iO Practiceware EHR Software

Founded in 2003, iO Practiceware is an electronic health record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) software designed to automate workflows in an ophthalmology setting. The software combines advanced features such as auto coding and touch screen with ophthalmology-specific practice management software, image, and EHR systems. Its touchscreen interface eliminates drop-down menus and offers a big-button design, making recording notes easier in the exam room. Key features include insurance management, patient records, inventory management, appointment management, and recall tracking. Their system also automates clinical follow-ups, referral letters, and coding. The team at iO Practiceware designed their product keeping in view the needs of ophthalmologists, offering tools that help them to work more efficiently and improve patient care.

The user-friendly platform offers high-level customization to display the most critical information on clinical screens. Users can enter data using the drawing feature via the touchscreen to record observations as visual information, thus saving time by minimizing the data entry process. iO Practiceware interprets visual information and translates it into clinical fields. Their intuitive interface comes with a “highlights" screen to provide instant access to important diagnoses and events spanning a patient's medical history.

The EHR solution supports integration with record results and test equipment at the click of a button. iO Practiceware is also available as Windows and SaaS software.  It adheres to the guidelines of HIPAA and is certified as a system that meets Meaningful Stage 1 and stage 2 requirements. The software’s scheduling tool works across multiple locations – allows patients to schedule appointments online and confirm follow-ups. Its scheduling grid allows physicians to enter and save important information directly from the exam room to be reminded at check out. It can be hosted in the cloud or deployed on-premise, so users can decide which one better fits their practice's needs.
