“Reporting that works across teams”
Pros
It lets us build many different types of reports and it does a really good job of sharing data and information across the whole company.
Cons
The interface could be cleaner and there should be a simpler way to copy data directly from the software instead of having to download a file every single time.

“Rich visuals with strong dashboards”
Pros
Tableau really shines when it comes to feature depth, visualization choices and overall configurability. The dashboard capabilities especially feel a step ahead of many competing tools.
Cons
If I had to keep the criticism brief, it would be the branding side of things. For users who are not especially design-focused, dashboards can end up looking cluttered and a bit unpolished because design and branding consistency are lacking. It is very possible to build a dashboard that is highly informative and effective, yet still have it look less visually appealing than it should.

“Good visuals when you're on the go”
Pros
Once you've had some training, this software is very easy to use. Being able to access it on my phone is a big plus and the interface feels user friendly overall. I also appreciate the visualizations it creates and the fact that the data isn't heavily restricted makes it even more useful.
Cons
My biggest concern is around security. It can also get a bit pricey if you need to purchase the software on your own and people without prior experience will need training before they can really use it effectively.

“Dynamic visuals that look great”
Pros
Using this has made my data feel much more dynamic and interactive. It integrates well to spreadsheets, works with SQL and lets you build beautiful, story-driven visual graphs.
Cons
The price can feel a bit high and there is definitely a learning curve at first. That said once you get past the initial ramp-up, it becomes very easy to use.

“Discover your data easily”
Pros
It does an excellent job of helping us uncover interesting insights in our data. We mainly use it alongside Excel for additional analysis and it's very easy to work with.
Cons
At times the dashboards feel a little confusing for our end users since the interface comes across as somewhat outdated. It's not a major issue but it can make things a bit less easy to navigate.

“Helpful visibility into inbound data”
Pros
Tableau is mainly used by our operations team and it gives my team a clear view of how much inbound volume they've reached each day. Having that data available helps us decide how to communicate with them and adjust our approach when needed.
Cons
One thing that gets frustrating is that it can work a bit laggy at times. Also it keeps showing the last date I selected in a previous session. Even when I clear it every time I log in, it still takes me back to that old selection.

“Clean dashboards but frustrating setup”
Pros
After the long setup process is finally out of the way, Tableau can give you a simple one stop view of a lot of information. Our Sales team especially appreciates how simple the dashboard interface is.
Cons
It has been a constant source of frustration for us. Bringing it into our existing business setup is difficult, customization is hard to manage and the data syncing never seems to work properly.

“Good real-time visualization”
Pros
Switching from Access and Excel to Tableau changed the way I handle reporting. I used to repeat the same aggregation and analysis work every day as the data kept changing but now I can keep the key data up to date and view it visually with information that reflects almost real-time changes. Even as a beginner, the basic operations were not hard to learn and getting started did not feel especially difficult. It also helps me organize data that would be hard to manage in Excel and present it in a much clearer way. Using the UI, I can cross-tabulate, create graphs and visualize changes in numbers very conveniently. Another big plus is that I do not need SQL or programming knowledge to work with the data. Interactive visualization which is usually challenging when the volume of data becomes large, makes it much easier to think through the information. Since I can quickly adjust charts by changing the aggregation unit, axes or filters, I can review the data, reconsider the results and try another angle without stress. Overall, its aggregation-based data visualization is extremely powerful.
Cons
One thing I would really like is a more complete set of manuals. Statistical expertise is not required but some wording on the screen is hard to understand so it takes time to become familiar with it. The visualization process is not always user friendly and once you try to create something a bit more detailed, the product has its own quirks so some training is needed to make visuals look exactly the way you want. For graph formatting, changing the basic style from the palette is simple but finding menus for options like auxiliary lines is not easy. There are also times when data takes a long time to load and that would be a major improvement area. It does not seem tied to data size or PC environment, yet loading can still be very slow especially when data loads repeatedly each time tabs are switched. It is also not the right tool for advanced analytical simulations such as statistical analysis or predictive modeling since it is really focused on visualization only. On top of that I would like to see more flexibility in license types and pricing because the current cost feels like too high a barrier to adoption.

“Good concept but poorly delivered”
Pros
The concept behind the software and what it aims to do are appealing. If it actually organized and collected data the way it was presented, this could be a product I'd really appreciate.
Cons
Sadly the limited information available and the challenge of pulling accurate data end up creating extra work. It feels like the software is trying too hard while still falling short on results.

“Quick reports with good visuals”
Pros
Tableau has a very user friendly interface and working in it is quite hassle free. It integrates well with multiple data sources and APIs which makes pulling data together much more convenient. Reports load quickly and that saves a lot of time during analysis. It also supports collaboration with SQL and Python which is really helpful. The visualizations are where it really shines and the drag and drop functionality is one of its strongest features.
Cons
One limitation is that you cannot really clean data within the tool itself. The pricing is also a bit expensive.

“Importing data is really easy”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate about this software is that you don't need deep SQL or Python knowledge to get around and use it effectively. Being able to pull in data from multiple sources without much hassle is really refreshing.
Cons
Building formulas can feel tedious sometimes. Since it follows logic similar to Excel, I often have to pause and think through how the formula would be created there first.

“A strong platform for managing data”
Pros
Among the tools we've used, this one offers one of the most comprehensive ways to organize and bring together all kinds of data points. It has become a key part of how we handle our business data needs and it also helps us prepare for future changes and better understand customer demands.
Cons
Getting comfortable with it can be challenging especially since data management is already complex on its own. Our team needed quite a bit of training before they could use it effectively and that learning process is still continuing.

“Easy drill-down views”
Pros
One thing I am especially excited about is how simple Tableau makes it to drill into data, whether I want a very broad overview or a highly specific subclass. It's also very user friendly when it comes to building custom views for things like inventory, site engagement and similar reporting needs.
Cons
The feature I liked least ended up having a workaround. While drilling into my data, I was getting frustrated by how often the page would freeze or take time to load. I later realized there's a pause button that lets me hold the view in place while adjusting the search results. After unpausing, there's still some loading time but it happens all at once instead of every single time I click or unclick something.

“Fast dashboards with easy workflows”
Pros
After working with quite a few other tools, I find it very easy to use. Some competing platforms definitely offer features Tableau doesn't but when it comes to usability and getting work done quickly, Tableau is probably the best option.
Cons
One area where it really falls short is time series data. It's acceptable but it takes too much bending and reworking to get meaningful time‑based insights which gets pretty frustrating. Data blending is also messy and illogical. Maybe it's better than Alteryx in that regard but it still isn't good.

“Rich analytics with strong dashboards”
Pros
Tableau is a really strong platform for building advanced analytical dashboards and it can handle almost any level of complexity. It integrates to a wide range of data sources, from simple files like Excel and CSV to more advanced databases such as Snowflake and MySQL. It also gives us flexibility to join tables or write custom queries when preparing the source data. Dashboard creation follows a dimension and measure approach and there is plenty of room for writing calculations and computed fields that can later be used in visualizations. The worksheet is the core building block and multiple worksheets can be combined into a full dashboard. On top of that it supports advanced interactive filters that dynamically affect the underlying data. Everything is built in the desktop application and then published to the server, where features like usage tracking, access management and extract refresh scheduling are available.
Cons
I noticed that once the dashboard gets large and complex especially with extract data enabled performance can become a problem. Loading it in Tableau Desktop can take a while too and opening the same dashboard from the server sometimes fails on the first try so you have to attempt it multiple times. Publishing from desktop to server can also be slow. It seems like the local extract data might be getting pushed along with the files which adds to the delay.

Pros
Turning queries into visualizations happens almost instantly and that's especially useful when working with large data imports. The merged dashboard feature also helps a lot when customizing reports based on user spin history and in-game currency.
Cons
