Top planner system available

Pros

It is incredibly easy to use. The customer support team is really involved and always ready to help with any questions. They're constantly listening to feedback and adding new features. Plus, the design and layout are user friendly.

Cons

The export to PDF functionality and layout could definitely be better.

Highly Effective system

Pros

It's really easy to use and the graphics show exactly where we are and what the next step is. There are also some great summary charts that help me review the whole process.

Cons

Setting up the project is different from other apps, so you'll need to learn it before you get started.

Easy interface for visualizing work and constraints

Pros

The user-friendly interface lets both the trade partners and the contractor easily visualize upcoming work and any constraints.

Cons

I personally like the big picture analysis but I'm not a huge fan of the day cards.

Managing pull plans offsite

Pros

It's really helpful being able to have all the contractors collaborate at the same time using pull planning while working remotely. It's a game-changer!

Cons

Some features are very confusing. For example, when looking at a collapsed week, I often get confused and think a task is taking the whole week but it's actually just for a specific day.

Intuitive and straightforward to use

Pros

Happy that it's so easy to use and the user-friendliness is definitely a big plus.

Cons

There are too many options and the framework is complicated for me.

Easy project setups and great for weekly calls

Pros

Setting up a project, adding tasks, coordinating with subcontractors and updating everything is very easy. It updates in real-time and I use it during my weekly calls with subcontractors and the owner.

Cons

I don't like that it doesn't have task successor features yet, though I know they're working on it. Also when I export the schedule to PDF, it would be great to have font editing options to make things easier to read.

My go-to for scheduling on the go

Pros

We're a small to midsize commercial general contractor and for the past two years, we've been looking for a simple digital scheduling solution. Our team of superintendents ranges from 30+ years of experience to less than five years. The simplicity of this software and how easy it is to interact with has made the learning curve super short which is exactly what we wanted. Since all our superintendents carry iPads in the field, it's important for us to have access to project docs and scheduling info all the time. It has solved our scheduling issues and we're bringing our trade partners into the program too. Every morning, during our daily huddle meetings, we use RefinemySite to review yesterday's work, look at today's tasks, and spot any potential constraints. The best part? Real-time KPIs which are so valuable when we're making decisions about trades for future projects.

Cons

With any new software, there are always little things that pop up that need to be worked on. When downloading a long lead time schedule as a PDF, It doesn't currently offer a Gantt chart option. This would be really helpful when including schedules in bid packages for clients. Also, there are some places in the program where the Apple Pencil isn't recognized and we can't use it. I know they're working on fixing this. The program is still evolving and right now we don't have the option to link dependencies and predecessors but I've been told this feature will be available soon.

Excellent for daily and weekly readiness planning

Pros

The app is great for supporting daily huddles and weekly commitment and make-ready planning. It focuses on the work the project teams do every day and week.

Cons

It's a huge improvement over the old manual Last Planner System methods like using spreadsheets or wall-based planning, so it's hard to find many cons. If I had to pick one, it's that some of the features they're planning aren't available yet.
