“serving data personas across the organization
Pros
The SQL editor for custom measures, along with duckDB smart cache, is a standout feature. The platform has a well structured approach to the semantic layer and source control, and it integrates seamlessly with most modern databases. I love the support as well.
Cons
It is still quite a new tool so it doesn't yet match the feature set of some of the more established tools. However the speed at which new features are being released is very promising. And in the end we decided to maintain stability with our current tech stack, but everyone involved in the proof of concept (POC) agreed that Omni is a great tool, and it's one we may revisit in the future.

“The BI tool of tomorrow
Pros
Most businesses need a SQL based tool for indepth analysis and benchmarking and Omni has created a world class solution for this purpose. While SQL knowledge certainly helps, Omni has made it possible for non technical users to create beautiful dashboards and charts without writing queries. I appreciate the visualization flexibility and the feature that allows scheduling of dashboard deliveries, which makes it easy to share data throughout the organization. The support and sales teams are excellent and I'm excited to continue using this tool for years.
Cons
Like any SQL-based BI tool, it requires a technical mindset to fully grasp initially but once it clicks, it becomes very efficient and easy to use.

“A fantastic user experience with the strength of a semantic layer
Pros
Getting started with Omni is soooo easy, regardless of our SQL experience. The dashboards look great, which plays a significant role in user adoption. Omni achieves a perfect balance between the rigor of a semantic layer and the flexibility of non Sql BI tools. The support is outstanding as well.
Cons
The semantic layer is still in its early stages and it takes a bit of time to adjust especially for those who are accustomed to Looker's semantic layer. That being said, I believe Omni is rapidly improving in this area.

“Strong analytics solution
Pros
The standout feature for me is the creation of easy, unique dashboards that handle all analytics needs. The interface is also so fresh, simple and helps you understand important metrics. It's a very robust platform with a user friendly interface.
Cons
Integration can be a bit challenging at times, and it's sometimes difficult to ensure that 100% of our data is accurately reflected.

“The perfect strategy for creating content and infrastructure
Pros
I love being able to generate complex query results without having to write SQL or leave the workbook environment. This is a huge advantage.
Cons
Feature Requests: Some ideas for improvement would be to promote individual changes in a workbook and introduce topic-specific table aliasing for easier organization and clarity.

“A software designed for everyone
Pros
As someone without a technical background I've been trying to understand how our customers are utilizing and benefiting from our product. Im constantly looking for ways to access data on my own. Having direct access to the data empowers me to understand what has occurred so I can make adjustments or predict what will happen next allowing me to take more control over the outcome. Omni is the first data tool I've come across that gives me the freedom (as a non-technical person) to do this. I no longer need to depend on an engineer to handle it for me. In the fast paced environment of a startup, this is crucial. Also Omni has provided excellent customer support, with a knowledgeable and responsive team that has been incredibly helpful.
Cons
So far there isn't anything I dislike about Omni but there are a few features I would love to see. Like better ways to track period over period performance (such as displaying percentage changes) and customizable notifications based on performance thresholds would make Omni an even more powerful tool for go to market (GTM) teams looking to scale their performance.

“The ease of usage is commendable
Pros
A major highlight of Omni is how easily you can update your schema when it changes. Other BI tools require multiple steps for this but with Omni, it's as simple as clicking refresh. The customer success team is also amazing, providing excellent support for any queries we have.
Cons
Since Omni is still a relatively new tool, there are occasional bugs that pop up more frequently than in other, more mature BI tools. And I think there are some features that are still under development or missing such as better organization for saved reports and dashboards.

“It looks Like Looker, but is superior
Pros
BI tools usually either have a semantic layer, which is great for data governance but can be slow, or connect directly to the data, making them fast but difficult to govern. Omni manages to combine the best of both, offering a semantic layer and features for quick ad hoc analysis. I think it improves on many of the limitations seen in tools like Looker.
Cons
I believe Omni lacks some features that are standard in more developed tools, such as integration with Git.
