“Solid product with great features, but pricey for smaller projects
Pros
We have used it on a few projects as an easy-to-setup API for different tasks. Overall, it's a solid product, and some issues have been addressed in newer versions.
Cons
The new pricing adjustments have made it quite costly for smaller projects.

“A powerful platform used as a headless CMS
Pros
After reviewing and trying out a few headless CMS, we chose Directus. We found that Directus is a comprehensive, feature-rich, and well-supported platform that is also intuitive. The main factor for us was their implementation of a multi-tenancy solution. I highly recommend this platform to anyone looking to deliver a single CMS product across multiple organizations with discrete, granular controls, and permissions.
Cons
They have raised their lowest tier pricing slightly but the previous pricing had been an affordable entry point with many features. That being said, the new pricing still provides significant value.

“It is the top headless CMS options available
Pros
I was extremely pleased and surprised that this is open-source software. The features provided out of the box are incredibly robust and reliable. I've never had an issue with it and have been onboarding many clients from other CMS platforms to Directus over the past few years.
Cons
There are almost no downsides, except for the fact that we have to handle the setup ourselves, but it's fairly easy once you get accustomed to it.

“Solid basic admin system
Pros
The flexibility and possibilities that Directus provides are amazing. With the latest version, we can now do everything we imagined. This wasn't possible with the previous version, and we encountered issues such as problems with multi-table connections, M2A, M2M, etc. The latest update has resolved all of those issues.
Cons
When creating certain fields, some cannot be edited like the only option is to delete them and recreate them.

“Very easy and helpful
Pros
Directus allows me to do everything I want with a simple yet rich user interface, making it a highly customizable solution.
Cons
Currently there is no option for automatic migration when making changes to the database via the app, though I've heard it will be added soon.

“It is the Best in the market
Pros
It's free if you can host it yourself, and it's completely white-label, which makes it even more appealing to our employees. It's highly customizable. If you need something specific, you can easily add it yourself, or contribute to the open-source community. There's also a fully managed cloud version available at a very affordable price compared to other services.
Cons
A potential downside for some users: the PHP version has essentially been deprecated. While there may be a version again, the focus is clearly shifting toward NodeJS. If you're hosting it yourself and aren't able to run Node or Docker, you might face challenges. File management could also be improved and made more customizable, particularly regarding how uploads are processed per collection and field.

“You'll love it!
Pros
Directus, as a pioneer in the headless CMS space, offers completely free software that can set up a full API within a few minutes. The app is easy to learn and travel with, and it comes with an SDK for developing applications. The addition of GraphQL has been a great update, and the community support is one of the best I've experienced.
Cons
The most recent version is written in NodeJS but uses snake case rather than camel case, which is the standard for JavaScript.

“An excellent and easy to use CMS
Pros
Setting up Directus was quick and the no code configuration saved a lot of time. Once I figured out what was required for deployment, it was smooth sailing. Future deployments, if we ever need to do them again, will just be drag and drop.
Cons
The documentation for deploying to Elastic Beanstalk wasn't very helpful. I ended up figuring it out myself, even though there was a page claiming that deployment was easy. It ended up taking a whole day when it could've been done in under half an hour with better documentation.

“My new go-to CMS for JAMStack websites
Pros
Directus is a lightweight CMS that runs smoothly on a 1GB VPS, which is fantastic. It has saved us a lot of money on hosting costs. Directus supports both GraphQL and REST APIs, making it flexible and powerful for integration with JAMstack sites.
Cons
it lacks certain automated installations, like auto-adding Systemd and Nginx or Caddy. These need to be set up manually. It would be great if the CLI offered full automation.

“Satisfied with this software
Pros
it provided us with a tool that made preparing the CMS for any website we worked on a seamless experience.
Cons
There is a lack of components, but this isn't a huge issue since Directus v9 hasn't been released yet and the team is actively working on it.

“It is ushering in a new era for CMS
Pros
It has beautiful design, excellent community support, and ease of deployment, which are all standout features. In short, there's nothing not to like about it.
Cons
The thing I dislike most about it is that v9 isn't live yet and I'm eagerly awaiting its release!

“Helpful and effective tool
Pros
It's free, open-source, and self-hosted. They really listen to the community, which is a huge benefit.
Cons
My previous review mentioned some bugs, but that was two major versions ago. It's been a while since I've used it, and I'm excited to dive back in and see what improvements have been made.

“Truly an outstanding open-source software!
Pros
Directus is truly open-source, and it competes well with commercial products. It has a very helpful community, rapid development, and easy customization options.
Cons
I'm confident it will improve over time but the documentation for some features and functionalities could be more detailed.

“The best headless CMS we've tried
Pros
The interface is user-friendly, and it offers a solid, highly customizable backend that suits all of our needs.
Cons
The new version is fully functional, but there are still occasional issues during implementation. However the team is fantastic and continually releases updates and fixes. There's also a supportive community that helps users get the most out of the platform.

“Fantastic project
Pros
With Directus, I was able to build an MVP from scratch to completion in just a few days. The user interface is friendly, and the community on Discord is fantastic.
Cons
Integrating with existing projects and services such as Stripe, Google Drive, etc., is something that could be improved.
