Identifies potential in T&E

Pros

AI flags high-risk items which makes auditing T&E reports a lot faster compared to doing it manually. Plus the expense workbench is really easy to use and navigate. Their customer support is also quick to address any issues we come across.

Cons

Like any AI the effectiveness depends on how it is set up. There are recurring false positives in the same categories and although we have reported this to Appzen, the developers are slow to release updates.

Reliable partner for managing expenses

Pros

What I love most about the Appzen tool is how precise it is with finance management tasks. And it integrates seamlessly with Concur Expense which makes it incredibly convenient for me since I frequently use Concur.

Cons

There are not many things I dislike about it but one downside is its complexity. Some features take a long time to fully understand and it can be a bit challenging for new users.

Simplifies expense auditing

Pros

As someone new to the T&E field AppZen's rule based auditing has been a game changer. The automation catches issues right away letting me focus on more important work. Plus its smooth integration with Concur and user friendly interface have been essential. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to simplify their expense management.

Cons

While the system is strong and efficient I feel like it would be great to have more options to customize rules without needing additional support.

Works the best for me!

Pros

AppZen helps us audit employee expenses based on a customized model and they are constantly rolling out new tools to make my job easier and create more value for my company.

Cons

As a global company the current process for making adjustments across all audit models is slow and cumbersome but we expect improvements in the near future.

Good but expensive

Pros

Being able to adjust risk thresholds is really valuable. Plus the dashboard view and sorting fields are also proven really helpful to us.

Cons

I find it a bit expensive. Also not all fields, attributes or comments in Chrome River show up on the AppZen dashboard. The customer support responses often include technical terms that confuse me as a non tech user. Also I wish AppZen did not time out. I switch between Chrome River and AppZen all day and I'd like to keep it open without interruptions. When I am rejecting a report I like to easily reference the line items but the report does not allow me to scroll through them easily. Instead I have to use my keyboard's up/down arrows.

Never there to resolve the issues!

Pros

90% of approvals are automated. Also it is easy to use and something I rely on daily.

Cons

The 10% of items that are not auto-approved represents around 1,000 audits we review every month mostly FPOS. When something does not work as intended, it takes a long time to get resolved. We have had cases open for three years that are only now being addressed. Also there is poor communication between Concur and AppZen which requires the business to get involved. And it often takes frequent follow-ups.
