model changes the way objects and environments are handled it very much simplifies access to the TAC. Also it removes all barriers for managing and maintaining the administration console. The added features in the Cloud Administration Console like Data Preparation and Data Steward are a great addition too. And on the TDI side, it perfectly addresses all our integration needs from handling different data sources to producing Datamarts. Its noCode mode and comprehensive documentation make it easy for new developers to integrate into projects.
Cons
It has not really changed much in the last decade to be honest as the technical features remain largely the same. However the only change I noticed is that the pricing model has become much more expensive since Qlik acquired Talend.

“Seamless integration with anything
Pros
It is easy to set up and the simple UI components make creating automated data integration flows a simple task for me.
Cons
Talend DI is a local tool so its performance depends on the configuration of our local machine which causes trouble at times.

“Gets the job done
Pros
Talend Data Integration promotes collaboration between different services and simplifies data ingestion from multiple sources like Azure, AWS, on premise etc. Also it supports nearly every file type and I find the data quality check features are excellent.
Cons
The connectivity with external services like Azure is not as smooth as it is with Azure Data Factory. Also when I am dealing with large data volumes, it tend to slow down compared to other services.

“One of the best ETL tools
Pros
With its wide range of applications and palettes connecting to various data sources is pretty simple and transforming the data is easy. Plus designing jobs is also simple with it.
Cons
Setting up and configuring the software is quite challenging. Also I noticed there is a learning curve when it comes to the graphical interface.

“makes data engineering so much easier
Pros
It is the perfect ETL tool for data integration. Plus the internal connectors allow me to transfer data between databases seamlessly. The result of it is that building a data warehouse is much easier for me now as Talend provides specific warehouse methodology utilities.
Cons
Since the application is Java based, you will encounter error messages that can be misleading and make it difficult to find a solution. Also I noticed that the studio edition of Talend runs slowly even with powerful hardware.

“A great low-code ETL integration tool
Pros
The user friendly mapping concepts make it quite easy to use. Other than this I have not found anything so special about it.
Cons
Well for now the interface relies a lot on mouse support. So I feel like it would be great if keyboard shortcuts were introduced.

“Big data management made easy with this amazing ETL tool
Pros
Talend Data Integration software provides all the services I need for big data extraction, loading and transformation. Also I have used it for a company project and it delivered excellent performance.
Cons
There is not much to dislike but one issue I come across is that it is difficult to find useful code examples for Talend online. As the Talend website is the only real source to rely on.

“Helps in managing data
Pros
The services and the visualization of the dashboard from mapping to the final storage are quite impressive to me. Also the support is excellent.
Cons
There are not any significant cons but due to competition and pricing, I think some may prefer opting for the business leaders in the industry.

“Paving the way for future cloud solutions
Pros
There is quite a lot to like about but a few things I would like to mention are that the administration is simple and task scheduling with it is pretty easy too.
Cons
In the data dictionary I think they should provide an option to add country-specific address dictionaries to improve validation.

“A powerful tool for managing data and governance in the cloud
Pros
It is an end to end cloud monitoring solution that includes database management, building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines and much more. Overall I find it quite an easy to use tool.
Cons
Some features and options are nested within each other which requires us to follow a repetitive series of steps to perform certain operations. Kind of annoying!
