“No-code visualizations for everyone”

Pros

Right out of the box Tableau seems accessible to use and you do not need any programming or scripting knowledge to build both basic and more advanced visualizations.

Cons

One thing I could not really figure out was how to add columns or extra data to an existing data source without changing the original source itself. In other words, it is not designed to make adding new data very simple, even though it does an excellent job letting you manipulate the data you already have. There are times when you just want to create a new column and that is harder than it should be.

“Master it and reap the rewards”

Pros

After spending some time with it, the platform started to feel much easier to use.

Cons

Getting started was pretty confusing and it was hard to understand at first. It definitely takes some time to get comfortable with how it works.

Right away the built-in data analysis tools stood out and the platform feels very user friendly overall.

Cons

There really isn't much to complain about though adding some of the tutorials directly into the platform could help new users get up to speed faster on certain tasks.

Tableau is very easy to use and works really efficiently especially when there's a need to present data and visual information in a clear, professional manner.

Cons

That said when you compare it to the price, it doesn't feel quite as user friendly as it should.

“Dashboards and graphics in one place”

Pros

Its visualizations are one of my favorite parts of Tableau. There are plenty of display options and switching between them is very convenient. The color choices work really well and the dashboards and story features are especially impressive.

Cons

One thing I didn't enjoy as much is that it takes some practice before it feels natural to use every day.

“Clean design with sharp visuals”

Pros

The way this software presents clean data really stood out. It's simple to use, easy to interpret and works especially well when you need to build a dashboard to showcase data. If the goal is creating data presentations, it is definitely a great choice.

Cons

One thing I wasn't too impressed with is that its use doesn't feel all that broad and there are other programs that can handle everything it does and even more, like Excel for example.

“Broad support with decent charts”

Pros

Among the data visualization tools out there, this is one of the most useful and professional options on the market. It lets you build informative charts without much trouble, as long as the underlying data is reliable. There's also a large ecosystem around it so finding guides, answers and community help online is usually pretty easy.

Cons

Compared with similar products, the interface isn't the strongest part of the software. New users usually need a bit of time before everything starts to click. On top of that the pricing tiers seem more tailored to larger companies which can make it harder for smaller businesses to really benefit from all of its powerful capabilities.

“A clean UI with clear features”

Pros

Its interface is simple, distinctive and well designed. Most features are clearly visible right away and are easy to understand.

Cons

One downside is that there's still room to add many more features.

“Agent tracking through clear metrics”

Pros

The metrics are really simple to understand and I appreciate that they can be tied directly to each agent.

Cons

Looking up a client's survey for a specific agent takes a few steps since you have to open the client's account first before finding the call and listening to it again.

“User-friendly reports with adjustable views”

Pros

Using this software is very easy and the report layouts are neatly organized and simple to understand. It's also very convenient to switch between different months of data or any other time period that's needed.

Cons

One limitation is that the parameters stay fixed so whenever the data changes, they have to be updated manually since there's no automation for that.

“Great backend, visuals feel dated”

Pros

The dashboard builder is a standout and lets you create really good dashboards, even when working with large amounts of data without much trouble.

Cons

A few of the visualization tools feel a bit outdated in terms of appearance although they still get the job done well enough.

“Fast performance with striking graphics”

Pros

Tableau delivers a lot when it comes to data visualization, with features like drill-downs, filters and a wide range of chart types. It also handles large datasets very quickly which makes working with complex data much more efficient.

Cons

One limitation is that dashboards are not very flexible for casual viewers to explore on their own. In most cases, they can only apply filters so digging deeper is hard unless the tables or charts were specifically designed in advance for that kind of analysis.

Pros

It is a fantastic option for data analysis. It helps build impressive dashboards, stories and data statistics and it comes packed with strong features and a wide variety of graphs.

Cons

The first time you use it, it can feel a bit confusing but it becomes more familiar once you spend some time with it.

Pros

There are plenty of charts and templates available so users can get started quickly without having to build everything from scratch.

Cons

It does need a proper introduction to the features though, in order to use the platform effectively.

It is very easy to use. You just enter the information it asks for and it loads everything without much effort.

Cons

It can be a little slow when pulling in data that goes back across multiple years.

Pros

The Excel like workbook layout with separate worksheets and tabs makes everything easy to navigate and keeps things well organized.

Cons

A frustrating limitation is that worksheets or entire workbooks cannot be imported in either the cloud or desktop version. It's also not possible to save results as new data sources.

Pros

One of Tableau's biggest strengths is the wide range of features it offers for data analysis and visualization.

Cons

When the internet connection is weak or bandwidth is low, the application tends to lag and can take a while to load.

Pros

The visual quality is some of the best you can get.

Cons

There are a few compatibility issues happening in the background.

“Tutorials help us a lot”

Pros

Tableau is a decent tool because the tutorials are highly interactive and really simple to follow. The education pricing is also reasonably affordable and the interface feels more user friendly than a lot of other alternatives.

Cons

I am not sure I'd continue using it without the educational discount. On top of that the huge number of features can feel a bit overwhelming and the layout could use some reorganization.

“Statistical insights for data scientists”

Pros

One thing that really stands out is the statistical analysis. It makes it simple to spot the correlation between two data points and understand the relationship clearly.

Cons

The downside is the cost since it feels a little expensive and there isn't a standard tailored package available.
