I really really like the interface of this tool. It is user-friendly and easy to navigate, making it accessible to all levels of experience. It offers a large variety of visualization options, which allows me to analyze and explore data from different perspectives. Its ability to quickly handle large amounts of data is remarkable, and the analysis algorithms help me conduct in-depth studies quickly, saving valuable time.

Cons

I think the cost is unnecessarily high as compared to other competitors. This makes it difficult for me to suggest this solution to some of my smaller customers, even though it would be the best option for them operationally.

Pros

I appreciate the ability to create custom reports to meet specific user requirements. I can link data from databases using Cognos Framework Manager and create SQL select queries to pull data directly from custom SQL objects. I also like that Cognos Analytics still supports Portals that were created in previous versions of the product. Other features I value are bursting, conditional Styling, exports to excel and Pdf and drillthrough reports.

Cons

I really think crosstabs could use more features and provide more flexibility in formatting.

IBM Cognos Analytics offers a full suite of reporting, dashboarding, data exploration, and data modeling capabilities. I use the reporting module, which has a SQL based engine, to create detailed reports with multi source inputs. The dashboarding module allows me to create summary dashboards with interactive widgets. I also like the exploration module, which helps me analyze large amounts of data and identify hidden patterns using machine learning algorithms. These algorithms even suggest the best types of data visualization to uncover insights.

Cons

it lacks proper governance, which is necessary for BI software. It doesn't offer options to manage the data lifecycle, which is a critical element for organizations of considerable size.

The software is highly user-friendly and promotes productivity by managing large amounts of data. It allows all departments to easily build reports to analyze data. The process is smooth and, compared to other cloud services I've tried, IBM Cognos offers a well-designed interface that is easy to train staff on. Reports provide significant detail that can be exported and edited for important decisions. They are easy to run and integrate well with office applications.

Cons

Reports can take time to execute depending on their size. It would be helpful if the reporting software included warnings about potential errors, or if more detailed instructions were provided for new employees. I've noticed some delays while switching sites or loading materials, but I appreciate IBM's efforts to address this.

It allows me to perform simple data analysis, but to dive deeper, it's necessary to integrate it with other IBM products like IBM Watson Studio which increases licensing costs.

I've used IBM Cognos Analytics and found several features that I really value. The reporting capabilities stood out the most, it allowed me to present data in relevant and interesting ways. The software offered plenty of options for creating visually appealing and interactive reports. The customization and flexibility were also a highlight and I could add my own branding and layouts to reports and dashboards. Also it's easy to link to various data sources, which enabled me to access and analyze a wide range of datasets. The collaboration and sharing features were also very useful for working with team members and stakeholders.

Cons

While using IBM cognos analytics, there were a few aspects that I found challenging and could be improved. One of the biggest issues for me was the learning curve associated with the software. It took a while to become familiar with the platform and its features. The complexity of some functions and the lack of an intuitive user interface made it hard for me to navigate and use the tool effectively at first.

I believe the product is certainly expensive especially for smaller, less structured organizations. It could also improve in terms of the graphic interface as it feels a bit outdated and not very attractive.

This solution is comprehensive for data analysis, from ETL to visualization. It's great for business analytics, supports a wide variety of data sources and offers strong reporting features and capabilities. I can publish to PDF, use predictive analytics and easily create dashboards with multiple templates.

Cons

They need to improve compatibility with web browsers, I've had issues with Opera. And I also think, the price per user is high and you can't share a dashboard unless the other party has a license.
