“annoying work account spam”
Pros
Honestly there's really nothing good I can say about this product. They keep spamming my work account without any hesitation.
Cons
Their spamming tactics are the biggest problem.

“reliable connectors”
Pros
Right out of the gate, Fivetran works well with most widely used data sources thanks to its plug-and-play integrations. There's no need to maintain infrastructure or set up schedulers which takes a lot off the team's plate. It also deals with schema drift and incremental updates very well and the sync history, alerts and logs are easy to track. Having so many prebuilt integrations for databases, SaaS tools and warehouses makes it very convenient to roll out.
Cons
The MAR-based pricing can become expensive faster than expected as usage grows. It's also not a complete ETL platform since it depends a lot on dbt for transformation work. Another downside is the limited visibility into what's actually happening under the hood. And if there isn't a native connector available, the flexibility drops off quite a bit.

“fast setup from day one”
Pros
I find it quite user friendly and I was able to begin using it right from day one.
Cons
I honestly cannot think of any real downside to it. The only thing I'd like to see is data transformation and modeling services included.

“smooth and user-friendly setup”
Pros
The software was farily easy to use and overall the whole experience is pretty decent. It also works well even for people who don't have a very technical background.
Cons
Costs can start to add up once you're working with larger volumes of data.

“reliable connectors and scheduling”
Pros
A wide range of built-in data integrations is available which makes it convenient to pull source data from many different applications. The scheduler is also very useful because it lets us run data pipelines exactly at the intervals we need.
Cons
The existing connectors work really well but it would be even better if there were support for deploying custom Python code for unsupported data sources to improve integrations.

“great automated pipelines”
Pros
Instead of manually pulling data from different sources, this has been a great option for ETL/ELT pipelines because it automatically moves and loads data from sources into destinations which saves me a lot of time. I have also used it for some SQL-based transformations and then fed the data into warehouses such as dbt and Snowflake. Another feature I like is that it automatically adapts when schema changes happen which makes ongoing maintenance much easier. If collecting data by hand from multiple systems is taking too much time, this is definitely a practical solution.
Cons
It would be nice to have better optimization controls when pulling data through connectors since usage can get quite heavy depending on the source. Creating custom connectors is also very difficult and not something that's simple to pull off. On top of that the pricing becomes expensive as data processing volume grows.

“Good connectors and support”
Pros
This tool stood out because it offers a wide range of ready-made integrations for the data sources teams use most often. That helped us get fast access to a lot of the data our business depends on. Their support team has also been excellent anytime I have needed help troubleshooting an issue. They keep expanding the platform with new integrations and the dashboard is easy and user-friendly.
Cons
One challenge is the sync scheduling which can create problems for business processes when data needs to start at a specific time more than once a day. Users don't have many scheduling options and the sync times tend to shift instead of running exactly when expected. For example, not necessarily right on the hour but at a time determined by it. The packaged DBT integrations also seem to run into several issues, although it does provide office hours with support staff to help work through them. I'd also like to see more pricing transparency especially a monthly MAR breakdown instead of only showing the number of records.

“fast setup and solid support”
Pros
Getting started with Fivetran is very easy as you can have everything running in about 10 minutes. The automatic test integrations are simple to use, the admin side is also well designed and customer support has been consistently helpful.
Cons
The biggest downside is the price. It can become pretty expensive when you're syncing large volumes of data.

“stellar fit for modern ELT”
Pros
Whether it's an ultra-small startup or a large established enterprise, this hands-off, low-code ELT platform delivers exactly what I'd expect. It works exceptionally well with Snowflake and PostgreSQL as data warehouse destinations. At the time I used it, there was also experimental support for Fishtown Analytics dbt and the integration felt completely smooth with almost no setup required. It also integrates extremely well with PostgreSQL source systems especially those running in Salesforce, AWS and GCP environments where cloud providers don't expose write-ahead logs.
Cons
I'd still like to see an SDK for building custom connectors, along with more flexibility in how execution is handled, such as the ability to package, deploy and run it on customer-managed IaaS.

“top-tier no-code etl”
Pros
The software is very easy to use and it's probably the best no-code ETL option available.
Cons
Its pricing is the major downside as it seems extremely expensive for what you get and they're pretty uncompromising when it comes to contracts and buying credits.

“reliable data ingestion”
Pros
Well the good thing is that it doesn't require much effort to start using it as you mainly set up the source and destination connections and it's ready to run. It also tracks changes automatically which helps keep the ingested data backward compatible without extra manual work.
Cons
The pricing does feel a little expensive compared to other options.

“SQL scripts made simple”
Pros
Even without a database background, I was able to run SQL scripts in Fivetran without much trouble and it worked well for integrations and reporting.
Cons
My only real complaint is that it isn't free and does come at a cost, although the pricing still feels fairly reasonable.

“feature-rich data warehousing win”
Pros
It was easy to set up and running for our data warehouse was surprisingly easy. The setup process was very simple and we had everything implemented after only a few hours of work.
Cons
It's definitely not the lowest-cost option on the market but it also offers more features than other ETL services out there.

“affordable ETL without coding”
Pros
Using this software has been fantastic. It's simple to work with and, best of all, it isn't expensive. It takes processes that usually get complicated and makes them much easier to handle. Now I can manage ETLs without needing to write or maintain any code.
Cons
At the moment, it only supports one-way data sync. It would be phenomenal if it also offered two-way synchronization. Still, considering the price, it's a very worthwhile purchase.

“Awesome SaaS sync capability”
Pros
I have known this team since they were a tiny startup and their product has turned out to be outstanding. It pulls all your SaaS data into your warehouse without needing to write code, deal with APIs or build ETL pipelines yourself. Brilliant concept and execution.
Cons
Being a startup, they still have a few minor quality issues here and there but nothing serious especially considering the price you're paying.

“reliable connectors and fast replication”
Pros
Using Fivetran has been very easy and the quality of its data source integrations is excellent. Each integration offers very fine replication intervals, currently down to 5 minutes with plans for 1-minute syncs which is impressive. Some of them also include advanced capabilities, like logical replication in the Postgres integration and that is a standout feature for real-time, low-overhead and consistent replication.
Cons
More detailed logging would really help. When something goes wrong, it can be difficult to figure out the root cause without reaching out to support. It would also be useful to have control over the query batch size which is set to 10M rows by default or have it adjust automatically based on table size in GiB and row count. As it stands, tables with around 10M rows but very large overall size can cause historical syncs to stall or force you to set extremely high statement timeouts.
