reliable equipment tracking

Pros

Keeping up with equipment history is really useful and the inspection functionality helps a lot as well.

Cons

Support has been frustrating because it's entirely web-based and on the rare occasion they call back, communication can be difficult due to broken English. I still haven't spoken with anyone based in the U.S. On top of that, I was told an email feature would be included in the next update but it's been over a year and I'm still waiting. They also let go of the dedicated support person we had because of Aptean budget cuts so now we're left without anyone.

Costly and slow support

Pros

It's helpful having everything in a single system instead of purchasing several separate products and trying to get them to work together. The new technician module is also a really nice addition for front-line technicians.

Cons

It would be much better if there were more customization options. The cost is also high and tech support takes too long when it comes to getting issues resolved.

user-friendly and powerful

Pros

Using it has been very simple and I don't need to rely on an IT person to write scripts just to pull information from the database. That convenience makes it really valuable.

Cons

The annual licensing fees are expensive.

Powerful CMMS with excellent support

Pros

From setup to daily use, this CMMS has been a really strong solution. It's fully functional, scales well and the configuration and implementation process was quick. The security settings and setup options are flexible which makes it much simpler to support the different needs of various user groups. Navigation is simple and it's convenient to add or update equipment, create and schedule work orders and pull up equipment history by location or serial ID. The Library module is also very useful for accessing documents, equipment manuals and drawings right inside the system. On top of that, it's helpful to export data for outside reporting or create reports directly with the Analytics module. The mobile app is another plus, offering a organized field version that syncs with the desktop version of TabWare. We've also been very happy with the software itself and the outstanding customer support.

Cons

One thing that would make it even better is having a few more search options in the Asset Transfer window, such as searching by serial ID or description.

Helpful support but too many glitches

Pros

Their support team has been reliable and quick to respond which has made a difference. The training they provide is also a valuable benefit.

Cons

The system has run into quite a few glitches and it hasn't been as customizable as we were expecting. The initial training period also feels too short since trying to cover everything in five days is unrealistic unless you have nothing else going on.

helpful modules and smart equipment tracking

Pros

One thing that has consistently stood out is how helpful the support team is. They know the product very well and are always able to point users in the right direction. Moving between modules, such as going from requisitions to inventory, saves a lot of time and makes day-to-day work much more efficient. The connection between the work order module and the equipment module is also very useful especially when reviewing where the highest equipment spending is happening across different plant locations. Another feature that adds a lot of value is the equipment tree. When employees transfer or leave, it makes it much more smooth for new staff to look up items and bills of material without losing continuity. The query function is also a tremendous advantage. It gets used all the time to answer questions about when items were used, who used them and much more. That is just one example since queries are useful across all modules.

Cons

There are always a few areas that could be more helpful for users and one improvement would be having the ability to see the originating requisition directly on the front screen in the purchasing module.

4.0

Reliable partner and quick adoption

Pros

Getting Tabware rolled out in our organization was fairly simple. People picked it up fast because the interface is very user-friendly and doesn't take much time to get comfortable with. On top of that, working with the Assetpoint team has always felt like a real partnership instead of just buying a software product and being left on our own.

Cons

The only notable challenge we ran into involved an add-on module. Since we were using an older version, the licensing model for that part of the software had changed. To make use of it, we would have had to purchase updated licensing for that specific piece. That said the newer version did offer more reporting capabilities and a number of added features so the change wasn't completely out of the blue.

helpful trainers and flexibility

Pros

The customer service has been excellent and the trainers are always willing to answer even the most basic questions without making it feel awkward.

Cons

There's a bit of a learning curve at first but once the shortcuts start to make sense, the system can be fully customized to fit the way you want to use it.

Strong support and useful modules

Pros

One thing that has been really solid is the service support. The newer Analytics and Advanced Scheduler modules have also been a valuable addition and make the software more useful overall.

Cons

The downside is that printing work order reports still depends on third-party bolt-on software which is not ideal.

responsive support and capable team

Pros

Every person on their support team that I've worked with has been responsive and has taken care of what I needed without delays. They also did an excellent job during the sales process and followed through on the level of support they originally promised.

Cons

There's definitely a lot to learn with the system. That said I'm not really complaining because I understand all of that functionality is necessary to cover our needs.

Reliable system with intuitive use

Pros

Tabware Online has been dependable and consistently solid for us. Once users get through the initial training, they generally say the system is simple to work with.

Cons

One area that feels unnecessarily time-consuming is creating purchase orders and tying line items back to existing work orders. It would make the process much more efficient if the layout allowed the work order reference to be entered on the same tab as the basic line item details. The upfront cost per full-access user is also higher than similar products although the much lower annual per-user cost does help balance that out over time.

Flexible platform and helpful team

Pros

One thing I appreciate about the software is how flexible it is. On top of that, the company has been very good to work with and is always helpful whenever I need support or have a request that needs to be handled.

Cons

It is missing a number of more modern features that many CMMS platforms include today, such as Outlook integration.

4.0

quick navigation and solid support

Pros

Using TabWare On-Line as a desktop application in the oil and gas industry has worked well for preventive maintenance and asset management. The system is very user friendly so training people on it and supporting them afterward is pretty simple. The shortcuts and navigation links make it fast to move between screens especially since the layouts stay consistent. It also offers some flexibility with semi-customizable labels which helps with industry-specific needs. On top of that, exporting data to Excel is simple and the Analytics module is useful when you need more detailed data handling and reporting. The vendor's support team has also been professional and reliable whenever software questions come up or ongoing product support is needed.

Cons

A live chat feature would really help for quick questions. The admin side is also less simple than the end-user side especially when changes need to be made. Although it is possible to customize access and limit window entries by user group, doing that requires jumping back and forth between Production setup and Security setup.

Pros

Working with Aptean EAM has been very user friendly. It does a very good job with record keeping and retrieving data is simple and convenient.

Cons

I really don't have any complaints.. it's been a very good product. Setup is simple and using it day to day is just as simple.
