The file structure interface for organizing files is what initially caught my attention with MediaValet. It mirrors a traditional computer file structure, which made it feel instantly familiar and intuitive to navigate. This straightforward approach significantly simplifies the process of organizing and managing assets, ensuring that even new users can quickly get up to speed without feeling overwhelmed by complex workflows.

Cons

Features like sharing with lightboxes and galleries can be a bit confusing, especially when trying to make files accessible to non-users.

The setup process took a long time, and we had to collaborate with multiple teams within our organization to get things up and running.

I appreciate being able to send a link to someone to view content and I also like that it can handle large video files.

Navigation isn't the most user firendly at first but after frequent use, you get used to where everything is. When uploading multiple files like videos, you can't enter the same metadata for all of them at once, which can be a hassle.

Some features aren't as user-friendly as I expected and I wish there was a way for non-account holders to upload files when a link is shared.

“DAM solutions for companies with multiple brands

Pros

The setup is incredibly straightforward and highly intuitive, making it easy to get started right away. Training users is a breeze, and configuring administrative policies for both vendors and internal teams is seamless. This really help that the most relevant assets are accessible to the right people, streamlining workflows and improving efficiency across the board.

Cons

The system has trouble processing hyphens in part numbers. Since we use hyphens in part numbers, searching sometimes doesn't return all assets, which is inconvenient.

Bulk uploading, CDN links, and categorization options are excellent features for us.

There are issues with CMS integrations and syncing data, which can create some roadblocks.

“The best DAM solution by far

Pros

Whats there not to love! This is hands down one of the best DAMs available. I love the ability to easily create categories and folders and assign photos to multiple categories. The portal feature is amazing. I also appreciate the option to download image sizes directly from the platform, and save frequently used sizes.

Cons

It would be great if there was a way to directly import from other photo libraries like Dropbox or Google Drive. Also it would be nice if portals could include categories, just like regular folders. A better mobile suite would also be a helpful improvement.

We appreciate that MediaValet makes organizing and accessing our images and videos incredibly easy. The new AI features have enhanced our ability to quickly find specific images. The custom templates for downloading images in various resolutions and sizes are fantastic.

Cons

The UI between the classic MediaValet and the new AI-powered HOTDAM is quite different, which can be disorienting for users who need to adjust their understanding of the platform.

For new users, the upload process can be a bit cumbersome and may require some time to get used to.

There are many organizational and customization options, making it simple to create solutions that work for our company.

The search engine could use some fine-tuning, as infrequent users sometimes struggle to find what they need. Hopefully, the visual recognition features in the new HOTDAM will help with this. I'd also love the option to upload assets that don't show up in searches, such as editable files that we don't want everyone to access.

MediaValet simplifies making our photo and video assets available to everyone in the organization. It's easily searchable by keywords, so people can find what they need without help.

Cons

When categories are nested under other categories, clicking on the main category often shows an empty window, leading people to think there are no assets in that category. It would be better if it displayed a clickable list of subcategories instead.

Every time I've used it, it has proven to be very easy to navigate.

It took me a little while to reset my password and get the hang of the interface, but overall, I think it's good.

The file tree on the left side and the option for unlimited users are great features.

The root folder in the file tree should indicate if there are folders underneath it, as it often appears empty, causing confusion. Uploading a new version of an asset should be easier without the check out/check in process. The PDF view has a lower resolution and it would be helpful to download a list of assets as a CSV file to manage attributes and re-upload them for updates.

Pros

MediaValet makes content discovery smooth, with search features like OCR, text recognition, and facial recognition. Sorting content by tagging and labeling is far more effective than the old file system approach.

I'm still getting the hang of it but it would be great if there were a more streamlined way to quickly upload, tag and categorize new files as the current process can be time consuming when dealing with multiple types of content.
