Customizable Interface, Powerful Scheduling

Pros

We've been able to tweak and customize the PMV interface pretty much however we want which makes it super easy to check on how each job is going from a high level. The schedule module is one of the best parts and we use it all the time to plan out our manpower needs in advance. That's been a huge help to our estimating team because it lets us stay on top of our workflow and make smarter calls about which bids we should go after and when. We used to rely on Microsoft Project but honestly, PMV's schedule tool has been way more useful. Also, throughout the whole setup, we had a dedicated contact from PMV who guided us through everything and he was helpful.

Cons

Since we wanted a custom look for our user interface, we ended up spending quite a bit of time getting PMV set up the way we wanted. But honestly we expected that going in, so it wasn't a surprise, just part of the process.

Attractive UI and easy tool

Pros

It's very interactive and easy to use. Changing settings and tweaking configurations is no big deal and it's all pretty smooth.

Cons

When it comes to approvals and workflows, I do wish we could add signatures to reports in specific spots. That would make things a lot smoother.

I'm satisfied

Pros

What I like most is how the installs module automatically pulls together the daily quantities to create our monthly pay app. That saves a lot of time. It's also been really easy to customize PM Vitals to match how we work and setting up weekly reports that get emailed to us has been easy.

Cons

We've run into a few issues when it comes to how change orders are added to client contracts, mainly because you can only generate one change order at a time. Part of the struggle is due to Brazoria County's signature requirements which make change order approvals more complicated.

Works good for me

Pros

It's been working really well for us when it comes to managing our projects. The different modules and the InSite feature give us detailed updates on where each project stands. Having all that info available to everyone, whether they're in the office or out in the field has been a huge benefit.

Cons

Getting used to the system and the different modules definitely took some time but I feel like that's the case with any new tool and you're bound to get a little lost at first. When it comes to project management, it works great. But for storing backup files, everything has to be in PDF format which doesn't work for us. We've figured out some workarounds for the data storage part.

Excellent experience with this tool

Pros

Before PMV, we used to track jobs the old school way, tons of hours spent gathering numbers and plugging them into spreadsheets. It was all over the place and unorganized. Since switching to PMV, we've boosted our internal efficiency and uncovered areas where we were losing money. Now we're able to keep tabs on every part of the business. PMV is a key tool in how we operate every day.

Cons

There are a few things where you've got to click around quite a bit to enter data. Not a lot of shortcuts which can slow things down.

User-friendly and easy to learn

Pros

Besides how easy the program is to use, I've gotta say the customer support has been top-notch. I can call any time and my rep is always there for me. He's got a great sense of humor, totally gets what I'm asking and always knows how to fix any issues I run into.

Cons

Honestly, I can't really think of any downsides. It's a solid program and I really hope LANL can fully use everything it offers someday.

System that delivers

Pros

It's simple to get started and easy to find your way around. Great system for what we need it for. There's honestly a lot of good stuff I could say about it.

Cons

I think the reporting could be better but to be fair, I haven't used it all that much yet. Maybe I just need to dig into the system more and learn how it works.

Helped us centralize all paperwork

Pros

It's user friendly, you can customize it however you want and their customer support is amazing. The guy who helped us during the sales process has stuck with us ever since, helping us out with whatever we need.

Cons

We've only run into a couple of minor issues here and there and every time, their support team helped us figure it out and get it fixed pretty quickly.

Our go-to for labor & project tracking daily

Pros

It's easy to use and customizable, so it really fits our workflow. We can ask to remove or add features depending on what we use and going through it is really simple.

Cons

There's no accounting software built in, which would've been nice. But honestly most project management systems don't have that anyway. Still, it'd be great to have everything in one place.

Favorite EHS solutions company by far

Pros

The functionality is super broad, almost limitless and their support team really helps make sure we can do whatever we want with it. So far, we haven't hit a problem that the software couldn't solve and that's pretty rare for tools like this.

Cons

Because of how powerful the system is, some of the setup stuff can feel a little clunky. It's not a big deal though, once you get it all set up, you usually don't have to mess with it again.
