“My personal experience
Pros
The platform is easy to use with its point and click interface, making development quick and simple. The customer support is also top notch and the team is always helpful whenever we reach out to them. They have consistently delivered great products and services.
Cons
CPE's communication needs improvement, both externally and internally. It seems that even within our MS group, CPE does not always keep us updated. We rely on their expertise but they sometimes forget our specific settings and default to the standard configuration. Additionally they do not consider our need for 24/7 support which is important for us.

“Stands apart from other software
Pros
I have been using it for almost 20 years and it has come a long way. What started as a basic document management tool is now much more advanced. The Unity Forms are a game changer as they are smart forms that turn into documents once submitted and can be updated and accessed anytime. Unlike other forms that just become static PDFs or images, these are dynamic. Another great feature is WorkView which lets us create custom applications and tables, expanding its functionality even more. With its workflow it offers truly unique and customized solutions for its users.
Cons
Over the years Hyland Software has lost its focus. Several features that were promised five years ago still have not been delivered. For instance Unity Forms despite being fantastic, still do not display properly on mobile devices. Also I noticed there are many components that continue to operate as they did two decades ago and they have not been updated to the newer platforms.

“Really enjoyable experience
Pros
It is very easy to use and training users on it is a simple task too. Overall I really like how user friendly it is.
Cons
In the configuration settings I feel like all dropdown menus should be in alphabetical order.

“A key tool for us
Pros
The security and automation tools are what get the most use. They are essential for us to ensure that documents remain secure.
Cons
It is a huge and complex platform so learning it all is not easy as I thought it would be.

“Not recommending it to anyone!
Pros
I admire the product's vision as its goal is to be an innovative ECM that leads the way. However Hyland seems to neglect improving certain aspects that would make it even more desirable. For example the web client does not offer the full range of features that the Unity or Thick clients provide. Scanning capabilities are almost non existent on the web and the Unity client's scanning features are not up to par. Besides, users should not need to be experts for the system to work smoothly.
Cons
This product is worse than the one we are replacing. It lacks scanning features and has very limited web client functionality. It also requires thick client installations and constant maintenance of configuration files. The IIS resets force admins to work after hours just to make updates when it should be much easier to push changes and creating user groups should not log people out and users should be able to scan multiple document types without having to adjust scanner settings each time. To make matters worse, we cannot even swap out licenses for workflows as there are 9999 licenses available for any workview but we only need 25.

“Easy to use software
Pros
The product is user friendly and easy to integrate with other systems, plus the features it offers are pretty impressive.
Cons
Upgrades can be tough and it is hard to see the return on investment (ROI) for some modules. Though it frequently releases new features and modules but if it is not your main business application, I feel like it is hard to justify spending $20,000 plus 25% yearly maintenance for just a few new features.

“easy automation for complex tasks
Pros
I find it super easy to learn and it allows me the automation even for complex tasks. It has great commands for automating Excel and web applications which has saved me a lot of time.
Cons
There's nothing major to dislike, though I think this tool could use more features, like multi bot architecture.
