“Poor support despite useful features”
Pros
There are plenty of functions in IFS and on paper they match what we need very well and with the help of the manual it's possible to figure out some smaller tasks on your own.
Cons
The biggest frustration has been the quality of the advice we get. Quite often, the consultants seem unfamiliar with how parts of their own system actually work which leaves our team having to investigate and test features ourselves just to understand them properly. Bug handling is also not handled very well and even when they acknowledge that something is a design flaw in the software, it still seems unlikely that they will fix it. On top of that there is no large open online community which makes it harder to find help or shared knowledge.

“all in one solution”
Pros
From sales opportunities all the way through product delivery, it covers the full process that we need.
Cons
It isn't always very user friendly and if you don't have strong knowledge of the specific areas you're working in, troubleshooting can be difficult. A lot of the time, it's hard to figure out where the missing or invalid data is coming from.

“Very reliable”
Pros
After the setup is done, it runs really well. It's also a web-based application which is something I appreciate.
Cons
If I could change one thing, I'd want IFS to be available as either a SQL-based or Oracle-based product.

“great at record keeping”
Pros
One of the best parts is how well it captures data and keeps past records available.
Cons
The biggest challenge at first was searching for older data although that became much easier once I had more experience with the system.

“not very knowledgeable support team”
Pros
IFS customer support team responds quickly. The different user group meetings have also been very valuable and enjoyable to be part of.
Cons
Initial installation process was pretty rough. It didn't seem like the consultants fully understood what we needed which made the transition to our first ERP harder than it should have been.

“A bit overwhelming at first”
Pros
Getting to know your way around the application doesn't take much time at all.
Cons
When you're just starting out with the program there are just too many windows and screens involved for a single application which makes it feel more cluttered than it should.

“user friendly for power operations”
Pros
It's a very user friendly product with plenty of features that fit the power sector well. One of the biggest advantages is how customizable it is and users can learn it without much difficulty.
Cons
A downside is that issue resolution and customization work tend to take too long.

“frustrating interface”
Pros
Honestly, nothing positive stands out to me.
Cons
After four years of using IFS Applications at our company, it still feels confusing and difficult to navigate. Not long after we moved over to IFS, it became obvious to users that the software didn't even feel as polished as an alpha version and it really hasn't improved with time. On top of that IFS won't address the product's shortcomings unless we pay them a substantial amount of money.
