Well designed software

Pros

Switching to it solved a big issue for our RFP team, we were spending too much time trying to customize content and the drafts we got from tools like ChatGPT felt too generic. With Thalamus, the responses are tied much more closely to our real content which makes the first drafts feel far more relevant and usable right away. The interface is simple and clearly designed with proposal and RFP teams in mind rather than being repurposed from a general writing platform. Another standout benefit has been their customer success team. They were always just an email away and consistently quick to respond whenever we needed support or wanted adjustments made.

Cons

There really has not been anything significant to complain about. The only thing that took a little time was setting up proposal templates, mostly because our proposal output relies heavily on PowerPoint.

knowledge hub stands out

Pros

One feature that made the biggest difference for us is the Knowledge Hub. Rather than digging through old folders and PDFs, Thalamus turns static documents into structured, editable content we can actually use. It extracts things like case studies, project experience, key staff profiles, proposal sections and Q&A pairs, then makes all of that reusable for future responses. Another big plus is that the content does not just get dropped into a generic library. Each item can be reviewed, updated, assigned to an owner and monitored for validity. That makes it a lot easier to trust what the system is inserting into drafts. We have run into fewer problems with outdated material and spent much less time going back and forth trying to confirm ownership. It has also been especially helpful on larger proposals where the right details are scattered across several documents. Search feels far more practical because the platform is working with structured content instead of just raw files.

Cons

Initially, expiration alerts were not being sent to the content owners which made it harder to keep reviews current. We later discovered that this was a setting that needed to be enabled in the platform and once we turned it on, it worked the way it should.
