Great Product, Excellent Value

Pros

I started using this product when it was called Billy. Since Lendio's acquisition and its transformation into Sunrise, they've added helpful features. The subscription feature for recurring invoices is the best so far, benefiting both clients and myself. The software is intuitive with more features than I use, though I believe the expense features would be beneficial for my business once I set them up.

Cons

Editing recurring invoices is somewhat cumbersome. When changes are needed, I typically delete the old one and create a new one because I've experienced instances where edited recurring invoices remain unsent in the system, which isn't ideal for us or the client.

Efficient and Easy to Use

Pros

I can create detailed client quotes in minutes and add deadlines if needed. If the client approves the quote, I can easily convert it to an invoice. It's simple to track and update payments for open invoices.

Cons

Making changes to permanent wording on invoices can be frustrating because accessing this section isn't EASY. Since it's something you rarely change, it means keeping detailed notes or contacting support each time.

Easy invoicing software for small business

Pros

I like the recurring invoicing, customized invoices, and automatic tracking of invoices paid by credit card.

Cons

My bank is smaller, and unfortunately, the software doesn't integrate with it.

Great accounting software

Pros

Although I'm not an accountant and lack extensive experience, the software's ease of use is a significant advantage. It has the core functionalities we need and many others I haven't explored, so it likely has features for advanced users. The invoicing system is excellent, easy, and customizable, with a quoting and estimating system that seamlessly converts to invoices. It also sends invoice reminders and automates payments. While I haven't used the bookkeeping system and loans offering, the other features are commendable.

Cons

It would be great to use our own domain for sending invoices and reminders instead of @sunriseapp.com. I haven't found a way to automate the invoicing process using a CSV file or tools like Zapier to avoid creating each item manually. This would save us a lot of time. I'm unsure if these features will be available later or if there's already a method, as I haven't come across them yet.

Overall a Great Product

Pros

LENDIO is incredibly easy to set up and simplifies most accounting processes. We appreciate how easy it is to upload receipts, even via mobile, and connect them to their relevant expenses.

Cons

We're still waiting for a recurring bills feature to be added. Like most companies, we have bills that need to be paid monthly. Currently, there's no way to set up recurring expenses, so we have to input these bills manually each month. Additionally, one of my bank account connections stopped working 30 days ago, which means I can't reconcile transactions without a manual download. We've been waiting over 3 weeks for Sunrise support to reconcile this, but each time we ask for an update, they're still in contact with the third-party provider to resolve the issue.

Great Feature Set for Small Business Owners Ready to Move Beyond Spreadsheets

Pros

This is the tool I recommend for any business owner or startup for double-entry accounting. It's the tool I used to get serious about my business accounting, moving out of spreadsheets. Getting organized with a chart of accounts, a real Profit/Loss statement, invoice processing/tracking/payments, and more helped me focus and grow. I purchased it when it was known as Billy, but now it's free and improving.

Cons

Initially, there's a learning curve, but it's manageable. Lendio has been enhancing Sunrise since acquiring Billy, yet there are areas that still need improvement. Not having a central account dashboard means checking transactions and balances for each account separately, rather than on one page. It would be more convenient if report settings could be saved; currently, I have to select my P/L report settings every time I run it to view monthly data for the current year.

Good software

Pros

Good software. It's easy to navigate and understand. It doesn't take much time to learn the ins and outs to become proficient. The support is top-notch when I have a question.

Cons

There's not much to dislike about the software; some things can feel repetitive, but these can be adjusted in settings.

Simple Billing Software

Pros

I don't use the accounting features, so I focus on the billing features. It's very easy to create a professional-looking invoice and share it with the customer instantly via email. It's simple to use, straightforward, and self-explanatory.

Cons

One feature I'd find helpful is being able to view invoices associated with specific products from the product overview. It would also be convenient to bulk-edit selected products, such as applying a 2% price increase across them.

Essential software

Pros

I find this software extremely intuitive. I've never had a significant issue with the app; it has always worked very well. While I likely do not use it as heavily as others might, it has been perfect for my needs. Especially come tax time, Sunrise makes the paperwork as simple as a few clicks.

Cons

Customization options are somewhat limited; for example, it repeatedly asks for tax information and to email invoices, which isn't necessary for my business. However, these are minor issues.

Sunrise by Lendio Review

Pros

This software is a smart component of my business. Yup, it's essential. Yup, it's focused on my accounting needs. Yup, it's very reasonably priced. These guys do a good job, which is accentuated by the support I get from their team. Keep up the good work!

Cons

Super Simple Bookkeeping Option for Small Nonprofit

Pros

My team is all volunteer, and we don't have the resources for a lot of expensive software or training. Using Sunrise is pretty intuitive, and you can learn the system really quick.

Cons

Having an app would be convenient. I remember there used to be one for taking photos of receipts, but I haven't been able to use it.

It's a great software

Pros

The invoicing is amazing. The software is very easy to use.

Cons

Cost of goods sold is confusing and hard to manage, voided invoices can't be reviewed, and posting expenses is cumbersome. Also, we can only connect Chase merchant accounts, which limits our options.

Its an excellent app for startups & entrepreneurs!

Pros

I absolutely love automating my invoicing process. Every month, the software automatically bills my customers and manages the transactions seamlessly. It also provides me with clear visibility into which customers aren't paying their bills, which is incredibly helpful. It's a fantastic feature.

Cons

They still lack Zapier integration, but they've invited me to join their beta program, which is promising as I want to integrate it with my all-in-one digital marketing platform, Automate CRM. This integration would streamline sign-ups and billing for my clients. Embeddable payment forms are also needed; currently, using Stripe bypasses their system, which isn't sustainable long-term. They should catch up like Waveapps, which I'm exploring due to these limitations.

Great Accounting Software

Pros

Lendio allowed me to streamline getting invoices out to clients. What was tedious before became very easy!

Cons

I really wish they had a companion app alongside the website. Sometimes, I need to access client payment history on the go, and the website isn't optimized for mobile and can be hard to navigate.
