Reaper stands out as the best DAW, period

Pros

The price is pretty good for what you get and the features are solid. It's quite difficult to use but once you get the hang of it, it's great. Plus the community is very helpful.

Cons

The updates come too often for my liking and I'd rather see fewer but more meaningful ones. It feels like some updates don't really change much.

So simple to use

Pros

It's really simple to use and the best part is it's lightweight, so it doesn't require a super powerful computer to run. It works perfectly fine on my setup.

Cons

There aren't many built-in libraries and effects, so I often find myself looking for other sources to get what I need.

Definitely better than Protools

Pros

I love that it doesn't take up all my computer's resources like Protools does. It's light on the system, so I can run other apps at the same time without a problem.

Cons

I really wish the keyboard shortcuts were easier to set up. It's tricky to program them to my liking.
