Pros

Having AWS Security Hub pull everything into one place has been the biggest advantage for me. It provides a centralized view of security findings across multiple AWS accounts and regions, while continuously collecting alerts from AWS security services and third-party security tools. That makes it much simpler to keep an eye on compliance, prioritize risks and respond to issues from a single dashboard. I also really value the built-in support for standards like AWS Foundational Security Best Practices, CIS AWS Foundations Benchmark and PCI DSS because it helps teams continuously assess and track their cloud security posture over time.

Cons

One challenge is that the number of findings can be a lot to deal with at first especially in more mature AWS environments. Without proper tuning, clear suppression rules and defined remediation workflows, it can quickly turn into alert fatigue. There's also a bit of a learning curve when it comes to interpreting severity levels and deciding what should be prioritized so getting the full benefit from the tool does require some security knowledge.

It gives a centralized view of security alerts and compliance across AWS accounts which makes monitoring much more manageable. It also pulls together findings from AWS services like GuardDuty, Inspector and partner tools so everything is available in one place instead of being scattered across different services.

Cons

The overall setup and management can feel complex at times. Multi-cloud support is also limited and the cost can be a concern depending on the scale of use.

Pros

Running multi-account AWS environments and data pipelines, I really value how Security Hub brings security and compliance findings together from services like GuardDuty, Inspector and Macie in one place. The automated CIS and PCI DSS compliance checks are particularly helpful for maintaining data governance without adding a lot of manual work. Its EventBridge integration is another big plus since it makes automated response workflows much easier to build and fits nicely with the end-to-end data and ML pipelines I work on in AWS.

Cons

That said, the centralized dashboard can become a bit overwhelming when there's a high volume of findings unless you put filtering or automation in place. Setting up multi-region and cross-account support also takes extra effort which can make the initial rollout slower than expected. On top of that, native connectivity with third-party SIEM platforms could be tighter because right now I still depend on custom pipelines and Lambda functions to send alerts over for deeper analytics.

One of the best parts of AWS Cloud Security is the level of granular control it gives, along with how tightly it connects across AWS services. Tools such as IAM, AWS Organizations and AWS Config make it possible to manage permissions precisely, automate compliance checks and handle governance from a central place. On top of that, services like GuardDuty, Security Hub and CloudTrail make threat detection, auditing and incident response much more effective. The ability to scale and customize security policies for workloads of any size or type is another big plus.

Cons

A downside of AWS Cloud Security is that it comes with a pretty steep learning curve especially for newcomers or smaller teams that do not have dedicated cloud security specialists. The large number of services and the complexity of the configuration options can feel overwhelming and if things are not set up carefully, misconfigurations can create security gaps. The documentation is very detailed but it can also feel dense and scattered which makes it harder than it should be to quickly find practical, real-world implementation guidance.

Compared with other AWS security services that mainly help aggregate event logs and with Macie covering compliance, Security Hub feels like a much more user-friendly option when the goal is to stay proactive instead of constantly reacting to issues. The implementation and integrations are quick, the documentation is high quality and support has never been a concern since the AWS community is very helpful. It has honestly become part of my daily routine.

Cons

Nothing major to complain about. The only minor issue is that scenario-based setup examples can be a bit hard to find at times.

A centralized approach to security management has been a big advantage. The security standards can be customized to match specific requirements and the automated compliance checks help reduce manual work while keeping everything consistently monitored.

Cons

The cost can be a concern especially for smaller teams. It also comes with a fair amount of complexity and support for third-party integrations still feels somewhat limited.

Having a single place to view security findings from AWS services and connected integrations is incredibly useful. It helps keep everything organized and makes monitoring much more efficient. The automated insights are another big plus since they prioritize risks based on severity and context which saves time and helps focus on what matters most. I also appreciate how remediation workflows can be handled directly through Security Hub and overall it feels like a cost-effective solution for managing cloud security at scale.

Cons

One downside is the sheer volume of alerts which can become overwhelming at times. There's also no true native remediation for certain issues so some extra manual work is still required. Customization options feel a bit limited and setting up integrations can be more complicated than expected.

Pros

I've been really impressed with how much AWS gives you in one place access management, encryption, threat detection and more. I don't have to go hunting for third-party tools because most of what I need is already there. The level of control is another thing I value. I can tune the settings to match our risk profile and build something that actually works for us. Compliance is also a strong suit. AWS has pre-built frameworks that line up with common regulations, so audits and reporting don't eat up my whole week anymore.

Cons

The downside is that there's a lot to learn. Even my experienced team hits complexity from time to time. Pricing is also tricky their free tier is limited and the good stuff costs extra. Dashboards give you the basics but not much else. I've had to build custom reports or buy more tools to get the depth I need.

The compliance score makes it clear which resources need attention and setup is not complicated at all. We can also stream other services with ASH which adds a lot of value.

Cons

It is on the expensive side. The reporting dashboard could be improved and alerts are often delayed.
