“Gets the job done

Pros

I love that messages are encrypted end-to-end. Plus the ability to make secure calls is simply amazing and the interface is really easy to use.

Cons

Well I changed my password and tried to log in but it did not recognize the new credentials.

“Perfect for smooth communication

Pros

What I enjoy most about Wire is that you can create an account using just an email without needing a phone number. Among other favorite features are the real-time voice changer which makes the app pretty fun and engaging and the screen sharing feature. The performance overall is the best.

Cons

I do not like that the app behaves differently on various devices. For instance my friend cannot use the voice changer and some other features are missing for him. On certain devices there is no voice message function which is disappointing.

“Good replacement for SMS

Pros

It offers secure messaging with all the features you would expect from SMS/MMS and voice calls. Plus it works on all platforms we wanted and can be used via WiFi without needing a mobile connection.

Cons

The user base is quite small and most of my contacts have not adopted the app yet.

“Reliable one

Pros

Wire functions well offering good video conferencing and encrypted messaging. Also it is affordable making it accessible to everyone.

Cons

Anyone who tries to misuse the app should be kicked out of the network. A stranger contacted me and sent inappropriate, abusive content. Even though I blocked them they are still using the software and targeting others.

“simple yet effective app

Pros

The app is fairly easy to use especially for chatting and I love that I can access it anytime whether on my phone or laptop. The end to end encryption is a huge plus as it shows that they take user security seriously.

Cons

It feels pretty basic and I think it could benefit from more features. I have also had trouble with syncing between devices which can be time-consuming.

“Lacks features but does its job

Pros

Wire app is simple to use and has a clean design without unnecessary buttons cluttering the screen. I especially like the self destruct message feature which can be set from off to 10 seconds or even up to 4 weeks. WIRE uses strong end to end encryption and is open-source which makes it more reliable than many other apps. Unlike WhatsApp you do not have to sign in with your phone every time you use the desktop version.

Cons

While its simplicity is one of its strengths I do wish there were more features especially when it comes to integrations.

“I absolutely love it

Pros

It is awesome to use. I use it daily for texting with both friends and coworkers.

Cons

Honestly it is actually the best product I have used from sending GIFs to photos and messages. But I would love to see more sound options on the phone.

“It needs a major upgrade

Pros

I was able to use this app to answer questions during an interview. Even the web interface was nice and the notification sounds when messages came through were really helpful.

Cons

Something happened and I cannot sign in anymore. It does not recognize my email when I try to reset the password and tells me I am already registered when I attempt to create a new account. It is very inconvenient.
