“Reliable app
Pros
There are a few features I like which are cloud app service monitoring and troubleshooting SQL DB performance.
Cons
The initial setup and fine tuning took some time of ours, especially when we are working with large or hybrid environments.

“Has its good and bad
Pros
What I like most is the monitoring functionality especially for things like Database Monitoring, User Experience Monitoring and Performance Monitoring.
Cons
We might need additional training to use it properly as it is not the easiest tool to get the hang of.

“Perfect for node-wise details during performance testing
Pros
In AppDynamics we can integrate with AWS resources to get a detailed view of memory usage and CPU performance for each node.
Cons
There were some minor challenges that we come across when setting up the connection but nothing to major.

“Works great
Pros
The product is very easy to use. We have various monitors set up for DB, Java, .Net and they all work smoothly.
Cons
Well the setup and configuration process is not as simple as we expected as it usually requires support to get things right.

“It was easy to set up
Pros
AppDynamics supports multiple platforms and offers a pretty straightforward setup process. Also it allows for personalized monitoring and makes deploying components easy. The interface is also user friendly and the charts and graphs are designed in a way that even non technical users can understand.
Cons
It seems like we currently do not have the privilege to import AppDBs to capture specific items.

“Simplifies tracking app servers
Pros
Well to me this is the best tool to monitor application servers. Continuous monitoring helps us understand how the application behaves and even predicts potential downtimes.
Cons
I feel like the layout of the application's statistics dashboard could be improved for better presentation.

“Excellent tool
Pros
AppDynamics provides real time monitoring which is really useful for gaining visibility into application performance. We can quickly detect and fix issues before they affect users. Also it is highly customizable which allows us to create alerts and dashboards based on our specific needs. The interface is also simple and the charts make it easy for non-tech users to understand.
Cons
It is a powerful tool I must say but a bit on the expensive side. Also the setup and configuration is quite complex and might need some technical know how. And it requires substantial computing resources like memory and CPU otherwise it could affect performance on smaller systems.

“Great for performance monitoring and issue troubleshooting
Pros
Installing and integrating it with our application was easy. It monitors application APIs, databases and servers. Also we can set alerts and email notifications and even trigger specific actions or scripts based on our needs. It is one of the best monitoring tools available and helps troubleshoot application issues well. Plus we can even gather thread dumps to analyze performance problems.
Cons
I have not come across any issues yet as everything seems to be working pretty well.

“Delivers the best
Pros
AppDynamics provides a comprehensive view of any application environment. I especially like the monitoring of applications, servers and network flow. My favorite feature is its ability to drill down and pinpoint the root cause of issues.
Cons
The setup is not easy and demands a lot of technical expertise. I also do not like that each component is billed separately or requires its own license.

“Proven highly helpful
Pros
The best part is the detailed error tracking. I can even pinpoint the exact line of code causing issues. For performance problems, I can see exactly what was happening at that moment. Also I would highlight the alert system which helps trigger alarms when needed. It is quite useful for teams managing operations around the clock. The dashboard users can create is also very helpful for support teams.
Cons
Setting up the agent is not as smooth as other products for example, Dynatrace's OneAgent does this better. Plus the setup is particularly challenging in the SAP ecosystem. As for Real User Monitoring, specialized products in this area outperform AppDynamics but one thing I must is that with it you get comprehensive monitoring from the end users to the server itself.

“Track website tracking with ease
Pros
Real-time monitoring of servers and databases gives detailed insights into which process classes are consuming memory. Plus continuous alerts for servers and databases, transaction traces and in-depth server health monitoring are just a few features of it among many. And the ability to customize transaction and traffic reports is another big plus. The map flow feature is my favorite.
Cons
I have not much to add other than the cost as it is a bit pricey.

“Best in the market
Pros
AppDynamics is an excellent application monitoring tool. It can monitor any application, server or database, providing real time data on user traffic, server capacity and response times. Also it helps resolve over 90% of server side issues by analyzing the detailed reports which help us formulate strategic decisions.
Cons
There is a small learning involve curve to get started and it is not budget friendly as other options I have come across.

“Leading in its industry
Pros
It provides real-time instrumentation with full drill down analysis for every transaction our app makes. Overall this tool makes life easier not only for developers but also for performance engineers, PS teams and operations. It is the one tool that covers everything for us.
Cons
Customizing alerts and managing suppression is not at all easy. Also I do not have access to the AppD DB for capturing specific information. For example I wanted to send my URL or API in the AppD alert but there is no feature for that yet. I even raised a ticket but nothing has been done about it. Plus clicking on an erroneous BT and opening it in AppD led to a lengthy process to pinpoint the error.
