“decent but agenda setup could improve”
Pros
I can collect all of our board documents in a single location so the board can review everything together. That centralized document storage is really the main benefit I'm getting from it.
Cons
Agenda setup is where it falls short for us, we can't schedule the time per agenda item the way we expected. The Board actually liked the idea of seeing a total expected meeting length but overall the agenda experience isn't as user-friendly as BoardPaq. BoardPaq felt like a better fit for our workflow.

“Helpful attendance tracking”
Pros
Documents can be added in basically any file type directly to the meeting book which is super handy. I also really appreciate the attendance feature, it makes it easy to see who actually showed up for meetings and who didn't.
Cons
Can be a bit confusing because the same types of items seem to show up in more than one place so once you're still learning the platform it's harder to track things down. I'd also prefer the library in a specific work room to be ordered sequentially from top to bottom, instead of bottom to top.

“effortless document upload”
Pros
So I first heard about it from a director on a different board who recommended the platform. The upload experience is really easy and getting documents into board packets takes very little effort.
Cons
One hiccup I ran into was with an Excel file, when it was added to the board packets, it didn't open correctly. I ended up having to save each individual tab as a separate PDF just to make everything viewable which was pretty annoying.

“unified notifications really help”
Pros
Really happy that this platform helps cut down on paper and that all my communication and meeting notifications show up in one place. It makes it a lot simpler to stay on top of everything without juggling different tools or printouts.
Cons
A few of the educational videos feel too general, they don't always match the specific issues I'm running into. That said, the help desk support has been solid and they assist well. I'd also like to see stronger training resources especially more user-focused videos instead of mostly admin-focused ones. Finally, it would be great if Boardeffect looked and behaved the same way on an iPhone as it does on a PC since some steps differ.

“keeps everything organized”
Pros
Having all meeting documents stored in one place is super convenient and the app's way of notifying everyone at once saves a lot of back-and-forth. It also makes it easier to stay on top of which meetings are coming up soon. The attendance sheet has been genuinely helpful for tracking participation and even though I haven't used the minute-taking feature yet, it's nice knowing it's there when we need it.
Cons
Browsing by the category list can be a little tricky, things aren't always as quick to locate as they should be. It would help to have more dropdown filters to narrow down exactly what you're looking for. It also feels like the reminders could be improved, adding an option to send a reminder like an email for upcoming meetings would make follow-up more reliable.

“Handy templates and detailed reporting”
Pros
It's genuinely simple to use. everything you need stays in one place so related info is centralized instead of scattered across different spots. The built-in templates are especially handy and the reporting tools make it easy to analyze how often people show up or how frequently certain activity happens.
Cons
I've got nothing negative to say about it

“A complete document hub !”
Pros
To have a central, shared document repository that board members can access for both upcoming and past meetings is a big plus. It keeps everything in one place and makes it simpler to stay aligned on the materials.
Cons
Navigation still takes a few extra clicks, moving between pages and sections inside a board meeting book can feel a bit dated. I'd prefer it if the table of contents had direct links to the relevant pages so jumping from one section to another would be quicker and more easy.

“Easy to navigate”
Pros
This is a really solid way to store Board and governance documents all in one place. The layout is easy and it's simple to navigate when you're looking for specific materials.
Cons
Not exactly a dealbreaker, more of a wish. I'd love to see ready-made templates added for items like board satisfaction surveys, conflict of interest documents and similar recurring paperwork.

“good document library”
Pros
Genuinely, it upgraded the way we run our board process. It helps us put together consistent board packets, offers a centralized library for important documents we need right at our fingertips and makes it easy to share board information with our auditors.

I have no cons to report

“Friendly UX”
Pros
It's really user friendly and feels easy for both me and my Board members. I can make changes on the spot and push updates either to everyone or just to a select group.
Cons
Editing messages can be a bit awkward.. sometimes the formatting doesn't stay exactly as I set it. I also wish meetings could be run directly inside the tool, with a recording automatically saved in the library for anyone who couldn't attend.
