Support Experience is always first class, friendly and helpful

Pros

My users find the software easy to use, deploy, and update. Feedback is positive that it does exactly what it promises!

Cons

The software is resource-hungry. We use an i5 processor with a Solid State Drive, and some functions seem slower than others, so faster systems would be beneficial.

Cost X is functional, flexible and value for money. The technical support team are fantastic.

Pros

The software adapts to the type of work we do. As a specialist ventilation contractor, CostX has moved us from manual drawing take-offs to a quick, simple, and reliable system that we can review in seconds. We stay organized and know our projects inside out, so we can confidently negotiate contracts knowing our figures and quantities are reliable. We maintain consistent pricing with accurate quantities and stable rates. The technical support team is fantastic, providing prompt and professional service and working hard to get us back up and running quickly. CostX offers great value for money; it feels like having an extra person in the office given the volume of work that can be managed efficiently.

Cons

Training would be crucial for using the system correctly. Although I didn't get training, I still find it excellent. However, if I used it properly, I believe I'd get even more out of it. Also, the standalone version needs a more streamlined backup procedure, as losing data in Cost X would be a significant loss for a company.

I have been using costx now for last 1 year as a quantity surveyor it has made my life easy.

Pros

Multiple users can work on the same project connected to the CostX server. The workbook is easy to assemble from floor to wall area, floor base, and ceilings. The rate library function is a very helpful tool, and revision modes have eliminated my reworks. With the help of zones, you can set up multiple workbooks.

Cons

Avoid pressing Ctrl+F in the workbook to change spelling across the entire workbook, as it will make your dimensions appear as zero due to changing the dimension name linked to your dimension group in the quantity cell.

I really appreciate the measurement functionality and how it can be auto-linked to costing workbooks. Overall, I like all aspects of CostX.

Cons

It would be fantastic to have more Excel functionality in costing sheets, such as additional formula options and circular referencing.
