Even on the free plan, the platform lets you do almost anything you need. For a small business, 100,000 requests per month goes a long way and is more than enough to keep things running. There's also a huge range of libraries you can connect with it. I'm using Next.js and while I hit a few issues in the beginning, the technical lead was pretty much always available to point me in the right direction which was impressive considering I was only on the free tier.

Cons

If you're integrating it with React or Next.js, having at least some coding background definitely helps. The connection can also be slow at times and occasionally throws timeout exceptions so you may need to configure that manually.

“Amazing engine that delivers

Pros

We first started using the very powerful full-text, multi-entity search engine while it was still in beta for our customers and that was impressive right away. Even so, the standout feature in my view is the fairly classic recommender engine service which powers about 90% of the pages across some of our customers' e-commerce platforms.

Cons

As mentioned, the search engine is currently at the Standard level but I honestly wouldn't call that a real downside. It keeps improving over time, with more options being added while our systems continue running on it. That balance has kept things stable for us and also lets both our team and theirs stay focused on building new features.

Compared with other services, the pricing is hard to beat. From an engineering standpoint, implementation was very easy. It offers a great range of features without making the interface feel cluttered so the core concepts stay clear and easy to follow. The documentation also did a really good job explaining how to handle the actual integration.

Cons

The only thing I'd really like to see is a button for promoting data from the staging database to the production database. Having that on the product roadmap would be incredibly helpful.

Pros

The setup process felt incredibly simple for our team and we had everything running in less than two days. For a smaller team without the budget or resources to build a dedicated data analysis department, it turned out to be a very practical solution that delivered great results.

Cons

One thing that feels missing is extra guidance or additional options to help improve the accuracy of the recommendations. The performance dashboard also feels a little too basic.

“AI recommendations up and running

Pros

When we launched our new platform, we needed AI-powered recommendations but didn't have the time or resources to train our own models. Being able to upload metadata for users and products and have recommendations working within minutes was exactly what we needed.

Cons

There really wasn't much to complain about since it delivered exactly what we needed.

Pros

The onboarding experience felt very smooth to me, the results are delivered quickly and the flexibility around different use cases is a major advantage.

Cons

One downside is that there's no match score available. It can also get expensive if you rely on all of the features, mainly because of the per-request pricing and you really need client-side caching in place to keep costs under control.

It would be really valuable to have a data center option available in South America.

What stands out most to me about this recommendation engine is the accuracy. The customer support has also been noticeably better than what I've experienced with similar companies.

Nothing specific comes to mind at this point. We still need to try it out with other languages though.

The interface immediately feels simple and easy to navigate for me. Checking user activity and tracking actions can be done very quickly without unnecessary complexity.

Pros

After experimenting with several custom-built models in our software, we ultimately selected this recommendation engine because it outperformed every alternative we tested and helped us move to launch much faster. The documentation is detailed yet easy to follow and the API design works well across different scenarios. In the end, it saved our developers weeks of work.

Cons

A nice feature to add would be some kind of confidence score for each recommendation. It would be really useful to display something like a "Chance you'll like this" rating to users.
