The thing I like most about Yumpu is its simple, userfriendly design, which I have grown to know very well. I used the free version for quite some time and published my first lyrics. After upgrading to the full version, I can confidently say it was totally worth it. I now have access to all the tools and can use the platform much more effectively. I highly recommend it!

Cons

Ads in the free version are a bit annoying but it is still acceptable since you don't have to pay for it.

I used YUMPU for a 30 day free trial to write my final thesis but when I thought I had canceled, I was still charged �215 after 30 days. Their site was very unclear and so hard to navigate. I had no warning, no email and no billing info and instead of the monthly charge at �20, they charged me for an annual subscription and when I asked for a refund, they ignored my request. This caused me to go into overdraft, incurring additional fees. As a student, this was really a huge burden for me. I'm extremely frustrated because the service was poor and I will never use it again. I learned that I wasn't alone in facing this issue. Avoid this company!

I've found that using it allows me to access a variety of modules, making the platform versatile. Integrating it into our existing ERP system was also simple and easy via the API interface. The handling is very smooth and easy to navigate. I would gladly recommend it due to the modular design.

“Yumpu's free trial is a trap that cost me $240

Pros

I only used a small feature during the free trial version but I found the billing practices to be unfair. I would advise staying away from this service.

Yumpu refused to refund me after charging my PayPal account $240 for an annual subscription because I missed the cancellation deadline by 5 MINUTES! I told them, "This is unreasonable. No other company would deny a refund under these circumstances. I tried out a small component, forgot to cancel and now you are hanging me on a technicality. I cancelled immediately once I saw the charge but you still want to keep my payment. That's abusive! I'm escalating this to PayPal. If you sent me a warning email, it must've gone to spam but had I seen it, I would've cancelled. People will learn from my experience and you will lose customers because of this behavior." So here I am warning you all.

Yumpu provides plenty of customization options for both the publication and presentation style. The upload process is quick and easy and the interactive features like sharing and embedding, along with Google indexing, really help increase the reach of my publications.

Cons

The product hasn't changed in a while. New and helpful features would be a welcome addition.

Bad customer service and only available with an annual payment plan, which makes it difficult for small nonprofits to afford.

Loading and downloading speed is excellent. The platform's usage measurement features are helpful, and the tools are well-presented, making it easy to work with the platform quickly and efficiently.

Cons

It lacks "animated" interactive buttons like the ones offered by Flipsnack and it bombards users with ads in publications if you stop paying for a plan.

Yumpu offers a wide range of customization options for your publications and how they are presented to your audience. The uploading process is simple and easy to follow. There's also a metrics dashboard to track your best performing publications and you can provide interactive options like downloading and changing the publication's style for your audience.

Cons

Customer support could be better but this may be because it's a European software company. Their customer service doesn't match up to that of U.S.-based companies and the features and dashboard have remained stagnant for the last three years. It's time for an update.
