“Streamlines the patent search process
Pros
This platform really streamlines the patent search process, making it more targeted and effective at pulling up all the important documents compared to other services. I have also found the tools for building detailed searches, merging different queries and running rule-based analysis to be invaluable for understanding the IP landscape. Looking back at my old searches, the wide range of filters was a standout feature for quickly honing in on the best results. Plus the AI-powered search is another major plus, taking the whole experience to a new level of power and ease.
Cons
The main drawback for me is the limits on the standard plan like caps on creating reports and downloading files. So these restrictions can be challenging when we are handling big projects that need comprehensive documentation.

“remarkably easy patent searching
Pros
Searching for patents is remarkably easy with PatSnap. It includes every standard search method you could want, plus an AI-driven Semantic Search that works impressively well. The filtering system is also very effective. Several features like the different view modes, auto-translation and image labeling, drastically cut down the time needed to review patents.
Cons
It can occasionally be tricky to locate the newest tools and features they have added.

“a powerhouse for patent searches
Pros
My favorite aspect is the ability to use several different search methods simultaneously and combine them all. For my patent invalidation work, I often start with a patent number and then refine using keywords, CPC codes and the amazing semantic similarity filter. The customizable data fields are a huge help too and I frequently use the image search, appreciating how it shows the result list alongside key diagrams. Plus the visual patent family grouping is another excellent feature and the database's vast coverage with flawless English translations is the icing on the cake.
Cons
I dont have any particular dislikes but one feature I'd love to see is a dedicated AI workspace where we could use prompts across the various analytics sections.

“An excellent resource for patent research
Pros
It is an excellent resource for patent research. The semantic search feature, in particular has completely changed how I work.
Cons
The user interface is not the most instinctive at first glance, though it does not take too long to get the hang of it.

“Simplifies IP management and strategy
Pros
Working in life sciences tech transfer, I depend on Patsnap Analytics to simplify IP management, speed up R&D intelligence and guide our strategy. The platform provides an unmatched scope of global information, covering patents, biosequences, chemical data, clinical trials and journals. Its semantic and structure-based searching makes it simple to find relevant intellectual property, check for novelty and map out technology and competitor landscapes. So for our office, this means we can evaluate inventions, conduct FTO analyses and perform prior art searches much faster and with greater confidence. Plus the specialized AI and analytics have revolutionized how we convert complicated data into practical strategies.
Cons
For me the price is a factor, especially for add-on modules like the chemical sequences database which come at a pretty high cost.

“Semantic search brings relevant results
Pros
The semantic search brings back results that are all on topic for my field and many of them are genuinely useful and relevant.
Cons
I feel like the highlighter tool could use an upgrade. Right now the vertical color bars can get jumbled together, which makes them hard to distinguish when you are reviewing documents.

“Speeds up patent research dramatically
Pros
Patsnap Analytics speeds up patent research dramatically with its AI-driven semantic search that finds genuinely relevant results, not just keyword matches. Plus the personalized patent summaries are another great help. And its advanced workspace also makes it simple to build custom reports, which really improves how we manage projects and talk to clients.
Cons
It would be really useful to have a feature that could combine result sets from different types of specialized searches into one unified view.

“Excellent filtering saves me time
Pros
The filtering for search results is excellent as it saves me so much time and makes every search count.
Cons
At times the search syntax can be confusing at times and I feel like it would be helpful if the platform pointed out errors in an advanced search query, especially with misplaced brackets.

“Very easy landscape searches
Pros
Conducting landscape searches is very easy with Patsnap. The workspace feature is amazing too as I can easily pull together different searches on a topic and track citations in both directions.
Cons
It is not the best tool for due diligence work. Also finding specific application numbers and filing dates is not as easy as it should be.

“Incredibly useful all-in-one screen
Pros
Having the patent description, text and images all on one screen is incredibly useful for getting a quick, clear picture of the important details. I also find it very helpful to directly compare the original claims with the granted ones and to have references automatically linked to their descriptions. These tools make the whole research process faster, smoother and much more thorough.
Cons
There are a few areas that could be enhanced like the wildcard feature in the Highlighters and the ability to save complex past searches. But these are small issues compared to everything the platform does well. However I am still very happy with its performance and the breadth of its features.

“Acts quickly on user feedback
Pros
Besides how easy it is to use, what really stands out to me is how quickly the team acts on user feedback and rolls out improvements, keeping the platform at the cutting edge. Plus the sheer size of the Patsnap Analytics database is impressive and filtering through both patents and non-patent literature is very user-friendly.
Cons
A few of the filtering options are a bit buried and not the easiest to find or use.

“analytics abilities are of next level
Pros
The analytics capabilities are too good. Also they seem to have thought of every possible angle for examining patent data.

There is nothing I actively dislike. One area for future development could be adding more automated tools for drafting patents.

“amazing translator feature
Pros
One amazing feature is the Help Center which has every guide and tutorial you need to begin. My absolute favorite part is the Translate function as it lets you convert any patent you find into English, Chinese or Japanese and the translation quality is really impressive.
Cons
The Legal section just shows the status for the specific patent you are looking at. I feel like it would be really helpful if it also showed the legal status for all the related patents in its family so we could get a complete picture of the overall strategy.

“A top tool for competitive intelligence
Pros
With PatSnap's Insight platform you can create customized searches, reports and data views to examine the different IP landscapes of competing companies. Overall it is an excellent resource. The simple search process, the ability to save and work with my team, fast file downloads and a huge, reliable database all combine to make it one of the top tools available for any business looking to gain a competitive advantage.
Cons
The tools for competitive searching and filtering results could be a bit more user friendly and simpler to manage especially when you need to narrow things down. Figuring out how to run reports also takes a little practice at first but it gets easy once you get the hang of it.

“Powerful analytics with a steep learning curve
Pros
Their special analysis tool is incredibly powerful as it can chart out the entire landscape of industries holding patents related to your specific search terms.
Cons
One thing I noticed is that the way you have to build a search query takes some deep learning and practice before someone can search confidently and find the patents that truly match what they are looking for.

“Data is not the most accurate
Pros
I must say the information is presented well, though the data is not always the most updated.
Cons
For the most comprehensive data, I sometimes find that Google Patents or the official USPTO website has more complete records.

“An excellent and adaptable search tool
Pros
The search methods on PatSnap are extremely helpful and adaptable. Their semantic search totally transformed how I look for patents. The connection maps that show inventors, owners and cited intellectual property are also very handy. I even use it for company research because you can see clear visualizations of what kinds of intellectual property a company owns.
Cons
There is nothing I would like to complain about this tool as it's truly excellent software.
