“excellent text-to-video creation”

Pros

Creating videos from text and blog posts is really simple and convenient.

Cons

At times, the suggested video clips aren't completely accurate so I need to manually choose better ones.

Pros

Turning a blog post into a video is definitely more convenient with this tool.

Cons

A few limitations make it harder to get the results I want. There's no permission to use the audio and creating videos that are properly optimized for YouTube takes a lot of extra editing. It also doesn't let you generate new slides with AI so you have to build them manually. If you're not very good at that or at finding media that matches the text, the final video probably won't turn out looking very good.

“beginner-friendly video creation”

Pros

Getting started with it was very simple and it feels especially welcoming for beginners. There's a strong range of templates to pick from which helps a lot. The standout feature for me is being able to paste in a link to an article or blog post and have Lumen5 turn it into a rewritten script and create a video from that content without much effort.

Cons

One thing I did run into was a small problem with captions. On some templates, I wasn't able to customize them or add captions the way I wanted.

“Handy screen recording for training”

Pros

It's been really helpful for putting together videos quickly, whether Im recording myself, my screen or both at the same time. Ive used it to walk coworkers through a few steps in a process and it makes creating and sharing those videos very simple.

Cons

Nothing about it feels especially standout but I also haven't run into any real problems with it. If anything, it would be nice to have filter options for videos.

Pros

This software works really well for short, simple videos and does a good job when you need something quick and simple.

Cons

The images could match the specific part of the video much better. Quite often with the text-to-video feature, the visuals that get added don't really relate to the text they're supposed to represent.

Pros

Putting together videos with it takes very little time and the whole process feels simple too. The templates are well designed and help create polished, professional-looking videos without much effort.

Cons

Pricing is where it feels harder to justify. The Starter plan is currently $79 USD and even the Basic plan at $29 USD does not include 1080p video resolution which makes the platform feel extremely expensive.

Pros

Compared with other products, this one performs really well. Once you understand how it works, there are plenty of different ways to use it.

Cons

More detailed documentation would definitely help. Getting started felt fairly difficult at first.

Pros

Turning a text prompt or even a Zoom call into branded videos is a really appealing idea and that concept is what I liked most about the software.

Cons

The text-to-video feature seems to work better for generic clips but when the video needs to feel more intentional or serve a specific purpose, the results are not that strong. The images picked by the AI also come across as too generic and if I have to do a lot of editing myself, I'd rather just use CapCut or Canva. the pricing doesn't feel very competitive.

Pros

It fits into pretty much any workflow without much effort especially when you need to create quick, simple videos for platforms like LinkedIn.

Cons

Only downsides are the usual admin-related things, like invoicing and subscription management.

“Fantastic for video ads”

Pros

Turning articles into engaging video content with it has been a huge plus for me. I can just paste in a link and quickly rebuild the content into really effective informational videos. It also works very well when I need to create video formats for Facebook Ads. The transition effects are genuinely nice and the media library available for adding videos is excellent. I'd definitely recommend it.

Cons

I'd still love to see a wider selection of sound options for the videos. Some of the audio tracks felt a bit flat and not very engaging for the kind of projects I work on although overall it's not something I can complain too much about.

“fast video creation with lots of possibilities”

Pros

Creating automatic video-based visual content and presentations is much more manageable with this software. The workflow is simple and quick and even though it feels like a basic app at first, it offers a lot of possibilities once you start using it.

Cons

Getting comfortable with it can take a bit of time, mainly because the interface feels a little unconventional. The selection of templates and designs is also somewhat limited and at times the template-based videos end up looking more like a PowerPoint presentation than an actual video.

“They have a great media library”

Pros

Creating video content with this platform was my first pick. It offers plenty of useful options although the design flexibility can feel a bit restricted at times. Templates come with preset text placement so instead of drag-and-drop, you're limited to choosing positions like corner or center. It works really well if you're not overly focused on fine design details. One thing I appreciated is that within a single template, a slide can be swapped out for a different design. The media library also gives you a satisfying selection of content to work with.

Cons

Once you move beyond the Basic paid plan, there are a lot more features that make the work much easier but the Free and Basic tiers don't offer nearly as much. You're unable to change colors or add your own logo and access to media inside the platform depends heavily on the plan you have. If someone wants customization options or higher-quality images and videos, they basically need to upgrade to the Starter plan. To me, that pricing feels too high.

“Strong renders”

Pros

Getting started with this tool takes almost no effort and the platform is very simple to use. The media library is decent and the video quality after rendering turns out really well.

Cons

The voice-over feature is poor and honestly needs to be rebuilt. A lot of the templates feel too similar and there's no way to create animated videos.
