“Real-time insights with strong integrations”
Pros
One thing that really stands out with Tableau is how well it integrates with other tools. The built-in connectors make it simple to set up a data pipeline and being able to work with real-time data is a big advantage.
Cons
There are times when the visualizations don't appear the same between the tools Desktop and Live. Also not every feature available in Desktop works properly on Live.

“Polished reports with easy dashboards”
Pros
Using it is not a hassle and getting around the platform is easy too. The reporting interface looks clean and professional and the customization options are a big plus as well.
Cons
One thing I'd really want is client-facing logins we could share with clients so they can check dashboards on their own in real time, instead of relying on us to download and send everything each time.

“Strong dashboards with good visuals”
Pros
The visualization features are really strong. Working with large data sets, multiple dashboards and different graphs in Tableau feels much more manageable than it does on other platforms.
Cons
Integration still needs a lot of work. Plus it cannot read formula fields from Salesforce which is frustrating because those fields have to be rebuilt again inside the tool.

“makes a positive difference”
Pros
The way information is visualized in Tableau makes a big difference. Compared with other tools, it delivers a much better experience for the end user and makes the data more engaging to work with.
Cons
Getting started with the tool can be a little challenging at first but after some practice it begins to feel natural.

“Quick charts with strong dashboards”
Pros
Creating all kinds of charts and dashboards with this software feels far more capable than what Excel can handle. It also runs much faster than MS Excel when processing data which saves a lot of time. On top of that sharing dashboards across other platforms is very convenient and makes the overall workflow much simpler.
Cons
A few areas still need improvement and one of them is better customization in the color palette. Having more flexibility there would make dashboards look more vibrant and feel more user friendly.

“Highly recommended by users”
Pros
Honestly I am happy with just about everything in Tableau. It's very user friendly, incredibly powerful and overall a tool I'd recommend to anyone.
Cons
My only suggestion is around task cancellation as sometimes when I cancel a task, it crashes or stops responding which is definitely a downside.

“Flexible for discovering data insights”
Pros
It offers a lot of flexibility and that opens the door to doing a wide range of analyses. It's a powerful tool for uncovering new insights and spotting discoveries in your data that you might not have noticed otherwise.
Cons
At the same time it wasn't very easy to use without the right tutorials. When I was working with sparse data sets, it was especially hard to know where to start or how to approach the analysis.

“Dashboards that work on any device”
Pros
Tableau really shines when it comes to data visualization. It handles very large datasets well and even with around a million rows, the dashboard performance stays strong. Building dashboards is interactive and easy with the drag and drop approach and it works reliably and efficiently across different devices.
Cons
One limitation is the lack of scheduling or automatic refresh functionality. It also doesn't offer an option to import custom visuals. On top of that scaling it across a very large organization can become quite expensive.

“Features that keep getting better”
Pros
The software keeps introducing plenty of new capabilities, including Ask Data which lets users take advantage of natural language processing. Bringing in these added features helps Tableau remain competitive in the market.
Cons
One downside is that it doesn't release some improvements as quickly as competitors. For example Power BI offered a few features sooner, while it took longer to make them available.

“A central hub for KPI reporting”
Pros
Tableau works really well as a central place to keep reports and display different KPIs in one spot. A big plus is being able to create graphs and charts that I can quickly copy into presentation decks.
Cons
I honestly don't have any major complaints though it would be even better if data refreshes happened in real time and if there were more chart and graph choices available.

“Professional dashboards for leaders”
Pros
It delivers dashboards that look polished and professional while still being simple to understand which makes it especially effective for presentations to top management. It also comes with plenty of features to improve the overall look and feel of dashboards and the data prep tool is a really valuable addition for getting data ready before building analytics dashboards.
Cons
It would be even better with stronger performance tuning options, along with improved compression and more reliable error-handling mechanisms.

“Polished dashboards that stand out”
Pros
Putting together and presenting the information I need is very easy with this tool. The final result looks much more professional than showing everything in a basic Excel spreadsheet.
Cons
It is not quite as user friendly as I expected at first. That said, there are plenty of training courses available that make it much easier to learn how to use the software.

“Dashboards with broad compatibility”
Pros
Tableau is a great option for building dashboards and sharing them across teams to communicate data from a single source of truth. Its connections are reliable and it works well with a wide range of software platforms and ERPs.
Cons
The downside is that it is not as user friendly as some other dashboard tools and tends to require teams with stronger data management and coding experience, rather than offering the flexibility of a data cube with more self-service options. Creating custom reports on your own can also be challenging which leads to bottlenecks and increases the number of requests instead of enabling true self-service.

“More flexible reporting options”
Pros
It's opened up a completely new range of reporting possibilities for our team. Compared with the software we used before, this seems more user friendly and gives users a lot more flexibility when building reports.
Cons
There's definitely a learning curve with it. If you want to really dig deep, you need to already have a pretty clear idea of what you're looking for and how to work with it.

“Strong integrations with good dashboards”
Pros
This tool packs in a lot like so many features and options that it seems almost unlimited. It does take time to get comfortable with since building your own dashboards or reports isn't especially easy and the number of options can feel overwhelming at first. Still the finished dashboards look very polished. Its connectivity with data warehouses is excellent and integrations with platforms like Snowflake and Salesforce are a big reason it stands out as an industry leader.
Cons
This isn't really a major downside but the platform definitely has a learning curve and takes a fair amount of ramp-up time before you're fully confident creating or editing content. If you're just viewing data though, it's much simpler to navigate.

“Import Excel and automate reports”
Pros
One thing that really works well for us is how neatly Tableau fits into a workflow that already depends a lot on Microsoft Excel. We capture and store a lot of our data in spreadsheets first so being able to bring Excel files straight into Tableau as raw data is a big plus. From there, the platform makes it possible to turn that data into very strong visualizations with its feature set. Another benefit is that it lets you blend data from multiple sources and analyze everything together instead of handling them separately. The feature I probably get the most value from is report scheduling since it refreshes reports automatically every day. That saves me from having to repeat the same manual task daily and makes it much easier to keep an eye on important metrics.
Cons
Performance can become an issue when the datasets get larger since it tends to slow down noticeably. Also, while the visualization side is very strong, I think it could use more statistical capabilities so users can pull deeper, more detailed insights from their data.

“Secure access with strong dashboards”
Pros
One of Tableau's biggest strengths is the quality of the dashboards you can build after analyzing collected data. The interface is user friendly which makes the work a lot more manageable. It also helps on the security side since you can strengthen authentication by enabling SSO through Azure, G Suite and similar providers.
Cons
With the cloud offering, I do think Tableau Online should consider giving users more access to manage the server side because that can become a blocker in certain situations.

“offer multiple visualization options”
Pros
A big reason I enjoy using Tableau is the level of interactivity and the wide range of visualization options it offers. Preparing data is fairly easy too, the interface is user friendly and the drag and drop functionality makes building dashboards and reports feel natural.
Cons
One challenge is that the learning curve can be pretty steep for people without prior experience. There also aren't enough pop-up prompts or built-in guidance for new users and reporting can require familiarity with advanced SQL operations.
