“reliable OEM repair details”
Pros
Having access to ALLDATA's complete and dependable OEM repair information was the biggest advantage for me. It gave me accurate service procedures, wiring diagrams and diagnostic information in one place which really helped improve both repair accuracy and efficiency when working on vehicles.
Cons
The downside is the cost which is very high for smaller shops or independent technicians. On top of that the interface seems somewhat outdated and can be slow at times when going through large amounts of technical information which can disrupt workflow.

“factory data that saves time”
Pros
Working with Alldata has been very helpful for car repair because it gives accurate, factory-approved information directly from vehicle manufacturers. It covers repair procedures, torque specs, wiring diagrams and service information for many makes and models, both old and new. Also the wiring diagrams are clear and easy to follow which makes electrical diagnostics and repairs much faster. It also includes Technical Service Bulletins and recall details so known problems are easier to spot right away. The labor times and estimating tools are useful for creating fair, consistent quotes. Since everything is well organized and searchable, it cuts down the time spent hunting for information and increases the chances of fixing the issue correctly the first time.
Cons
Some models or specific years can be missing details, have incomplete diagrams or contain outdated information especially when you're dealing with less common vehicles. The search feature also doesn't always bring up the right result immediately so sometimes you have to test a few different keywords before finding what you need.

“Good tool”
Pros
It covers OEM required repair procedures really well, the wiring diagrams are very helpful and the bulletins are good for most makes and models.
Cons
Keep in mind that it is a pretty expensive investment and there's definitely a steep learning curve. Plus it can be slow to load at times. Some diagrams also come through blurry and support isn't always quick to respond.

“useful OEM data but overpriced”
Pros
One thing that really helps is the OEM data since it lets me track mileage and pull factory direct repair information from the manufacturer. It gives quick access to direct repair details which makes it useful when I need accurate information fast.
Cons
The biggest downside is the cost especially for smaller repair shops. On top of that customer support is not very reliable which can create even more problems when help is needed.

“diagnostics that really help”
Pros
The best parts of AllData for me was the diagnostic software. Diagnostics has always been the area where I need the most help when working on vehicles and this really made a difference. It broke everything down in a way that was much easier to follow and understand.
Cons
Honestly I didn't have anything to dislike. It covers a huge range of vehicles both domestic and international which makes it even more useful.

“Accurate diagrams that save hours”
Pros
Having access to such a huge library of accurate wiring diagrams and OEM repair procedures makes a real difference. It gives us exactly the information needed for complicated diagnostics and saves a lot of time when we are working under the hood.
Cons
The search interface is a little outdated and confusing at times. It can take too many clicks to track down a specific part location and the subscription price is pretty steep for smaller shops.

“overpriced for basic features”
Pros
Digital video inspection was honestly the one feature I really liked in ALLDATA. Beyond that the shop manager side of the program did not work very well for us and the overall cost felt far too high for what was included. Paying over $400 a month for basic features just doesn't make much sense for a brand-new shop.
Cons
After comparing it with other shop management software options for the auto industry, the pricing turned out to be much higher than anything else we came across.

“billing ruins the experience”
Pros
It's very helpful for diagnosing problems and tracking them down using diagrams or notes from other technicians who documented how they fixed similar issues.
Cons
The billing side and account management are terrible. They seem to care only about making money and I would never use them again.

“false promises and awful support”
Pros
I cannot point to a single good thing about this company. The promises they make are misleading and the customer service has been terrible.
Cons
They claimed the software would automatically integrate with CCC, scrub estimates and even provide suggestions to raise ticket value based on supposed results from other customers. None of that turned out to be true. On top of that they now refuse to cancel my subscription and insist I am locked into a 12 month contract.

“Quite a useful tool”
Pros
The amount of detail and technical information in this software is hard to beat. It's especially useful being able to look up repairs by mileage and see reported fixes from others.
Cons
At times following certain navigation paths takes you farther away from the answer you actually need. And when inaccurate data gets added by someone, it can end up causing more confusion than help.

“Provide repair info for every vehicle”
Pros
No matter which vehicle I was working on, ALLDATA had a huge amount of useful information that helped in just about any repair situation that came up.
Cons
The biggest downside for me was the interface as it seems overwhelming at the beginning and can be difficult to navigate.

“Must have for professionals”
Pros
Everything in Alldata is easy to work with and overall it is like an essential tool for any professional in the field.
Cons
To me the wiring diagrams still aren't the strongest part. They have improved over time but on certain makes they can still be difficult to follow especially since the OEM diagrams are laid out the same way.

“Billing issue still unresolved”
Pros
The website itself is good and the information on it is useful but that really stops mattering when you need to speak to someone about billing. I canceled Alldata yet they have continued charging my card and I have been trying to get this sorted out for over four months now.
Cons
Getting help with payment problems has been very poor. I stopped using this tool but they keep charging my card and I have been trying for more than four months to get the issue fixed without success.

“Confusing service, but great info”
Pros
I really enjoy using the software because the interface is super interesting and easy to get the hang of. It has all the features I could ever need and it makes navigating the service really smooth. I can always find what I need to make everything work perfectly.
Cons
There aren't a lot of browsing options or categories in this software. And if the company's server isn't working properly or the internet's slow, I can't access any of the data stored in it, which is super frustrating.

“Alldata keeps crashing online”
Pros
The color wiring diagrams are pretty much the only thing that stands out to me. They're helpful but that's about it.
Cons
It crashes way too often, especially at the end of the day when customers are picking up their cars. It's really annoying.

“Below Avg software”
Pros
I'm still a little unsure. So far, I've only used AllData because it's been my go-to. I'm actually thinking of switching providers now but I'm still looking around.
Cons
There are a lot of issues with incorrect statements on invoices. Plus, there's no access to reports and I can't even organize labor and parts properly. There's also no daily sales ledger for operations, which makes tracking things difficult.
