friendly tool

Pros

Its super easy to use and very stable. I rarely need technical support but when I do, they are quick to respond. It's a reliable tool and I love how user friendly it is.

Cons

terminology tools could definitely use some improvement. They are not as easy to use as other features in it and I think QTerm should be built in instead of being a separate module.

great tool but no web sync

Pros

Even though it's not perfect, its really affordable and easy to use. I have not had much time to go through their self-paced training but I can still use the tool for my translation studies and schoolwork without much problem.

Cons

there is not a web version that syncs with the desktop application which is a letdown.

very friendly interface

Pros

UI is super simple to use. Plugin integration is smooth and I love how fast the response is. Predictive typing is a great feature too!

Cons

plugins are not free and the default saving location for projects changes to the cloud without warning. also sometimes theres a slow response when moving from one cell to another.

Versatile but web version lags

Pros

I love how it makes it easy to break down documents for translation and it supports so many file formats. It works well with other TMS software so I can use it with external tools or just within it itself. there are features here that some other CAT tools don't have and the quality error warnings work really well.

Cons

web version has been a mess for about 8 years. I don't understand why its not as good as the desktop version and it causes a lot of problems for project managers. especially since it does not support Mac iOS, Mac users are really limited to what they can do through the web app.

powerful yet lacks previews

Pros

the basic features of it are easy to learn and quick to pick up. It also has advanced features that are very helpful for translators making it versatile and powerful.

Cons

1. They removed the Hide menu option that was available in it 2014. It was super useful because it allowed me to temporarily hide projects without deleting them. Now, I have to use a workaround to achieve the same thing which is pretty annoying. 2. it does not provide a translation preview for InDesign files which is another downside.

good for teams but overwhelming for newbies

Pros

Its such a powerful tool for team collaboration in real time. It's become central to our workflow. We have even customized it to meet our team's specific needs. The Live Docs feature is great for reusing previous work and the support from it's training team has been amazing!

Cons

highly customizable tool but it can feel like you are wandering through a labyrinth especially when you are new to it. interface could be more user friendly but once you get the hang of it, the possibilities are endless!

Advanced features with clunky ui

Pros

we really appreciate the advanced filters that make managing various file types easy. The option to reimport files when needed is super useful and exporting and naming files is also very easy. there's so much we can do with this tool. The sales, training and support teams were awesome...they made the setup process smooth, let us buy the tool and connectors in phases and always responded quickly to our questions.

Cons

Its inconvenient that termbase results are shown in the same window as translation memory and machine translation results. The window is small and there's just too much going on in one place. As translators and project managers, we also get confused between the project management and translation windows. They look too similar which leads to mistakes like accidentally closing the wrong window. Managing multiple windows this way feels clunky. It would be way easier if everything could be in one window with color-coded tabs. Also, the word count feature doesn't accurately show our translation progress which is frustrating.

Easy to learn

Pros

what I love most about it is how easy it is to use and implement. Even in environments where users are just getting started, it's still pretty interactive. It has all the features you need but does not feel overwhelming which makes it perfect for both training and real project work. the customer support team is always quick and super helpful which just makes the whole experience better.

Cons

some of the advanced features in it can be overwhelming at first especially in an educational environment with students at different skill levels. It takes extra time to guide students through the complex settings. And sometimes, when working with really large projects, the performance slows down. but once you get familiar with the platform, it becomes easier to manage.

Switching was easy but lacks key features

Pros

its a really powerful translation tool with tons of useful features. I use it all the time now and have switched from my old translation tool. The switch was really smooth!

Cons

it does not easily display word counts or fuzzy match percentages which can be a issue.

Pros

Covers all the essential features you need for a translation service. The training that comes with the installation is thorough and really useful. Plus, the machine translation tools save so much time in the translation process.

Cons

Convenient but minor bugs persist

Pros

it is really convenient to use. It has all the features I need and the support is reliable. Plus, it does not feel as heavy or complicated as some other tools I have used.

Cons

there are minor bugs that stick around for a while before they either go away or get fixed in an update. It's annoying but it's not a dealbreaker.

Perfect for translators but web editor needs work

Pros

you can really tell that it was made with translators in mind from the start. Over time, they have added features to meet the needs of business clients but the core features that made me love it are still there even better. Its become essential to my daily work, whether I am freelancing or setting up translation teams in companies. things like corpus and terminology management, integrations, filtering and AGT make it stand out. the support team is great too...really professional and hands-on.

Cons

I don't use the web-based it Editor much. In my experience the local it version is much better for usability.

nice multilingual features with pricey subscription

Pros

multilingual delimited text filter option is fantastic. It's the most customizable and refined option I've found in any CAT tool. It lets me import exactly the columns I need, with context, character limits and from multiple sheets in the same file. It's perfect for video game localization since multilingual spreadsheets are the standard. The multilingual termbase with stemming works great too especially for QA, spotting terminological inconsistencies. And the stemming helps avoid false positives. It's awesome to be able to build a single term base across all my languages. Plus my old it 9 still works perfectly! A huge thanks to Viktor Mochnacs and Santiago de Miguel from Sales for helping me retrieve my serial number after my computer crashed.

Cons

the new subscription plan is not very friendly for freelancers who need to work with different clients on various CAT tools. I think they should bring back a one-time purchase option, minus all the extra features for translators who just need a reliable tool.

satisfied overall

Pros

Its super interactive and easy to use which made the installation and setup smooth. Reviewing documents is quick especially when dealing with tags and warnings. the import and export of memories are done fast and without any problem. The web version is simpler than the desktop one but it works well and using it with a live server is really efficient. I am happy with its performance and would definitely buy it again.

Cons

Overall... I am satisfied with the software.

Effective and efficient tool

Pros

I really like how effective and efficient the program is. you can break up projects and sections and assign them to different people as needed. Customer support has been great though they can't fix implementation issues that would require an engineer.

Cons

Setting it up was difficult and its not very effective for our workflow on one of our projects. The fact that it can import comments but can not export new ones back to Excel is really frustrating. Also, scaling up storage space is a problem. you can only archive so much before the cloud runs out of space and there's no way to add more storage without getting an additional project manager account. It would be great if they offered more flexible options for smaller companies.

works well out of the box

Pros

Loveee how everything works right out of the box. everything's set up to get the job done easily and with good quality. they really mean it when they say it's made by translators for translators...that's exactly how it feels.

Cons

new 11.6.8 version was very resource-heavy and didn't work well with the TMS I use with my colleagues. So, I downgraded back to version 11.3, the last LTS version. I am waiting for the next LTS version before upgrading again.

yearly improvements

Pros

the features keep getting better year after year and it's clear they're always thinking about translators when they update it.

Cons

there were a lot of false positives during the QA process. Also, it would be great if there was a button to mass-accept errors during QA.

Best price for translators

Pros

As a translator, I think it gives the best price/performance ratio for a CAT tool. The software is powerful but still very easy to use so it doesn't take much time to get the hang of it.

Cons

I have not found any major downsides so far. it works very well on my PC and I haven't had any crashes or issues like that.

simple to use

Pros

Very easy to use even without training. The tech support is really responsive and they have a great annual event.

Cons

it keeps logging me out of my MT (DeepL) API and it's not always easy to change settings even after watching the instructional videos (the screenshots don't even match!). I really wish there was a more guided process to set up custom templates.

fasttt tool but outdated interface

Pros

It's faster and more responsive than ever and now includes features like concordance search, filters and even QA checks...making it feel even closer to the desktop experience.

Cons

interface is outdated and overwhelming especially when compared to tools like Trados Studio or cloud-based CAT tools like Smartcat or Phrase.
