Pros

Having everything in one place has made a big difference for us. it lets us keep all of our governance documents together while also giving us a central way to communicate with both the Board and staff. It has made meeting setup and building Board agendas much simpler than before. We've also gotten a lot of value from the document signing and voting features. Another thing I really appreciate is that the it team is open to hearing ideas for new product enhancements.

Cons

Calendar is an issue.. since right now it only displays meetings. I'd love to see a calendar that could also include Board-related tasks, such as reviewing the 990 or going over the budget, on a shared published calendar. Bigger organizations may not need that kind of visibility but for a smaller organization like ours, it would be very helpful for members to see what Board items are coming up.

Pros

Running multiple meetings with different users is pretty simple with this software and it handles the basics really well. Being able to carry agendas forward instead of rebuilding them from scratch every month saves a lot of time. The built-in option to contact users through the portal is also really helpful and the reminder feature is a nice touch.

Cons

User and meeting privacy could definitely use some improvement. It would also help to have a permission level somewhere between a regular user and an administrator. Another thing that's missing is the ability to keep documents in the system for recurring monthly meetings, instead of having to upload the same files every single time.

Getting around the platform is simple and the interface feels user friendly from the start. Security is solid and it has been very reliable overall.

After comparing several options before buying it, this one clearly felt like the Cadillac version of the bunch. It's very simple to use and much more polished than the other products I reviewed.

One annoyance is that when I delete an attachment or an agenda item, the page jumps back to the top instead of staying in the same place. That means I have to scroll all the way back down and find where I was working again. I've also had the it portal stall at times and the usual fix is logging out and then back in before it starts working properly.

Pros

Getting a non-profit board to move away from paper can be a challenge especially with members who are hesitant to change. The best part about it is how simple it is to learn and use. Even our less tech-comfortable board members got the hang of it very quickly and the ones who were reluctant at first now genuinely love using it. Also, the 24/7 customer support has been excellent.

Honestly it's hard to come up with anything negative. Each new release adds useful features so if I had to name one downside, it would only be that I'd love to see new features rolled out even faster.

Using this app has been a really positive experience. It's very simple to use and my Board feels quite comfortable working with it. It has also made a big difference in getting board resolutions approved within 24 hours.

Managing a company means dealing with a huge number of legal documents, resolutions, board notes and similar records. This software keeps all of that in one central location which makes things much more organized. A big advantage is being able to track how individuals interact with the platform so you can clearly see who is engaged and who is not. That visibility makes it possible to take measurable corrective action when needed.

There is very little here to dislike and I can't point to anything that would make someone avoid buying it. Since we work in economic development and have a large board, I record a video before each board meeting that serves as an executive summary of what's coming up. Right now, I rely on outside services to play those videos but I would prefer to have them embedded directly within the site.

Having served on boards for both for-profit companies and nonprofits, I've seen a few different ways board materials get handled. Some organizations still pulled everything together manually and sent it out as hard copies or by email, while others used Diligent. Compared with Diligent, it is much simpler for staff to roll out and work with and it's also more efficient and secure than the old manual approach. Also, it costs less. From a board member's perspective, the interface feels much more user friendly than Diligent and since it's built to work well on phones and iPads instead of mainly desktops or laptops, I can access all my materials wherever I am, whenever I need them.

Cons

One thing I'd still like to see is the ability to search text across an entire folder of documents, unless that feature already exists and I just haven't figured out how to use it yet.

Getting started with it was quick and using it right away felt very simple. The interface is user friendly and the help files are well organized, simple to navigate and thorough.

It does include a voting feature but it's not really built for collaboration and that doesn't seem to be its intended purpose either.

It gives us a reliable way to organize and keep important meeting documents in one place. The system is user-friendly and works very efficiently.
