Really helps manage data smartly

Pros

Collibra offers a single platform to manage, catalog and govern data. Also it helps us spot and fix errors in data which allows us to ensure that the systems are running with accurate and reliable information.

Cons

We faced no issues while using it.

No need for multiple tools anymore

Pros

It has several platforms all in one place which have proven beneficial for us like data catalog, data quality and artificial intelligence.

Cons

As compared to Ataccama I find understanding relationships is a bit more complicated with it.

Gets the job done

Pros

I find the Business Glossary and Data Catalog features really helpful since they answer questions about the data like its source, who uses it, who owns it and where it comes from. This ultimately helps with my analysis.

Cons

Collibra can be a little tricky for new users because it takes a fair amount of my time to get the hang of it.

Great tool for managing data well

Pros

It automates the Data Governance process which reduces the need for manual work and makes everything faster for us. Also it integrates easily with Cloud storage services and Data Lakes improving its usability. Plus it is scalable as the data grows and it provides good tools to keep sensitive data secure from outside access.

Cons

The cost is a major concern of ours since not everyone will be able to afford it. Also it would be great if there were some basic monitoring capabilities with a simple dashboard and reports that provide useful analytics.

An amazing tool!

Pros

My team mainly uses it for data discovery and mapping. We use it every week when creating data sets. The data discovery feature helps us manage metadata and makes it easy to find. Also it gives us a visual overview of how data flows which helps my team create better data models for the ETL process improving data quality and decision making.

Cons

Sometimes we find it hard to understand because the UI is not great. Plus the user interface could definitely be improved with more customization options and better features.

Full-featured governance setup

Pros

The Data Catalog feature is proven to be the most useful for me because it gives a complete view of the organization's data assets including definitions, owners, lineage and relationships.

Cons

In my opinion Collibra is not the easiest or most simple tool for new users. However the company has provided training modules through Collibra University which makes learning a bit easier.

Pricey and not a fit for smaller businesses

Pros

There are a lot of features but I noticed there are better ways to spend your money especially when it comes to data governance.

Cons

The implementation costs are not explained or quoted clearly. Also the setup is not as simple as other competitors and in many cases, the costs don't justify the benefits. Plus customer service is based on the total quoted cost which to me feels a bit unfair.
