What Is AnyLogic?

AnyLogic is a multimethod simulation modeling software used for analyzing and optimizing complex systems across various industries. It allows users to build digital models that mimic real-world processes like supply chains, manufacturing workflows, transportation networks, or customer behavior and then run simulations to test how they perform under different conditions.

Think of it as a virtual lab where you can experiment with business decisions before making them a reality. For example, you could simulate a warehouse to see what happens if you add more robots, change delivery routes, or face a sudden surge in demand—without any real-world risks.

It stands out as the only tool that combines three modeling methods (agent-based, discrete-event, and system dynamics) into one platform, giving you the flexibility to tackle complex problems from multiple angles.

In simple terms, AnyLogic is a powerful ‘what-if’ tool. It helps you predict how things will work (or fail) before they happen, using data and simulation instead of guesswork.

AnyLogic Pricing

It offers three distinct editions to suit different needs: the Personal Learning Edition (free), the University Researcher, and the Professional. While the site does not publicly list pricing details, you can contact us for AnyLogic pricing information based on your requirements.

AnyLogic Integration

This system connects with a wide range of technologies to support simulation, automation, and data-driven decision-making. While it’s built to work with programming languages and data systems like Java, Python, and SQL databases, it also integrates with standalone tools that extend its machine learning, modeling, and visualization capabilities.

Here are some of the key tools AnyLogic integrates with:

  • H2O.ai
  • ONNX (Open Neural Network Exchange)
  • NVIDIA Omniverse

Who Is AnyLogic For?

AnyLogic is ideal for organizations across various industries looking to model, simulate, and optimize complex systems. It’s especially valuable for teams operating in the following sectors:

  • Industries
  • Supply chains
  • Manufacturing
  • Transportation
  • Warehouse operations
  • Mining
  • Healthcare

Is AnyLogic Right For You?

If you're working with systems that are constantly changing—like supply chains, manufacturing operations, or transportation networks—AnyLogic gives you the flexibility to build simulations that reflect that complexity. With support for multimethod modeling, cloud access, and API integrations, it adapts well to both technical and business environments.

The software is used by well-known organizations such as Google, IBM, Microsoft, and NASA, which speaks volumes about its reliability at scale. It’s not limited to one industry or use case. Instead, it’s the kind of platform that fits into different workflows, depending on how deep or detailed your modeling needs to be.

AnyLogic Features

AnyLogic is the only simulation software that combines three modern modeling methods, ‘Agent-based’, ‘Discrete Event’, and ‘System Dynamics’, into a single platform. This allows users to tackle complex systems with flexibility, whether simulating individual agent behaviors (e.g., consumer choices), operational workflows (e.g., production lines), or high-level strategic trends (e.g., market dynamics). The ability to mix methods in one model provides unparalleled adaptability for industries like logistics, healthcare, and manufacturing.

See How It Works

AnyLogic offers specialized libraries such as the Material Handling Library (for warehouses), Road Traffic Library (for vehicle movement), and Pedestrian Library (for crowd simulations). These pre-built tools accelerate model development by providing ready-to-use components like conveyors, AGVs, or traffic rules, reducing coding effort and ensuring accuracy in sector-specific scenarios.

See How It Works

Users can embed real-world geographic data into models using GIS maps, enabling simulations of supply chains, urban traffic, or disaster response scenarios. Features like built-in Google Maps-style search and route tracking based on spatial data enhance realism and planning precision. For example, logistics models can optimize delivery routes using actual road networks.

See How It Works

AnyLogic Cloud enables teams to run, share, and analyze models online via web dashboards. It supports high-performance computing for large-scale experiments and allows stakeholders to access simulations from any device. This feature is ideal for remote collaboration, digital twin development, and delivering client-facing solutions without local software installation.

See How It Works

Models can be brought to life with interactive 2D/3D animations, including custom CAD drawings or NVIDIA Omniverse integrations for photorealistic renders. This feature enhances stakeholder communication by transforming abstract data into tangible scenarios (e.g., factory layouts or pedestrian flows in airports) and aids in debugging visually tracking system behavior in real time.

Makes PLC simple

Pros

The layout is super easy to use and design. The drag and drop features are simple to use and it connects easily to the PLC. Incredibly easy once you get the hang of it.

Cons

The connection sometimes doesnt work. It can be a bit confusing for a new user to figure out how everything works. Gets easier once you get used to it.

Versatile yet complicated

Pros

I find Anylogic to be super flexible. Being able to combine agent based, discrete event and system dynamics in one platform is awesome. The integration with Java lets you control everything and the built in libraries save me so much time. Its perfect for handling complex real world simulations.

Cons

As great a tool as it is, it can be a bit complicated to learn especially if youre not familiar with programming. A lot of the advanced features need Java coding which makes it unusable for some people.
