Using it for years, support is always responsive

Pros

Blumira makes it easy to resolve issues fast. Its alert system is very quick often faster than Microsoft's so it is great for catching threats early. I especially like getting alerts by text which keeps me in the loop right away.

Cons

I feel like it could use more auto remediation features. Plus the interface is not as simple as it could be and assigning responders feels a bit too complex and time consuming.

Simple setup but login security could be better

Pros

The fact that it is free is a big plus. Setup and integration were also pretty easy and it comes with a lot of the features shown on the site. Though it is not fully loaded which is fair for a free tool but it is still very useful. I have only been using it for a few days and have already found lots of helpful features and so far I have not needed support as everything I needed was clearly explained in the documentation.

Cons

It includes many of the features shown on the presentation page and while it is not fully complete which is expected from a free service I still find it very useful tool.

Essential security tool

Pros

This might be Blumira's best feature that it integrates quickly with key tools like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, top EDRs like SentinelOne and CrowdStrike, firewalls and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. As most setups take minutes not days or weeks. Plus the agentless setup for many cloud sources makes it even easier to use.

Cons

Though its ease of use is a huge benefit but it also means there is less fine tuned control for advanced security teams or large enterprises with specific threat modeling needs and though we can build custom rules but they are not as flexible as what we would get with open ended SIEMs like Splunk or Elastic.

Works fine but expensive

Pros

Something I like the most is that it is very easy to connect with Microsoft 365, check the results and get deeper insights with custom reports.

Cons

The pricing model does not suit our needs as it's neither flexible nor affordable for us.

Provides quick alerts

Pros

Receiving email alerts has been the highlight for me. I get alerts for files in Google Workspace that contain clear text passwords which has been invaluable in creating documentation and training end users on the importance of security.

Cons

So far I have not come across anything I dislike.

Excellent basic SIEM for SMBs

Pros

This is a solid, easy to use SIEM solution that works great right out of the box. I would say it is perfect for small and mid sized businesses.

Cons

One thing I noticed is that it is hard to recommend a free SIEM built on a Microsoft 365 backbone.

Security it offer is both strong and perfect

Pros

What I like most about this tool is how easy it is to use and how quickly it delivers value. We got it set up fast and right away we started getting clear, useful alerts that helped us understand what was going on. The automated response features are a huge help especially for after hours issues. Overall it has taken a lot of stress out of our daily security tasks and cuts down on noise so we can focus on what really matters.

Cons

Honestly there is not much to complain about. It has been solid for us. We are mostly just looking forward to the new features they will roll out in the future as it's clear they listen to feedback and continue to improve the platform.

They have the best support team

Pros

Blumira connects easily to most cloud platforms making it simple to monitor activity across cloud, network and endpoints. Setting up agents and APIs is quick and hassle free. The alerts are focused on what really matters and I can fine tune the rules to only get the notifications I care about. Plus I can choose how I get alerts like via email, text, chat or whatever works best. The support team is fast and helpful too and onboarding was smooth from the start.

Cons

The UI is not the most user friendly but it's navigable. And some features require an upgrade to a premium plan which I feel like may not be necessary for all users.

Stands out

Pros

The best part is not having to worry about threats. As it is completely automated, user friendly and takes care of everything for us.

Cons

It detects and blocks threats very frequently which can sometimes lead to too many notifications especially when not all of them are critical.

Not just software, but a reliable security partner

Pros

After logging in and entering our info, the system immediately started flagging potential issues, so I didnt even need to set up alerts. The Solutions Architect gave me some great suggestions and recommendations. They also ran a scan on our environment and set up the report I was looking for, noting any missing details for future updates. It really feels like having an extra team member focused on our security, perfect for a small organization. I love how I can add notes and alerts that automatically create support tickets for Blumira, and I always get quick responses from their support team. The report builder is super easy to use, especially after the SA showed me how to pull the specific info I need. Plus, it integrated smoothly into our MS 365 and Azure environment, and I rely on it regularly

Cons

We initially only received 50 agents with our protection plan but I later realized it is best for all devices to have the agent running. So now I'll either need to keep track of which devices have the agent or pay extra to get more agents.

A great business partner

Pros

Blumira has been an incredible asset for our team. Out of all the SIEM/XDR tools we have tried, it is by far the simplest to use and the most feature rich. The support we have received has been excellent making it a pleasure to work with them.

Cons

Well I feel like the ability to customize alerts could definitely be improved.

Everything's been great so far!

Pros

Voice to text is very helpful for remembering why customers are calling. Also, it is easy to scroll through and check for any unresolved issues, manage multiple contacts and use copy and paste for documentation. In short it is proven to be an excellent asset for us!

Cons

There was an error message related to accents and some words were not recognized properly.

The latest recruit on our security team!

Pros

We have been using Blumira for centralized logging, log analysis and alerting and it's completely transformed how we manage security. What makes it stand out is its ability to filter out the noise that usually comes with manual log reviews. With it we get quick, actionable insights that help us focus on what matters. One of the best parts is the playbooks which provide clear step by step instructions for dealing with security incidents. These playbooks make incident response much easier and less stressful. Plus, the design shows they truly understand the challenges security teams face. It is like having an expert available 24/7 helping us manage potential threats with confidence.

Cons

Everything is going well so far. Though there is sometimes a slight delay when generating reports from multiple log sources but thats to be expected, considering the amount of log data being processed.

Overall an amazing tool

Pros

Blumira's SIEM platform is easy to implement and use. The customer service is also knowledgeable and the platform integrates smoothly. It offers real time monitoring, allowing us to gather data from various sources and visualize it in clear graphical reports. This helps us detect and respond to security incidents promptly. It provides a comprehensive view by collecting logs and events from security tools and IT systems across the organization. The platform also integrates with additional data sources, enhancing our ability to identify potential security. With built in incident management features, we can create and manage alerts in real time, and it integrates with threat intelligence feeds to keep us informed about emerging threats. It also supports compliance reporting for NIST SP 800-171, which is essential for us. Moreover it is great for securing cloud environments which is very important since we rely heavily on cloud services.

Cons

Nothing to major but more flexibility in scheduling support would enhance their implementation process and having more days and times available for booking appointments would definitely improve the experience.

It takes the work pressure off

Pros

The customer service is incredible. The team is skilled and quick to respond, making them a pleasure to work with. The system is easy to understand and set up, and they take care of all the heavy lifting. I can't stress enough how much easier this is compared to traditional SIEMs, where you spend so much time just getting them set up and then constantly trying to stay on top of new threats and features. With this, my small team finds it both affordable and efficient. It not only alerts us about threats we might miss but also teaches us things we didn't even know we needed to understand. After months of use, weve had zero issues, and we're excited to see how the product keeps improving.

Cons

I think the UI could use a little fine tuning. For instance, when accessing logs, you often need to scroll horizontally and sometimes a lot. It is not ideal when dealing with large datasets. The reporting features could also use some improvement and while this platform is designed for a hands off approach, it would be nice to have the ability to create custom detection rules.

A perfect fit for small IT teams

Pros

Setting this up was a simple task and with unlimited storage, sending logs from all devices is easy too. The intelligence and detection features are built in and work right out of the box. There is little to no configuration or maintenance needed. Besides that, we can add alerts for detections that are not enabled by default like Windows/AD account lockout which has been very useful and informative for us.

Cons

I have not found anything to dislike so far. I have tried a few free tools and while it is not free, we had trouble keeping the free ones running, so I am not bothered at all by the cost. Honestly I have no complaints at this point.
