One of the biggest benefits of this application is how well it responds to events and automatically takes action. The automation engine lets you create rules that run systematically whenever specific triggers happen. That cuts down a lot of manual work and handles routine decisions in an user friendly way which gives staff more time to focus on analysis and other higher-value tasks.

At the same time, every channel across an organization comes with its own specific needs and differences. Because of that, getting everything activated and reaching the full value can take longer than expected.

Pros

VDR has been dependable, with very little room for error when carrying out actions. The 24/7 support is quick to respond, the redaction system is simple and the interface is clear and easy to follow.

Usage analytics tools feel weak and permission assignment is limited to just 10 users.

Sadly, our experience with both the Intralinks product and its customer support was so poor that we really can't point to a single benefit of using it.

This was an awful experience overall. The due diligence process is already stressful on its own and Intralinks only made it worse. We ran into bugs and the interface felt outdated and unnecessarily complicated for both administrators and regular users.

Across multiple transactions with many different counterparties, it consistently delivered everything needed to maintain a reliable virtual data room. The platform includes all the essential tools and throughout our use of it, we did not run into technical issues, missing features or undeveloped functions that were necessary for the work. Overall, it has proven to be a strong and dependable choice for managing a virtual data room when working with different counterparties.

It is definitely not the most user-friendly option available. While it does the job it is meant to do some users from other counterparties occasionally had difficulty navigating and using the platform. It was never a major problem and in the end everyone was able to work through it but there were still some usability challenges for certain users.

What really stands out is how many features the software offers for managing the dataroom. It gives complete control, including options to restrict access and prevent printing or downloading documents from the dataroom when needed.

Because the software comes with so many features and settings, it takes time to learn how to manage and control everything properly. As a result, it does not feel very user-friendly at first.

Being able to share data with partners is easily the biggest advantage of this software. Everything can be organized really well and accessed without much hassle which makes a big difference. It also helps that the platform feels user friendly and simple to use.

This is not really an Intralinks issue but on larger projects the dataroom can become extremely messy, with duplicate files and poor organization if it is not set up properly from the start. Getting that initial setup right can sometimes be a challenge.
