“Fast dashboards that save time”
Pros
Working with data analysis in Tableau is very easy and putting together graphs and dashboards takes very little time. It saves a lot of time especially when it comes to presenting data clearly.
Cons
Compared with some other tools, the available options and filters can feel a bit limited although most things can still be adjusted with some tweaking.

“Works great with Excel and Oracle”
Pros
One of Tableau's biggest strengths is how well it works with other applications like Excel and Oracle. I have run into very few problems when bringing in files from those platforms and the whole process seems simple and hassle-free. Another thing I appreciate is that the company clearly keeps investing in improving the product which shows real commitment. With each update, the added features have genuinely made my work easier and more effective.
Cons
There are still a couple of drawbacks though. It can slow down a bit when uploading very large files and the learning curve is fairly steep for anyone without prior experience using similar data analysis tools. That said once you become familiar with it, it turns into a very valuable tool to have.

“Broad integrations with strong analytics”
Pros
It integrates well with a wide range of administrative tools and offers strong visual analytics charts which makes it useful for managing different areas of a company.
Cons
Getting everything integrated at the beginning can take quite a bit of time especially when adjusting all the parameters. It's also a little on the expensive side.

“Strong dashboards with useful insights”
Pros
Tableau has been a really strong tool for helping us organize large amounts of data from our clients databases and turn it into useful information we can actually work with. Getting started was simple and the platform itself is easy to use. The drill down features and visualization tools are especially user friendly. Overall it's a very good product although the frequent desktop updates can get annoying.
Cons
The repeated updates are frustrating and the price is on the high side. Not every medium-sized company will be in a position to afford it.

“Nice charts with strong dashboards”
Pros
Tableau really stands out for its visualization capabilities and user friendly interface. It offers impressive features for every kind of data reporting, whether I need something simple or a more elaborate visualization. The charts look professional and visually appealing. It's also highly extensible and integrates with multiple data sources without much trouble. Plus it makes data quick to understand in a user friendly manner and it handles large volumes of data while also offering strong suggestions for how to present it effectively.
Cons
Working with very large amounts of data can sometimes cause lag and in some cases the tool may even crash.

“Dashboards designed for executives”
Pros
Out of all the reporting tools I have worked with, this has been one of the most useful. I have tried quite a few competing products but Tableau has really helped me create strong dashboards that present information clearly to executives.
Cons
Building dashboards can be a little challenging at first and the learning curve isn't very simple. Still, once you get comfortable with it, it works really well.

“Web dashboards with strong analytics”
Pros
It lets me analyze data and publish dashboards to a web page which makes them simple for others to access and use.
Cons
The pricing model is the biggest downside. Even though the software's features are excellent, the cost can be too high for smaller businesses to realistically consider.

“Widely used and quick to learn”
Pros
Tableau has a large user base and strong community support so there's no shortage of help. There's also plenty of documentation available which makes getting started much more manageable for new users.
Cons
From the perspective of a power user at a non-profit, the pricing seems a bit too expensive. It makes more sense for organizations with a bigger budget. Since it's easy to use and fast to set up, I can see why a business would have an easier time justifying the cost.

“Dashboards that work across devices”
Pros
Its dashboards have become one of the primary tools we use across the organization for analyzing and visualizing data. One of the biggest advantages for me is how well it works across many different devices.
Cons
Getting started can be challenging for a first-time user since setting things up, building dashboards and troubleshooting usually require expert knowledge or some training.

“Flexible data visuals”
Pros
Being able to experiment with different ways to visualize data is one of the things I enjoy most. When I start an analysis, I don't always know right away which presentation will work best so having the freedom to test multiple chart styles quickly makes the whole process much more manageable.
Cons
The formatting side of the visualizations is harder to understand than it should be. The formatting interface is also confusing and it can be difficult to tell exactly what each option is changing.

“getting better everyday”
Pros
Switching from Salesforce-only reporting to Tableau has been a huge improvement for us. It integrates with Salesforce and lets us build really polished reports and dashboards. Before using Tableau, setting up reports in Salesforce felt limiting and often harder than it needed to be. Now everything is much easier to view in one place and the filter toggles make it simple to adjust dashboards without reworking the entire setup. We also have it scheduled to auto-refresh every day which saves a lot of time. Refreshing reports and dashboards in Salesforce always felt slower so Tableau has definitely made that process much faster.
Cons
At this point I haven't run into any problems with the software. Everything has worked well and the overall experience has been very smooth.

“Strong analytics with useful insights”
Pros
Tableau packs an incredible range of features and functionality. It lets you bring in and work with huge amounts of data and exporting results is just as capable. For almost any business it feels like a must have tool because it gives reliable, data-backed evidence that supports better decision-making.
Cons
The learning curve is definitely there and getting the full value out of it takes real training. Without spending time learning the platform properly, it's hard to take advantage of everything it can do.

“Good visuals for reporting work”
Pros
Our team relies on Tableau to bring in external databases and turn those datasets into visualizations we can use in reports. It's especially helpful that the underlying data can stay valid and unchanged while we build out different charts and graphics.
Cons
I do value the security benefit of the automatic logout but it would be better if there were an option to mark a trusted device so my account wouldn't time out quite so often.

“Flexible reports and easy exports”
Pros
Tableau has been really useful for customizing reports, viewing them the way I need and downloading the results while still keeping the data in Excel.
Cons
At times the number of data source options feels a bit overwhelming although that seems to be more related to how our company has it set up internally.

“CRM insights with decent reporting”
Pros
One of the biggest benefits of using Tableau is how clearly it shows me the way clients are interacting with our platforms. Pulling full usage reports is also very convenient whenever I need to share data with clients. The integration process was smooth and now those usage reports flow directly into our CRM which has been really helpful.
Cons
The user experience still has room for improvement. It isn't always user friendly when you're trying to locate specific information and there are quite a few features you would probably never discover unless you were randomly clicking through the system. A stronger UX design would make the data much easier to absorb and work with.

“Nice dashboards but slow to set up”
Pros
Once everything is finally in place after implementation, the dashboards really do look impressive and have a very polished, attractive design.
Cons
Getting the system up and running takes much longer than expected and the delay isn't only about the data connections but the overall setup experience as a whole.

“Good dashboards for client reporting”
Pros
Tableau felt like a very capable and powerful tool. The reports it produces look polished enough to share directly with clients which has been a big plus. Our team has built detailed dashboards that let us answer questions around product usage and engagement using a wide range of filters. It has also reduced how often we need to go back to the Data Team for daily or weekly stats which has really improved our workflow. On top of that we've recently started using it for text analysis as well.
Cons
That said it definitely comes with a steep learning curve which is pretty common for software this powerful and it can be difficult to navigate at times. There are also a few limitations, like the very restricted email alert layout and the fact that date range filters can only be adjusted by dragging instead of selecting exact dates. Some of our dashboards can also be quite slow to load.

Pros
Being able to build and view dashboards with all the different data points we need has been incredibly helpful. The visual presentation makes everything much clearer and it does a really good job of helping us understand our clients better and make better use of our data.
