“good security features but upgrades break things”
Pros
The automatic password rotation feature is helpful. Also the security options are solid too especially the one-time password and password change on checkout functionality. Being able to remotely connect to different protocols like HTTP, RDP, SSH and databases is convenient.
Cons
The system feels pretty delicate. Whenever I try to upgrade something inevitably breaks and the process is never smooth. Their customer support really needs work and getting integrations set up was a real headache.

“secure and easy setup but has MFA issues”
Pros
I appreciate how it lets us connect to servers safely without having to stress about cyber threats or security issues. Setting it up was simple too.
Cons
I've run into connection issues where I can't reach any servers after going through the MFA login with SSO. The system keeps telling me my username or password is wrong even though I know they're correct.

“Centralized solution”
Pros
It handles privileged access management through its cloud-based setup. The secret vaulting capabilities work great and managing all our privileged applications from one centralized location has been a game-changer for our security operations.
Cons
Password rotation could be better. It's not as polished as what you get with other PAM solutions like Delinea or Thycotic secret servers.

“Solid authentication management”
Pros
The authentication management capabilities are really solid. It helps our organization set up sophisticated rules for session control and monitoring. CyberArk handles enterprise-level authentication requirements exceptionally well.
Cons
Managing redundancy can be a real headache. When failures happen I often have to manually restart things instead of it recovering automatically.

“smooth integration with third-party applications”
Pros
I've been using it for privilege access management and it's really one of the top solutions out there. Managing admin credentials is simple. I can enable or disable access exactly when needed. The integration with third-party applications works great.
Cons
It keeps logging me out repeatedly and there are times when passwords don't get updated according to our organizational policy that's configured for password resets.

“effective session monitoring”
Pros
I'm impressed with how well it handles session monitoring and isolation. Really gives me peace of mind knowing what's happening. The password management features are fantastic too especially the automated rotation and reconciliation that saves me tons of manual work. What really stands out though are the remediation capabilities which I'd say are among the strongest I've seen in any PAM solution.
Cons
Managing the admin side can be pretty challenging and really needs someone with solid experience to handle it properly.

“Can deploy it however you want to”
Pros
The integration possibilities are endless. You can build custom plugins and connect with practically anything. I really appreciate that it can be deployed however works best for your setup whether that's on-premises, private cloud or a hybrid approach. Plus it handles cross-border compliance beautifully by letting you deploy multiple satellites wherever they're needed.
Cons
The password vaulting approach works well for emergency access scenarios but for everyday tasks I'd prefer more granular just-in-time access controls. You'll need to integrate additional solutions like CyberArk Identity or Conjur to handle all security requirements which adds complexity to the overall setup.

“Scales well”
Pros
The scalability is really impressive and once you get the hang of it, adding new components becomes much more manageable. Sure, the implementation can feel challenging at first especially if you're still learning the ropes but following the documentation step-by-step ensures everything runs smoothly.
Cons
The PTA component really gets on my nerves sometimes. Since it's a Unix component and I'm not a Unix expert it often behaves in ways that just don't make sense to me.

“Comes with tons of free integrations”
Pros
Love how many integrations come ready to use without extra fees, there's hundreds of them. The documentation is completely open and free, plus support is there when you need it. Having a strong partner network makes getting the right help much easier too.
Cons
It's tough getting everyone on the same page when you're dealing with so many different technologies that need protection.

“saves us time”
Pros
Accounts Discovery feature has been a game changer for us especially when paired with the REST API. We've managed to automate finding, organizing and onboarding new privileged accounts which has saved us time we used to spend hunting down and manually adding accounts.
Cons
The main thing I don't like is the documentation. When I was trying to find specific procedures as an admin, the old documentation methods made it really hard to locate what I needed. The web-based docs have helped a lot though.

“Highly customizable”
Pros
I can handle password and session management for thousands of devices and endpoints without breaking a sweat. The customization options are incredible and you can really tailor it to fit your specific needs though you'll definitely need some solid technical knowledge and scripting skills to get the most out of it.
Cons
Finding the right configuration can be difficult since there are so many options available. The documentation feels pretty basic and doesn't cover enough real-world scenarios which makes customizing things more challenging than it should be.
