“I love the features in it
Pros
One of the features I like about MarkLogic is its ability to manage and store various types of data, including JSON and XML, on a single platform. This allows me to handle multiple projects simultaneously while taking advantage of the built in search options that support full-text and range queries, making it easy to search across all data types. And markLogic helps optimize storage infrastructure by using multiple tiers, reducing costs while ensuring frequent access to the data.
Cons
Some of the dislikes I have about Mark Logic include the time it takes to learn, despite its many features. Also the total ownership model significantly impacts the cost and licensing, which can be a barrier for small and medium-sized projects. While my organization has provided access, reaching that stage involved considerable back-and-forth.

“All in one database, search engine, and integration tool
Pros
The multi model structure that combines different files is extremely helpful. Its ability to handle both structured and unstructured data, combined with built in AI capabilities, is excellent.
Cons
Building predefined models on large datasets takes a lot of time and the documentation could be improved for better user experience.

“A solid and reliable product
Pros
What I appreciate most about MarkLogic is the flexibility it provides in handling various data types and its built-in support for CI/CD. And it integrates smoothly with platforms like Pega, making it highly versatile for diverse use cases.
Cons
A couple of areas where Mark Logic can improve include increasing its community base, as it can sometimes be difficult to find support. Also there are occasional crashes so the stability and reliability of the product could be better. However I believe these will be addressed in future releases.

“A NoSQL database with great query power and a super user-friendly interface
Pros
I think the most useful thing in MarkLogic is its ability to handle multi-format data ingestion (XML, JSON, etc.). The query runner supports multiple query languages and unlike other NoSQL providers, it supports ACID properties. And the security setup is very user-friendly, making it great for handling data from different customers.
Cons
Even though the user interface is amazing, sometimes I find it a bit confusing due to the vast array of features. As this tool offers a smart solution, increasing its community base would definitely help users.

“It's a great alternative for a complete NoSQL database
Pros
MarkLogic is simple, with excellent API integrations, supports multiple query languages and offers more features than just being a database.
Cons
Some of the challenges I've experienced include the available forums and documentation, the pricing structure and the steep learning curve.

“easy to search, manage, and store data in this versatile database
Pros
It is such a powerful search tool for finding specific information. It can integrate many different data types, making compilation so easy. It also has strong security protocols and thorough notification systems which really helps us in doing our work.
Cons
It can be overwhelming for even experienced users. The UI is built for professionals, not laypersons. It can also be very expensive, so scaling is crucial.

“Really competitive nosql DB
Pros
The advanced search features make MarkLogic highly competitive, handling documents, JSON, XML, and even binary data. It also offers ACID compliance, government-grade security and metadata management, making it an exceptional platform for us.
Cons
The cost of using it is overall expensive. Licensing and maintenance aren't very friendly for small companies and mastering it can be complex. To make it fully functional and efficient, it depends on how well we know the system.
