Professional Custom Bids!

Pros

I found ArcSite incredibly easy to navigate. We managed to train our inspectors in just one day. The various features and the simplicity of creating custom, high-quality, and highly detailed graphs that align with our customers' homes have been fantastic.

Cons

Overall, I don't have any real complaints. ArcSite lets me do just about everything I need to. The only improvement I'd love is for each project to automatically upload to the cloud instead of me having to send it there myself, but that's just being nitpicky.

Arcsite pros and cons

Pros

My favorite aspect of this software is its compatibility with my iPad. Often, I use this software to create a "shop drawing" right on site or to access the drawing in the shop, making mobility crucial for my business. The app itself is quite intuitive for the average person, and it's wonderful to create a drawing in AutoCAD so effortlessly.

Cons

I don't like that if I have a closed shape (square, hexagon, rectangle, etc.) and modify one side, it can change multiple other lines or every line. I have to be very careful to double-check each line after changing one. Also, the "angles" portion is very difficult when putting in a drawing with a rounded-ended object. I have to re-draw multiple times to get it right. For particular angles, it can be tricky to get two identical, opposite angles.

User experience of arcsite

Pros

What I like most is the ability to take photos as annotations within the drawing, allowing me to easily correlate the photos with their locations.

Cons

Not all photos in ArcSite can be found in the iPad Photo app. 2) There's no slide bar to scale up and down the drawing. I wear gloves, so I need to remove them when I need to change the drawing scale.

Review

Pros

I appreciate how simple it is to create a basic floor plan. The capability to display precise measurements and dimensions is incredibly helpful when I need something quickly while discussing with clients or planning a project scope.

Cons

I have no dislikes at the moment. Any problems I have, the support team has been very responsive.

Best thing since sliced bread

Pros

I value the ease and speed of functionality. I instantly reduced my work time on a job site from 90 minutes to 15 minutes. The ever-increasing functionality over the past nine months, with numerous and practical improvements, has been impressive. Its adaptability has allowed me to use it in ways ArcSite never anticipated, creating a unique, practical, and enjoyable platform.

Cons

My only "complaint" is the inability to create a custom line type beyond the established solid and dashed lines.

Quick to Pickup

Pros

I've primarily been using ArcSite for parcel site plans and some smaller personal projects. I might not be using it for its primary design purpose, but it has been a valuable visual tool for a few instances, saving time compared to hand drawing.

Cons

I don't like how the layer feature is part of the upgraded package. I feel the software would be much easier to use with it available, and I could better justify the price tag.

Window and door detailed properties

Pros

The best feature is exporting to DWG, ensuring everything is in high quality.

Cons

I can't give any properties to the window and door sizes besides the width. It would be nice to have a window pop up after placing the door or window to input the width, height, and sill height, and then show it near the window or door.

ArcSite is one of the best iPad drafting packages available

Pros

The ability to take a picture, comment on it, place it on the drawing at the correct location, and then generate an indexed photo contact sheet linked to the floor plan drawing sold me on its utility for structural evaluation reports. This has saved me a lot of time back in the office when compiling reports. The drawing functions are some of the best implemented in any iPad app I've used, allowing me to prepare a usable CAD file in the field.

Cons

Drawing items can be a little finicky, especially when starting out. Sometimes when I adjust a dimension of a wall, it doesn't behave as expected. I have to pay attention to the dimensions around the wall in question to ensure they don't change in an unexpected way. Also, placing predefined blocks in the drawing can be challenging if I need them to snap to a specific point. It's also a little pricey (equal to an AutoCAD LT subscription), but if you do a lot of fieldwork, it does pay for itself.

Great app for our use

Pros

It's very easy to learn and customize for different industries. Drawing and laying out foundation repair plans is now quick and easy. We can do it onsite in real-time, and our managers can review and approve repair plans remotely while our estimators are at site locations. ArcSite has dramatically increased our project estimating accuracy. Being able to review proposals while estimators are onsite has reduced our need for repeat visits, saving us money and increasing efficiency.

Cons

It would be nice to have direct access to the data in the database fields to create custom reports. The app is getting better, and hopefully, this may be available in the future.

Hobbyist review

Pros

I find it easy to do simple sketches and appreciate the unique ways to sketch.

Cons

There's a lack of features for more complicated drawings. I like to design on my iPad but am getting into 3D more, so I have to use other programs.

ArcSite for basic drawing

Pros

The Bluetooth connection to Leica measuring devices, auto cut when inserting features or adding walls, and its mobility make it easy to set up.

Cons

There's no desktop version, limited export options, inconsistent and limited dimensioning, and it's not easy to get area measurements. Higher levels are a bit expensive.

Pros

The best feature of this product is how easily you can duplicate parts of the drawing. When creating electrical schematic diagrams, using the one-touch copy and paste for multiple parts is fantastic.

ArcSite Use for Natural Gas Pipeline Industry

Pros

It's fairly simple to use for basic drawings. Being able to scale PDF drawings for taking measurements and making markups is very useful.

Cons

The snaps can be cumbersome at times, especially when trying to snap to midpoints. It also tends to lag badly when drawings become complex. It is also very difficult to draw an accurate ellipse, which is something I really need to be able to do.

Excellent drawing software for floorplans and building sketches.

Pros

I really enjoyed using this software on my iPad to draw building sketches in the field. The ability to change dimensions and have the software automatically adjust other walls simultaneously was great. The software was intuitive and smooth.

Cons

Honestly, the things I didn't like at first were addressed in updates after I sent feedback to support. The cost of the software for what I use it for is still a big hurdle. It is pricey. I don't know if there is an option for an appraiser-level package, but I would consider a hybrid package that offers the basic package plus a couple of extras for around $15 (annual billing level). I would like the ability to sketch on PDF and need to access the drawings from my PC. I don't need everything that the Draw+ package offers, but I need a few more options than what the basic package offers. The jump from the basic to the plus package makes it infeasible for my firm to consider. Currently, we use Apex Sketch for our work, and it is a standalone license that makes the cost much more feasible.

Great!

Pros

I like how easy it is to use and implement into our CAD software. I need to use it more often. We have it on an iPad, and sometimes that limits abilities depending on the stylus I have handy. I appreciate the time it saves by allowing me to complete base plans or designs right on-site. We use it for landscaping designs.

Cons

There isn't anything I can think of at this time.
