“Great visuals with helpful trend insights”
Pros
Compared with most similar tools, the visualizations in Tableau are better and make it simple to spot trends and pull useful insights from the data.
Cons
At the same time, there's a lot on the screen and a lot to work through which can feel pretty overwhelming when you're new to the platform.

“Visuals that make data easy to understand”
Pros
As someone without a technical background, raw data on a page can be tough to interpret and turn into something meaningful. Tableau really helps by transforming numbers into visual charts, diagrams and other graphics that make the information much more tangible and understandable.
Cons
One thing I'd really want is more guidance on using the tool especially for non-technical users who just want to build simple reports. Some kind of general training or basic walkthrough would be very helpful.

“Strong visuals for data insights”
Pros
Tableau has huge potential when it comes to presenting our data in a way that looks visually appealing while also delivering meaningful insights. It provides a great way to organize complex employee data into a format that is highly effective for supporting important decision-making.
Cons
We're pleased with what we've been able to accomplish with it and honestly have no complaints at all.

“Stunning dashboards with great visuals”
Pros
After loading nine years of sales data into the Tableau desktop client, I was blown away by the visualizations it produced. Everything from US sales heat maps by state to combined bar and line charts for reps, customers and vendors looked incredibly polished. The variety and quality of BI dashboards you can build with this product are honestly impressive. We're still only in the testing phase but at this point it's looking very professional.
Cons
The biggest downside is the price since it's definitely not cheap. It also really requires a full understanding of your data and the way it handles aggregation. Like most BI front-end tools, it applies assumptions behind the scenes and those may not always match what you actually need. If you're going to use it well, you really have to know your data inside and out.

“A powerful tool for pivot-style analysis”
Pros
Pivot-style analysis is a big plus for me and Tableau really leans into that approach which makes it simple to build out the analysis ideas I come up with.
Cons
Tthe price, it feels too expensive compared with tools like Python and Excel that can deliver the same kind of analysis.

“Secure server with a handy search”
Pros
Having a secure server to store our larger data sets has been a big plus and the search function is very user friendly.
Cons
At times it takes a while to load because the data source is so large and that can slow me down when I need to support customers quickly and efficiently.

“Great visuals but poor sales experience”
Pros
There's a lot to like in Tableau when it comes to the visuals. The charts and dashboards look exactly how you'd want them to, with plenty of options available to choose from. The color schemes work really well, the overall design seems great and the customization tools are powerful enough to give you full control while also keeping data secure.
Cons
Where things really fell apart for us was in dealing with the sales team. They came across as arrogant and didn't seem genuinely interested in building a successful partnership, only in closing the deal for their commission. That experience ended up hurting them in our bake-off and we ultimately chose a competitor instead.

“Detailed visuals with great control”
Pros
The visualizations are really well done and there's strong control over the finer details which makes it useful when building out exactly what you need.
Cons
Where it falls short is that it feels a bit behind the curve when it comes to system support, interfaces and newer data formats. They do catch up eventually but it can be pretty frustrating when you're trying to handle third-party integrations in the meantime.

“Strong dashboards with good integration”
Pros
One of the best parts is how well it integrates with a wide range of databases. It really helps teams and organizations become more data-driven since users can analyze and visualize their information through self-service dashboards for themselves or for other stakeholders. It also feels secure and flexible enough to adapt to different business needs.
Cons
The biggest downside is the high cost and it also takes quite a bit of training before users can take full advantage of everything it offers.

Pros
Tableau is highly customizable and it lets you build a wide range of dashboards to track business operations at either a detailed level or a big-picture view.

“Simple and quick to learn”
Pros
This program is reliable and I was able to learn it mostly just by using it. I rarely needed to search for functions and overall the interface and workflow were fairly simple.
Cons
The basic features were simple enough to use but some specific chart types and finer details were not immediately obvious. It still works well for basic projects though getting the most out of the software does take some extra digging and learning.

“Flexible visuals with great data handling”
Pros
The visualization tools are fantastic and the different ways you can pivot data make the platform incredibly useful. It integrates with all of our systems too which lets us cross-tabulate information and clearly measure the impact of our marketing efforts.
Cons
The interface doesn't seem very user friendly and it could definitely use a more modern design so people with less advanced skills can move around it more comfortably.

“Fast learning with strong data handling”
Pros
Getting started with it was quick because the interface was simple to work with and it can manage a large volume of information without much trouble.
Cons
It does a good job when it comes to analyzing data and saving information but there's a limitation with account access. If I save information in my premium account, I cannot open that same information from my public account and the same issue happens the other way around.

“Useful daily insights for users”
Pros
Day to day it is an essential part of my work. When you're dealing with a platform that has millions of users and thousands more joining every day, it gives me a practical way to visualize the data and keep everything manageable.
Cons
There are times when it seems a bit glitchy. Basic actions like sort or alphabetize sometimes just refuse to work properly for me.
