“budget control and fast reimbursements”
Pros
Brex has been a fantastic fit for our team when it comes to managing and controlling expenses. It works almost perfectly with our accounting software and it gives everyone the ability to handle card transactions and keep an eye on budgets in near real time. Getting new users up to speed takes hardly any effort at all. Reimbursements and repayments also move through quickly using linked bank accounts. The approval workflows and security features are excellent and both can be customized to match internal policies. The free version was not enough for our needs but the paid plan has absolutely been worth the investment.
Cons
A couple of things still bother me. The first is the default statement layout. Merchant categories do not always match the actual products or services bought from a vendor which can make things a bit confusing so having another statement view would be helpful. The second is that exports to the accounting system have to be triggered manually. If that happened automatically once transactions completed the approval workflow, it would make the platform even better.

“Loved it”
Pros
Everything is in one place and it integrates well with third party platforms. Also the reporting works really well and we are able to monitor costs by location and by application. Sending and receiving money is also very easy.
Cons
The only real downsides are that it only supports a USD account and doesn't accept check payments. International payment fees are also a little on the high side. Other than that everything has been fine.

“excellent card controls and compliance”
Pros
Navigating the platform has been really easy both for me as an admin and for my team in day to day use. The card features are especially strong, with clear spending limit controls and really decent compliance tools. The banking side also seems just as capable as I'd expect from more traditional systems.
Cons
One downside is that the rewards offered in the earlier days of using the platform have decreased even for long time legacy customers like us.

“user friendly and beginner friendly”
Pros
The user friendly design makes it very approachable and it is simple enough even for entry-level users.
Cons
Only annoyance is that it tends to auto fill receipts on its own.

“Not worth the time”
Pros
Their customer support does respond quickly and the frequent interest payouts tied to the credit cards are a nice benefit.
Cons
It like a lot of newer tech-first banks: overbuilt and awkward when it comes to basic banking tasks. For everyday operations they only offer credit cards and not debit cards. That may be nice for earning small interest-related perks but it makes simple cash flow tracking much harder than it should be. International wires were also a hassle because they require a third party bank to receive them. I had several international clients run into problems with the wording and coding needed just to get transfers processed. The account closure process was the worst part. After closing the account through the online portal, the page showed an Account Closed confirmation but the credit cards stayed active and could still be charged. There was no warning anywhere that you also have to call customer service to close the cards. You cannot do that online and closing the account does not automatically cancel them or even prompt you to contact support. About six weeks after I had closed the account, LinkedIn pushed through an unexpected charge on my card. When I contacted support to dispute it, they refused to reverse the fraudulent charge even though that kind of protection is a standard reason businesses rely on credit cards instead of debit cards. They also would not take responsibility for the fact that the account had been closed for six weeks and the card should never have remained chargeable. I ended up stuck with the $108 charge and only after that did they finally close the cards. It is a backend user-flow problem that should never have been allowed to continue.

“flexible reports and awesome tracking”
Pros
Brex really stands out for its cards and reporting tools. The AP management and expense tracking are excellent and I also love how simple it is for anyone on the team to customize reports as needed.
Cons
I've had a good experience with the product overall. The only downside is that support can sometimes be a bit slow when responding to questions or issues.

“powerful autofill and flexible budgets”
Pros
The platform is very user friendly, the AI autofill does a really good job pulling details from uploaded receipts and the budget management options are flexible and practical.
Cons
The Android app had a broken login issue for quite a while and submitting multiple expenses at once could still be made more efficient.

“Great options after setup”
Pros
It takes quite a bit of setup to get everything configured properly but once that's done, the platform offers a lot of options and performs really well. You do have to be ready to spend time learning the full feature set if you want to customize it properly.
Cons
Getting it dialed in takes a lot of setup and there's definitely a time investment upfront. To really make the most of all the customization available, you need to be willing to spend time learning how the different features work.

“Decent software”
Pros
The physical credit cards have a really nice design and having receipts upload plus spending tracked right from the dashboard has been very convenient.
Cons
One thing that was frustrating at the start was not being able to edit GL codes in the mobile app even though that capability had been presented to us as available. We specifically needed that feature so it was a real downside.

“setup was quick”
Pros
Getting this product up and running was easy and handling credit limits, uploading receipts, adding notes and similar tasks has been very simple. The interface also looks modern and is pleasant to work in.
Cons
Early on keeping the bank connection active could be a bit frustrating especially 4+ years ago. Then when we changed banks this year, I had to reconnect the new account. It was only a small inconvenience since the setup itself was simple but it always seemed to need attention at the worst possible time.

“Good for trip budget tracking”
Pros
With how much our team travels the trips feature has been a huge help. We can add employees to a specific trip and have their expenses tied directly to the right budget. That setup has made it much easier to monitor spending by trip and by customer which has really improved the way we track travel costs.
Cons
Parts of the interface still feel a little confusing and that can leave room for user mistakes. We have about 150 employees, many of them traveling often so we use it to set spending guardrails. The problem is that we sometimes run into issues when employees charge expenses to the wrong budget or when the controls on trip spending end up being too restrictive.

“feature packed rewards and control”
Pros
Brex packs in a lot of useful features from a strong points program and virtual cards to amazing expense management and the platform is also very simple to use.

One downside is that not every business qualifies. I've referred a few companies and they weren't accepted.

“Proven useful for us!”
Pros
One of the biggest advantages is that founders don't need to provide a personal guarantee to get a credit card which is especially helpful for startups or businesses without much credit history yet. Plus being able to generate multiple virtual cards is also really handy for contractors. On top of that you can assign spending limits and track exactly how each active card is being used directly from the dashboard which gives a lot of visibility and control.
Cons
The credit limit changes over time which can sometimes work in your favor but the way it's determined isn't very transparent, so you are often left unsure about how much you can actually spend. Because of that it's not reliable enough to be your only payment option and having a backup card or payment method is pretty important especially while traveling.

“account switch was a nightmare”
Pros
Honestly there wasn't anything positive to call out here as it's just a credit card and the overall experience was very poor.
Cons
After the company was sold, switching accounts was almost impossible. The whole process took far more time and effort than it ever should have and the customer support was among the worst I've dealt with.

“Packed with great features”
Pros
Using Brex has been a really positive experience. The user friendly platform and wide range of features are easily the parts I like most. I get a text notification whenever the card is charged, we're able to set budgets and replacing an expired card is simple. Overall it is an excellent card and platform to work with.
Cons
It would be even better if there were cash back rewards or more ways to redeem and use the points.

“Easy to use and setup”
Pros
The website was pretty easy to use and opening the initial bank account didn't take much effort either. Setting up both the virtual and physical cards was also simple and quick.
Cons
Customer support still has a lot of room to improve, and the automated risk review system definitely needs work as well. On top of that the perks program has been disappointing since many of the offers don't actually work like invalid codes and when codes do come, there are often long delays or they never arrive at all.

“efficient expense tracking all around”
Pros
Handling expenses with Brex has been very efficient for our team. It lets us capture highly accurate details for every expense no matter how it was paid, whether by cash or credit card. Creating a new invoice through the mobile app is easy and the invoice scanning feature pulls the information directly into the system which saves us from manually entering numbers and other details. Connecting a credit card is simple as well and whenever we pay with the card, the payment information can be added automatically. One thing I really like is the ability to follow approvals and get notifications when final approval is completed or when another department asks for more information. The records stay very accurate and are simple to search whenever we need to review past transactions. On top of that the expense reporting tool is user friendly and helps us prepare and submit reports with very little effort.
Cons
Honestly I have not come across anything to complain about. The interface seems modern and the mobile app is well designed and very quick to get used to.
