“Can build assemblies

Pros

I really appreciate that I can build assemblies to keep track of and count casing pieces.

Cons

What I don't like is having to pay for it every year.

Found the overlay feature for change orders really useful and the app renumbers and renames pages automatically. It also lets me catalog items and assemblies, generates strong reports and their customer support responds very quickly.

One drawback I run into is how awkward circles feel and there's no way for me to snap to vectors inside a PDF.

I like that it's web-based so I can reach it from anywhere and I find it really simple to use.

I've noticed the app only lets me export to PDF so I'm stuck when I need other formats for different tools. It really should offer more export options so I can work smoothly with other programs. I'd also like the ability to tag items and quantities while I'm doing the takeoff instead of having to add those labels later as a separate task.

My favorite feature has got to be how you can begin a project, step away and return to it later. Every change auto-saves as I work so I never lose progress and can pick up right where I left off.

I've got just one major gripe, the way items are managed. I've reached out to customer support several times asking them to clear out old, obsolete items but nothing has changed and the problem persists.

Because we deal with such large and complex projects, I really rely on the takeoff tools and they're quite helpful to me.

Integrating the estimating module specifically eats up a lot of my time. I'd love to see more ready-made examples I could tweak instead of building from scratch.

It can't handle symbols and frequently misses numerous auto-counts which causes extra manual work.

If you can use a computer, you can hop into the program and begin doing takeoffs right away.

I would find a simple go-back or undo feature extremely helpful because it would let me correct mistakes quickly. I also wish there were additional filter options to narrow down results more effectively. Almost all of these requests have already been submitted by our team to the feature requests list.

When I'm presenting work to clients, this tool helps me make my company look extremely professional and polished.

I can't readily copy and paste takeoff items when I need to use different methods of estimating.

I've found the app really easy to use and consistently accurate and it's been genuinely helpful for keeping my time organized.

There are times when not all the plans and specs load for me.

It would be great to have more tutorial videos covering painting, tiling, finish carpentry and other finishing trades so I can better use the tool when preparing estimates.

For my landscaping business, it's really simple to use for tallying materials and the counts are reliable. I also rely on it to calculate square footage and it consistently gives accurate measurements while staying simple to operate.

Cons

On the downside, the tool's symbol-based material counter that scans the drawing to total items will sometimes mistake similar symbols for the ones I want and then I have to go back through and delete those incorrect picks. That part could definitely be improved.

I've noticed the web app runs slowly and the database is sluggish which limits its practical capacity when handling large projects.
