Save Yourself the Trouble — We Learned the Hard Way We switched from NetSuite to Versa ERP in January 2025. Thirteen months later, we switched back. Here's what happened in between. The pitch made sense at the time. Versa positioned itself as a capable, lower-cost alternative to NetSuite. We did our due diligence, asked the right questions, and made what seemed like a reasonable business decision. What we didn't know — because we weren't told — was how much we were actually giving up. It doesn't bend to your business. Every ERP has constraints. That's expected. What isn't expected is a system so rigid that routine workflow adjustments become projects in themselves. We spent more time engineering workarounds than running our business. Tasks our team previously handled in minutes stretched into multi-step processes with no clear logic behind them. If your operation fits neatly inside Versa's specific framework, you may be fine. If it doesn't, you'll know immediately. The sales process left out important details. Features we took for granted — because they exist in virtually every comparable platform — turned out to be missing or locked behind additional costs. This wasn't discovered during evaluation. It was discovered after go-live, which is the worst possible time. A more transparent sales conversation would have changed our decision entirely. The accounting capabilities are a serious problem. We didn't expect this one. Accounting is supposed to be a core ERP function, not a liability. Versa's general ledger is structured in a way that prevents the kind of routine corrections and adjustments that modern software handles without issue. The workaround Versa recommended? Build your entries in Excel first, verify everything is correct, then upload. We also brought in an outside accounting consultant — at a cost of $7,000 — who arrived at the same conclusion. That's not a solution. That's a red flag with a price tag. For context, Versa currently has no accountant on their internal team. It shows. The support team isn't the problem. To their credit, the customer service staff were helpful, responsive, and genuinely tried to assist. The problem is that there's only so much a support team can do when the product itself has fundamental gaps. More often than not, the best they could offer was a detailed explanation of the six steps Versa requires to do what other platforms do in one. Where we landed. Versa's leadership acknowledged that our migration had some rough edges. Fair enough — it did. But a difficult migration and a limited product are two different problems. One is fixable. The other is the product. We're back on NetSuite at twice the monthly cost. It isn't close — not in functionality, not in efficiency, not in peace of mind. The savings we were chasing turned out to be an illusion once productivity loss, consultant fees, and lost time were factored in. If you're considering this switch, do the full math before you commit.

Versa Cloud ERP is highly intuitive and easy to manage. I can access all the information I need with just a few clicks.

Cons

I believe there is room for improvement in the reporting features. While there are numerous reports available, it's not always easy to create a new report and find specific information.

This web-based ERP is fantastic! The user interface is simple, and once I learn about the basic skills of the system, they carry over into different areas which makes it easy to learn and navigate.

Cons

The only area where I see an opportunity for improvement is the CRM. However, when we mentioned this to Versa, they quickly scheduled a meeting with us and were very receptive to feedback. It's difficult to even consider this a drawback.

I like that everything is interconnected in Versa Cloud ERP, the inventory, financials and customers/suppliers are all under one roof.

I wish the package included more CRM features.

It has allowed us to integrate multiple entities into a single platform that can be accessed from any device, anywhere and at any time.

Cons

Like any software integration, there is a learning curve that needs to be overcome to fully use the product. With the support of VersAccounts, we were able to work through and resolve most of the issues.

The team at VersAccounts has truly transformed our operations in terms of inventory control, sales order processing and financial reporting. The best part about this platform is the exceptional support behind it. The support team is hands down the best I've ever worked with. They provide custom modifications to meet our industry-specific needs and constantly impress us with their ability to help us achieve more and provide better service to our customers. We recently integrated VersAccounts with our online dealer shopping platform, and the VersAccounts team made the integration process stress-free and successful.

Cons

The only downside I can mention is that the "out of the box" reporting didn't meet our needs initially. However, VersAccounts quickly resolved the issue and helped us create the custom reports we required.

It combines all the essential aspects of organizational bookkeeping. The software provides a neat representation of invoicing, bookkeeping, stock-in-hand, purchase orders and all the incoming and outgoing cash flow in the company's accounts. It's wonderful to see this kind of software available in the marketplace.

Cons

Cost, time and delivery are significant factors in today's software landscape, and I can still see the need for some price reduction to capture the market.

There is a slight lag and loading time during certain actions, and the software has difficulty processing product returns. The response time for technical assistance and customer service can be slow.

VersAccounts is so user-friendly that training becomes simple due to its ease of use. Having cloud-based access to our accounting and inventory data has proven to be convenient and efficient. Managing our large inventory is made easy with the inventory functions provided. Throughout our usage of VersAccounts, the product's functionality has continuously evolved and improved. The customer service has been good and the price is reasonable.

Navigating and customizing VersAccounts is not problematic. They offer excellent support and service, which is a major advantage for helping small to medium-sized businesses get started. The functions are well-organized, making it easy for even novices to understand. The best part is that VersAccounts grows with you as your business evolves.

Cons

There aren't many issues for smaller or start-up business ventures. Any minor glitches we encountered at the beginning were easily resolved with the support provided.

VersAccounts is affordable, flexible and packed with rich features. It handles advanced inventory needs such as multiple warehouses, transfers, barcoding and more. The software allows for multiple currencies and the consolidation of multiple companies. Integration with other software, like e-commerce or point-of-sale systems, is seamless. As someone who has searched for software to recommend to clients who have outgrown their off-the-shelf options, VersAccounts is the best solution I have found.

Cons

The financial reporting could benefit from improvement. For example, it should allow for easier comparison of actual results to the budget.

Using VersAccounts is very not an issue even for the newbie. I particularly like the option to convert quotes into sales orders with just a simple click of the mouse.

Cons

I find that entering the province/state and country takes longer than I would prefer. The tabs seem to take too much time to recognize the input I'm providing.

Pros

The best feature of VersAccounts is its ability to be configured to meet my specific business needs. While it's suitable for any US or Canadian company right out of the box, it's the ideal choice when expanding globally. Compared to SAP, which comes with a high price tag in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for a global view, VersAccounts offers a similar features at a fraction of the cost. Running a global company with branches in multiple countries and different accounting systems, we quickly outgrew QuickBooks. We searched for an affordable solution, and only VersAccounts was able to meet our needs and configure it to fit our global requirements. We had our system customized to accommodate our global partners, including the automatic splitting of invoices between various countries. The configuration was completed ahead of schedule and at 50% of the cost quoted by the closest competitor. The VersAccounts team is also amazing and always ready to help. We've been using them for over three years and have absolutely no regrets.

Cons

I'm not particularly fond of software that charges per user access. I believe a software package should offer a fixed cost and allow the company to have as many users as needed. The per user charge restricts us from having a larger number of users at a reasonable cost. However, out of the 20+ top-notch software options we reviewed, VersAccounts still provided the best overall price and value. Additionally, it would be great if they could provide more detailed training videos and make them available on YouTube or their channels free of charge as it will make the process of onboarding new users to the software much easy.

“Deciding to go with Versaccounts was not hard, they are friendly, know what they're talking about, and willing to negotiate to help you get what you need.

Pros

VersAccounts handles inventory, bookkeeping, accounting, invoicing and all the necessary tasks. While I haven't had the product for long enough to provide a comprehensive review, I'm impressed with what I've seen so far. I'm currently in the process of setting it up.

Cons

Other programs I considered offered more hands-on assistance in setting up the program, whereas with this one, you essentially do it all by yourself. It's alright, but I can't be entirely sure if I'm doing everything correctly until we have our weekly online meeting.

We are a small, family-owned business engaged in manufacturing and selling our products through retail stores and our e-commerce website. We made the switch from QuickBooks Enterprise to a cloud-based platform with advanced inventory capabilities, and VersAccounts caught our attention. Some of the functionalities that appealed to us were lotted and barcoded inventory, lot and serial number traceability from raw materials to finished products, accurate costing of production projects, and integration with our custom e-commerce website. Additionally, VersAccounts offers custom pricing for our wholesale accounts.

Some areas where VersAccounts could improve are offering more plug-and-play capabilities with third-party apps and improving the ability to create custom reports. Currently, most integrations with third-party apps and the creation of custom reports require a software specialist from VersAccounts to perform custom work. However, VersAccounts excels in customer service, addressing your specific business needs on a personal level. Overall, VersAccounts provides excellent functionality at an affordable rate! We have no regrets about switching from QuickBooks.

There are a few accounting functions that could be expanded upon, such as handling supplier returns or other irregular tasks. Since it's a new platform, I believe time, growth and user input will help address these areas.

About a year ago, I approached Versa to assess if their system would fulfill the needs of our wholesale distribution company. We had specific requirements that were important for us, and after discussing with them, we were able to customize the platform exactly to our needs. Since we started using Versa, they have been a delight to work with. The customer service is exceptional, with someone always available whenever we need assistance. The greatest advantage for us is having accounting and all other aspects of our business in a single cloud-based solution. Considering the value for the money, this has undoubtedly been the best ERP system for our company.

Cons

Initially, there were a few functions and workflow items that took some time to get used to. However, after the initial setup and adapting to the slight changes in how things are done, it has exceeded our expectations.
