“Plan Guru review

Pros

One of the benefits of this software is its affordable price point for the standard features it offers. I collaborated with our CFO in selecting the software, and after reviewing different suites, we found that PlanGuru provided the most value for the price.

Cons

We have encountered issues when setting up multiple user accounts that share some of the same files. It appears there may be glitches in the software, as everyone has the same access, but certain individuals are unable to create copies or new documents from the exact same file.

Pros

PlanGurus ability to handle a wide range of different and difficult scenarios is impressive, thanks to its flexibility and multiple calculation options.

Cons

I find it inconvenient that there is no 'back' button, and some screens are not very understandable.

PlanGuru software proved to be very user-friendly. I was able to start working on budgets and forecasting models within the first week without any issues.

It would be great if there was a shareable dashboard for clients.

Pros

I was up and running with the software within 15 minutes of installation. Previously, I had to manage multiple Excel templates and worry about accidental alterations to calculations. Now, I can focus on our end goals without concerns about mathematical accuracy and presentation.

I rarely say this, but I am completely pleased with the product. (Note: I added this sentence to meet the word count requirement.)

The most appealing feature for me was the ease of use.

We had to migrate away from QuickBooks, and now the system we use does not interface with GP.

Installing and accessing the software was not a problem from the beginning.

Cons

PlanGuru program does not offer greater functionality compared to existing programs, and it does not perform as well as I was led to believe. I requested termination and a refund of the purchase price, but I was ignored. Eventually, I was told that it was my shortcomings for not appreciating the program.

Pros

The cost is low, and it provides full financials including a balance sheet, cash flow and owner's equity. There are also additional supporting schedules.

Cons

Forecasting years are limited which makes the creation of three-year forecast a bit difficult. Customer support is minimal. I would like to be able to customize reporting templates from PlanGuru to avoid reformatting each time.

The software is easy to use, with a format similar to Excel and a well-designed layout.

Cons

The data assumptions for each year are not flexible, and the depreciation calculation may not be accurately formulated.

“A great budgeting tool!

Pros

PlanGuru is a very nice budgeting tool for small businesses. The features included with the license cost far surpass the price and are comparable to solutions offered by competitors at 10-15 times the price. It allows for the consolidation of multiple departments into an overall budget.

Cons

The learning curve is steep. While the online tutorials are good, they do not provide the level of detail I was looking for. I needed more information on certain aspects.

The report's organization and formatting are positive aspects.

Cons

It is hard to use, expensive, and the comment sections do not print out completely in the margins like Crystal Reports. They only print within the margins if you export to Excel. I have reported these issues to tech support, but as far as I know, they have not been addressed.

Setting up the software can be somewhat difficult.

PlanGuru simplifies the process of building a comprehensive budget and forecast, comparing it to actuals, monitoring cash flow, and tracking KPIs. As a new user, I received excellent support from the responsive and knowledgeable support team at PG. Additionally, for management personnel who prefer to focus on KPIs, the Analytics feature provides convenience.

Cons

As a business, we faced a challenge when we had to manage cash flow weekly because PlanGuru is limited to a monthly basis.

What I like about PlanGuru is that if provide various methods to project balances from previous years.

Cons

I wish there was a better way to have separate company budgets and actuals and then roll them up to a consolidated budget and actuals. Additionally, I would prefer if the price included more users and if the software was online rather than installed on a machine, allowing others to access it as well.

Pros

PlanGuru offers an Excel analytics tool that allows the extraction of budget, forecast and actual information into Excel. Once you create custom reports, making adjustments and syncing information takes only seconds.

Cons

There are moments when I navigate data in PlanGuru and find that the expected functionality is missing. Since I'm so accustomed to Excel, I need to slow down and learn the software. That's why I like the ability to link the data to Excel for custom reporting.

Pros

The affordability and flexibility make it ideal for planning different scenarios. The payroll functionality and the ability to import data from QuickBooks are also valuable features.

Cons

It does not offer an export option to QB. Creating calculations and schedules requires some technical know-how. I have experienced file corruptions and errors that needed support assistance to resolve, which took several days during a critical budget period. The reporting functions are lackluster. I would prefer an export to QB to utilize its reporting functions for financials.

PlanGuru cash-flow forecasting capabilities, ease of use and variety of reports are all impressive factors.

Cons

Starting can be a little tricky, but with support's help, you can overcome these obstacles.

I still have to rely on spreadsheets to some extent, but PlanGuru streamlines the process of building forecast models.

The report generator is not as flexible or fast as I would prefer.
