“They broke their lifetime promises”

Pros

Generating text from scientific articles is a standout feature especially with the one click source reveal that makes everything more transparent. The AI powered text editor is also very well done and the source library adds a lot of value since it allows ongoing interaction and collaboration in a really practical way.

Cons

The biggest problem is the support and the unfulfilled promises made to Lifetime users. I paid for unlimited storage and unlimited AI usage and those benefits were later taken away even though I had been assured they would remain included.

“Answers are better when they include citations”

Pros

Even though I already pay for ChatGPT, I still keep using Afforai for two clear reasons. One the replies are often better and more detailed and it includes citations so I can verify exactly where the information is coming from.

Cons

The only real drawback for me was getting used to a new interface at first but the onboarding handled that well enough that it stopped being an issue.

There is really not much for me to complain about. If I had to point out one small drawback, it would be the limited number of tutorials available right now. But as the user community keeps growing, more YouTube walkthroughs are starting to appear. The truth is, the platform is fairly easy to use and explains itself well. Even without any prior experience using APIs or other chatbot tools, it's still quite manageable to learn and use.

The team behind Afforai clearly understands the research space and has a well-defined roadmap for how an AI tool should support it. There are also useful materials available that explain how to use this tool, how chats are structured and how prompts should be written.

I haven't noticed any downsides yet since the tool is still new and we actually decided to upgrade our plan because we believe in its future development.

“One-click summaries work great”

Pros

Being able to summarize multiple documents with a single click is incredibly useful and saves a lot of time.

Cons

One limitation is that it still cannot write equations in their standard format which makes them harder to understand.
