I started using this product back when it was called Billy, and since Lendio rebranded it to Sunrise, they've introduced features that have proven very helpful. The subscription feature for recurring invoices has been particularly beneficial for both my clients and me.
Cons
Editing recurring invoices can be cumbersome at times. If there are changes needed, I often end up deleting the old invoice and creating a new one to ensure it sends properly.

Pros
I can generate detailed client quotes in minutes, complete with deadlines. Converting these quotes into invoices is seamless, and managing open invoices and updating payments is simple.
Cons
Making changes to the permanent wording on invoices can be tricky since accessing that section isn't simple. Because it's a rare task, I have to keep detailed notes on how to do it or contact support every time.

Sunrise is easy to use, even for someone like me who isn't an accountant. It covers all the essential functionalities we need and more. The invoicing system is particularly impressive it's simple, customizable, and integrates quoting and estimating seamlessly into invoices. It also includes automated reminders and payment tracking.
Cons
It would be fantastic if we could use our own domain for sending invoices and reminders instead of @sunriseapp.com. Additionally, automating the invoicing process using a CSV file or through services like Zapier would save us considerable time. I'm unsure if these features will be offered in the future or if they're already available and I just haven't found them yet.

Pros
Sunrise is incredibly user-friendly and streamlines most accounting tasks. Setting it up is a breeze, and I like how easy it is to upload receipts, even from my mobile device, and link them to relevant expenses.
Cons
I'm eagerly awaiting the addition of a recurring bills feature. Like most companies, we have monthly bills that need to be paid regularly. Currently, there's no way to set up recurring expenses, so I have to manually input the same bills each month. Also, the recent issue with one of my bank account connections stopping has been frustrating. It's been over three weeks since I requested support from Sunrise, and we're still waiting for a resolution from the third-party provider.

“Great Feature Set for Small Business Owners Ready to Move Beyond Spreadsheets

I highly recommend this tool for any business owner or startup looking to adopt double-entry accounting. It's the platform I turned to when I decided to get serious about managing my business finances (transitioning from spreadsheets). Organizing my chart of accounts, generating real Profit/Loss statements, handling invoices, tracking payments, and more have all been instrumental in helping me focus and expand. I originally purchased it under the name Billy, and now it's free with ongoing improvements.
Cons
There's a slight learning curve, but it's manageable. Since Lendio acquired Billy and rebranded it as Sunrise, there have been improvements, though some areas still need work. For instance, the absence of an account dashboard means I have to check each account individually for transactions or balances, which should ideally be consolidated on one page. Additionally, not being able to save report settings means I have to select my Profit/Loss report preferences each time I run it, like viewing by months for the current year.

Although we don't use the accounting features, we find the billing capabilities very intuitive. Creating professional invoices and instantly sharing them via email is seamless. It's simple and easy to understand.
Cons
One feature I'd like is the ability to view all invoices associated with specific products from the products overview. It would also be convenient to batch-edit products for example, adjusting pricing across selected items by a set percentage.
