Customizable and time-saving

Pros

What I like the most about it is how customizable it is for each client. Not every business works the same and it lets me set everything up based on how my clients do things. It gives me a one-stop solution for their financial reports and all sorts of other business integrations. A lot of tasks and entries can be automated which saves me a ton of time. That time-saving helps me get financial reports to clients on time every month. Plus it syncs well with other Thomson Reuters products, like Ultra Tax for tax prep. Using it for payroll is great because everything is mapped correctly on the accounting side so I don't have to deal with separate software for payroll entries.

Cons

it is super powerful and has a ton of features but it needs to be set up correctly from the start. When you first buy the software, you work with a sales rep who sells you the product but they don't really know how to set it up. Even though Thompson Reuters offers an implementation team to help you migrate some data from other apps, as a user, you still have to learn the system and do a lot of the setup and mapping yourself. I spent a lot of time with trial and error and sometimes some entries can't be undone once they are recorded which caused me some issues.

best for accounting

Pros

it is awesome because it's so easy to use even if you are not very tech-savvy. Getting started is super simple and I was up and running pretty quickly. The customer support is amazing...they are always there when I need help. With a lot of features like reporting tools and tax prep, it really covers everything you need for accounting. It's built for everyday use so it's reliable for ongoing financial management. Also it integrates smoothly with other software... so my workflow is much easier. It's a great option if you want to make your accounting processes more efficient.

Cons

One downside is that it can feel overwhelming for new users because of all the features. Some people find it slow especially when handling a lot of data and the pricing might not be the best fit for smaller businesses.

Perfect for payroll with tricky setup process

Pros

I absolutely love the combination of features in it. It lets me do payroll, process tax forms, handle bank reconciliations and manage accounting... all in one place.

Cons

setup process can be tricky but at least there's support available.

works for payroll but lacks emailing reports

Pros

I appreciate the bulk payroll processing feature and the ability to update or make changes for multiple clients at once. The security setup for staff and clients is also very helpful.

Cons

support is great and I love the client access for firm hosting. However theres no way to email client reports directly from the program and it's pretty complex making it tough to train new staff.

very easy to use

Pros

I love how incredibly smooth and easy-to-use the program is. using this too is very simple and the payroll system is particularly user friendly.

Cons

I usually have a good experience with customer service but sometimes it feels like the reps know the functions but not how accountants actually use the software.

friendly dashboard with dated functionality

Pros

Dashboard is super friendly and I can easily access the features I use most. Setting up custom report profiles is a great touch because I don't have to create the same reports over and over again.

Cons

Some of the functionality and transitions feel a little outdated.

Pros

it makes everything so much easier to manage�.I love that all of our client info is stored in one place.

simple to print reports

Pros

incredibly easy to print reports and stay organized with this program. Everything is laid out so clearly that I can keep track of my clients easily.

Cons

The program moves slower than I can think especially when doing payroll. When you are on a deadline and have a lot to do, you really want the program to keep up with you.

Amazing software!

Pros

Such an amazing inventory control system. It's packed with excellent features especially the dashboards which are super helpful for managing accounting tasks. I love that they offer free demos so you can get a feel for the accounting and financial features at all levels. One thing I really appreciate is the unique user-customer collaboration setup..it makes communication between users and clients smooth. The customization options are top-notch and the software can be tailored to fit any company's needs, no matter where they are in the world. Plus it integrates smoothly with other financial and accounting software making everything much easier. This software is truly wonderful!

Cons

We have never had any major issues or complaints. The only thing I'd suggest is for the management team to keep updating the software's features to improve its efficiency.

works for clients but screen freezes often

Pros

super easy to use between clients and engagements. I love how customizable the drop-downs are and linking it with other software platforms is a piece of cake.

Cons

I've often run into problems with the screen freezing when trying to save large files in engagement. I usually have to ask IT to back up the files to ensure everything is saved. I am not sure if it's an ACS issue or if it's a problem with our network.

Solid for small business

Pros

Its fantastic for small business bookkeeping, accounting and payroll. It's designed to work well with other accounting software which makes it a solid choice for accountants. The software covers all the basics like standard accounting and financial functions, plus it has cash management capabilities. One of my favorite features is the bank reconciliation with bank feeds, it lets me import bank statements directly into the software and easily reconcile everything.

Cons

it doesn't support multi-currency which is a letdown. It also tends to lag when handling clients with a lot of data. When we switched from our old software to this one, we lost several reports we used regularly and the staff (who are not ACS experts) had to recreate them. The report designer is also a pain, it requires you to format each cell individually which makes creating financial statements and reports a lot more time-consuming.

easy to use and it works great with the other products we use. They offer a whole suite of tools so we can use the tax software along with the trial balance and fixed asset software.

Cons

It does take some time to get used to and you'll need a little training at first.

Improved from old software

Pros

A complete software package that integrates perfectly with Thompson's Ultra Tax and Electronic File Cabinets.

Cons

I like that you can post to different monthly periods which is an improvement over the old Creative Solutions Accounting program. We have just installed the program and I am still learning how everything works but so far, I think it's better than the older program.

friendly but takes up too much space

Pros

The conversion from Creative Solutions (the previous version of the software) was super easy. The staff is really knowledgeable if I ever run into any issues and the software is user-friendly with frequent updates to fix any glitches.

Cons

The software itself is pretty big and takes up a lot of space on your hard drive. While it's not overly expensive compared to other accounting software, that's only for the basic package. If you want cloud-based service, it's going to cost you quite a bit more. Plus backing up and restoring clients or databases across multiple computers is a bit of a challenge.

easy to use but poor integration

Pros

I love how easy it is to use. The different tabs are spot on and I can easily access all the information from the top toolbar.

Cons

worst part for me is the integration between the trial balance view and the accounts payable info. When I click on the payment amount in the trial balance, it almost never takes me directly to that AP entry which is super annoying.

Broken promises�

Pros

Honestly nothing works as promised with it. It's been nothing but broken promises.

Cons

Its slow, the sales department is dishonest, the support is awful, the software is inaccurate and it's just too bulky. Thompson Reuters doesn't seem to care about its customers at all.

Quick data entry with slow updates

Pros

Data entry is so quick and easy with it. They have got different setups to suit everyone's preferences which is really convenient. Plus the support team is super helpful whenever I need assistance.

Cons

updates can be really slow when there are problems with the software.
