“Fast and user-friendly platform

Pros

I use ButterCMS every day for my work. It's incredibly user friendly, allowing me to switch between tasks with ease. The blog posting tools are fast and responsive and each page has a clean user interface. Customer support is also excellent.

Cons

I haven't faced any significant issues with it so far just sometimes there are minor formatting glitches but these are easy to resolve by myself and happen infrequently.

The documentation is excellent, with videos explaining each feature. The content modeling experience is intuitive for developers. Features like repeater and conditional fields offer a lot of flexibility, especially for clients needing heavy customization. The components even come with code snippets to adapt to whatever your website requires. This has helped us get up and running with various frameworks without a lot of ramp-up. The blog features and page types make it easier to structure your content. Compared to other headless CMS platforms, Butter offers the most competitive pricing, from startups to enterprise businesses. Pricing is often a barrier for smaller companies moving to headless, but ButterCMS makes it accessible. Also the customer support is outstanding, we always get quick responses and direct access to the engineering team. ButterCMS is also very open to feedback, and we've seen features get added based on user input. The best part? We don't have to worry about updating dependencies and servers!!!! It handles all the maintenance, scaling, and security. This lets us focus on delivering great services to our clients without infrastructure headaches. Performance is top-notch, with no downtime. If you're transitioning to headless, ButterCMS makes the process smooth and rewarding.

Cons

It has a more limited ecosystem when it comes to third party integrations. Due to its headless architecture that relies on API connections, plugins aren't typically necessary. That said, it would be useful to have pre configured ButterCMS integrations for working with other platforms especially for ecommerce. It would also be helpful to see more starter templates that include common features, which would accelerate the launch process for smaller websites. While it's possible to use a React-based template and link it to ButterCMS, having this ready-to-use feature would save valuable development time. Furthermore, it would be great if there were more tools available for cloning an entire website version.

“Flawless performance

Pros

The setup was super fast, saving us time and money on a developer. It integrates well with our BigCommerce e-commerce backend, so we are confident in having a fully functioning e-commerce website. As a not a very professional technical marketer, it is still simple to use, allowing me to tweak and update our site myself. When I have needed help, the chat support has been very responsive and helpful, which gives me the confidence to manage our startup's site effectively.

Cons

So far I haven't discovered anything that I dislike.

There are some particular features I wish ButterCMS offered, but they're always receptive to feedback and working to improve things.

“The best CMS platform i have used

Pros

ButterCMS is an easy tool for content management. I manage content in over 60 languages, and it keeps everything organized and loads quickly. If we ever run into an issue, their customer support is fantastic and gets back to us promptly.

Cons

Some features we would like to see are currently missing but we're working with the ButterCMS team to get them implemented. For example copying content across different markets one by one is time-consuming but it's a small inconvenience considering the platform's overall quality.

“Simple to learn

Pros

What I appreciate most about it is how easy it is to dive in and start working right away. I had no prior CMS experience but after reading the documentation, I was able to get started the very next day. The more I used it, the easier it became to navigate. Within weeks, I built an internal-use page. Now I frequently make quick changes with ease.

Cons

The only downside I've encountered is the media library. Finding specific media can be difficult as everything is stored in one unorganized folder.

The ButterCMS team is always in touch to validate client needs. Plus the ease of integration helps reduce the adoption barrier within internal teams.

Nothing major to complain about so far...everything has gone smoothly as planned.

“Meets the majority needs for B2B and B2C portfolios

Sales and customer support have been exceptional everytime.

Cons

Improving internationalization and localization would be great as well as adding more third party translation integrations. Also adding features for automation and intelligence would be beneficial, particularly in terms of quality control and automation features.
